As their relationship grows, Hayley’s torn between staying in the small town she’s made her home, and moving to the big city with Drew. An emergency situation sees her on his doorstep, and Drew’s reluctant to let go.

Especially with the attention she’s attracted from an unwanted source. One who’s used to getting his own way.

Doctor's Orders by Wendy Smith is book Two in the Copper Creek series. This is the story of Drew and Hayley. I have read the previous book but this can easily be a standalone book.
Drew is returning home to be at the birth of his brothers child. There he meets Hayley the midwife and their is a instant attraction.
This was a sweet romance just like the previous one. Of course there is his mother who isn't at all nice and causes issue along the way.

Light, sweet and swoony. It's nice to read a story set in another country, New Zealand for this series; and feel as though I've travelled to NZ whilst reading. I've read a NZ setting book before but I did not feel the foreign country experience that I have on this series. 😊

I almost 3 starred this coz Hayley annoyed me with her lack of self-preservation, BUT Drew charmed and soothed me. He's such a sweetheart! I can't wait to see him dotes their future babies. 😍

Happy to read more Adam-Lily couple time, and their cute family. I can't get enough! 😍

had forgotten how much I liked this setting for the Copper Creek series. It's been awhile since the first book released. This series is based on a group of brothers who despite having had a tense home life growing up, have bonded with each other. Together, they would do anything to support each other. The first book was the heart wrenching second chance love story of Adam and Lily. the author has chosen to write the series more like a family saga. Book two is focused on Drew and Hayley but we also have several chapters from not only Adam and Lily but other brothers as well.

Again, the settling is simply wonderful. Rural Australia. Small town life. Hayley is a midwife in Copper Creek. Drew is an OBGyn in the city. Both are strong willed and feisty. There is a connection between them, though, that can't be denied. I appreciated their honesty with each other. No games to be played. It just became a matter of logistics.

Adam and Lily's story continues to evolve. PTSD almost brings them down. But they, too, are strong personalities. In the end, love brings healing and hope.

It was great to catch up with the rest of the Campbell clan. I can't wait to see what adventure awaits them next. There is still some underlying tension in the town and I have a feeling the Campbell's may be the ones to help resolve this for good.

Great read!

Wendy Smith writes such real and down-to-earth characters, in real-life settings and every day situations. There are no billionaires, no penthouses and no secret virgins, just good story lines, lots of emotions and plenty of realism. The story not only introduces us to Drew and Hayley, but also allows us to catch up with Adam and Lily.

Drew is a sweet, kind-hearted and generous man and Hayley isn't the only one who fell in love with him. Even though at the start of the book he was letting his (then) girlfriend treat him badly, he never came across as a wimp or loser. Hayley is a strong women and very committed to her role as a midwife. The connection between Hayley and Drew felt both natural and believable, and their chemistry was off the charts.

One of the strengths of these books is in the way the bothers are portrayed and the amazing bonds that the individuals have with each other and anyone they consider to be 'family'. There are no glib nor easy resolutions to problems but just the knowledge that with love, honesty and hard work a solution can be found.

The story is so well written, I find the author's writing style easy to read, the pace is steady and I always knew where I was in the timeline. I was a little surprised by the 'dark' twist and sense of impending danger in parts of this book. It's not something I would have expected from this author but I definitely enjoyed it and felt it really added something to the book. I've read much darker books but somehow this part of the story line really made me anxious and definitely had me on tenterhooks! Part of this story line was left 'dangling' but I'm assuming that it will be resolved either in Owen or most likely Corey's book.

Talking of Owen and Corey it was good to see more of the brothers, and to learn a little more about them. I'm really looking forward to their stories too.

3.5 stars. Angst-lite, but pretty good. I’m continuing on with the series. I felt a bit like the good angst-y bits are rushed through, maybe? I feel a wee bit disconnected from them when they are happening.

Doctor’s Orders is book two in the series and is Drew’s story. Drew is an Obstetrician in the city but when he gets the call that his sister-in-law Lily is in labour, he sets off to make the drive home to welcome his niece into the world. Stopping off at home first before he leaves, he finds his girlfriend going to town giving the landlord a BJ! The discovery doesn’t hurt or even surprise Drew, and having wanted to break up with Lucy for a while now; they hadn’t even been intimate for months, this is the perfect time to tell her to pack up and be gone before he gets back.

What he doesn’t expect though, is to meet a beautiful, feisty midwife called Hayley that instantly gets his attention. As Hayley lives in Copper Creek and Drew lives in Hamilton, the pair try and have a long-distance relationship, but after Hayley meets Drew’s mum, one nasty woman who somehow raised 5 loving boys, she decides it’s too hard and breaks up with Drew. Someone else has their eye on Hayley though, someone who is willing to do anything to make Hayley his, and Drew leaving gives him the perfect opportunity to do so. He didn’t account for Drew’s brother’s though, who won’t let anything happen to family... broken up or not. Will this be the thing that makes the pair realise just what it is they want from life?

We also get a few more little bits about Adam in this book. When he came back to NZ and started to feel happy, he stopped looking out for the signs that his PTSD was getting worse, so Adam’s parts revolve around dealing with that and moving on with Lily and their family.

I enjoyed book one, but I liked this one even more. Yes, its super insta-love/lust but in this case it works and I’m looking forward to the next one. I give Doctor’s Orders 4.5 stars.

I absolutely adore this book. The characters are so lovable! Well, most of them.

Drew is such a sweetheart. A kind and caring soul who has put up with his girlfriend for far too long. When his brother calls to say it's time, he jumps at the chance to head back home to Copper Creek and help his brother welcome the newest addition to the family.

Hayley is Lily's friend and midwife. When Drew walks in and starts hovering over her, things get a little heated. This man is something else. And she can't stop thinking about him.

But there's someone else vying for her attention. Ash is like the ultimate creep. He just makes my skin crawl. He's one of those guys who isn't used to hearing the word no.

We also get to see glimpses into Adam and Lily's relationship. I'll admit, I haven't read the first in the series yet, but I can tell you, after reading this one, I'm determined to get into it! I need to know what happened to lead up to these events.
These two seem so connected and perfect for each other. I love the way they work through things.

The other brothers make an entrance too, and I can't wait to read more about them. They are some interesting characters, with completely different personalities! I love how loyal they are, and accepting of Hayley.

And then there are the parents. Wow. Both have such overbearing mothers. It made me even more thankful that my mother is nothing like them!

All in all, this was a great read and I look forward to sinking my teeth into the rest of these stories!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES!

After reading Coming Home I thought Adam was so great and I fell in love with Lily her character truly touched my heart and then there's little Max. Talk about cuteness overload, he is adorable. Then I started reading this book Doctor's Orders and HOLY CRAP! Drew is my new abso-freakin-lutely best book boyfriend ever. He not only sounds gorgeous but he has got to be THE sweetest most loving, caring and kindest man ever. Every one of the Campbell men bring a different quality to each book. I want to move to Copper Creek. Lol. Now lets talk about the Mrs. Campbell. Sick or not I HATE THAT WOMAN! She is THE biggest bitch. Hayley's mother comes in a real close second. Lol. Though both of their fathers are sweet and kind hearted. This so far is the most romantic of the series but I still have Owen, Corey, and James to check out yet. And I can't freakin wait! From the first time Ash Harris asked Hayley to come to the Community when he wouldn't let her out of his sight I knew there was definitely something wrong with that guy. Can you say cccreepy. He reminded me of Charles Manson. I hope there's more about him in the next book. I hope Julia and her little boy get away from there. When he called Hayley the second time I was yelling at my Kindle telling her NO DON'T GO! Then when they asked her if she wanted something to drink I was yelling again, NO!!. Lol! I HIGHLY recommend this series to everyone.

It's a good story. They are such a sweet pair.
There is a continuation of the first couple's relationship, Lily and Adam.
Dealing with the aftermath of both their tramatic experiences.
Ex drama for Drew and Hayley has another interested party.
No cheating or intimate scenes between anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Secondary characters, in the form of the other siblings.
Interfering mothers.
HFN.
I imagine as Adam and Lily's story was continued in this book that Drew and Hayley's story may continue in the next book.
I am not sure I liked the HFN then have the couple feature quite a lot in the next book even having several chapters from their POV but it does give more of a serial feel to the series, hence it's best to read them in order.
Also book 1 had so much going on with Adam and Lily it was probably too much to get them to the stage they reach at the end of book 2.

This one was cute and fairly drama free, the little bit that did pop up was resolved easily or dropped quickly. I did like that both Drew and Haley knew they had something special from the start and worked to keep that important to them both. It was hard at times with the distance, but they did it. I also loved that Drew's brothers stepping to help Haley when Drew wasn't there and she needed help.

Good Book

This is book 2 of The Copper Creek series and it’s Drew & Hayley’s story, he is Adam’s brother and is an obstetrician and Hayley is the midwife Lily has for her pregnancy.
They meet at Lily’s home on the day of the delivery and she is annoyed he is poking his nose in but there is an instant attraction.
There is a little drama with Ash the leader of the commune / cult up on the mountain going after Hayley but it kind of ends with no mention of what the police and undercover officers have found so not sure if we are going to see more in the other brothers books.
I did love this couple and their romance and they were really good together.
If I’m honest I was confused why Adam was in this book with a few chapters about his PTSD and I didn’t like that, his issues should have been covered in his own book.
I don’t mind mentions of other people or couples from other books but this is the first time I have ever read a book where the previous characters have their own pov again and I wasn’t a fan.
However everything else was really good and I would recommend this series so far, Owen is next and I think his story will be interesting considering his reputation.

Doctor's Orders is book two in the Copper Creek series and focuses on Drew, an ex Copper Creek resident who is now a city obstetrician, and Hayley, an ex city girl now living in Copper Creek and working as a midwife.

Drew and Hayley meet through Adam and Lily and their connection is an instant one. Their relationship, whilst long distance, is honest and loving from the get go.

Despite some potential challenges to they relationship, they faced them together and found their happily every after.

With re appearances from Adam, Lily and Max as well as Owen and Corey, I loved this book and it's left me ready for the next book in the series.

Awesome From Beginning To The End!

I really love this story, two people who deal with life and death situations every day, delivering babies and taking care of the mothers as well. Drew and Hayley had a lot to deal with, not only delivering babies but dealing with the leader of a cult community, who was making unwanted advances toward Hayley. They also were beginning a new relationship, together they overcame everything, including their mother’s, to be together. This is a wonderful story and so worth reading!

Another amazing book by Wendy Smith/Ariadne Wayne! I was intrigued to read Drew's story after reading Book 1 (Adam's story) and boy it did not disappoint! I love how the author doesn't stick to focusing just on Drew's story but also still adds chapters about Adam and Lily which updates you on their story/life too! The book as a whole is written with great emotion and to me that translates to an utter page turner! It's a must read for anyone who loves a bit of romance!

Good!

Book 2 of the series and it seems to be going from strength to strength. I liked Lilly and Adam's story, but Drew and Hayley was so I much more in my book. I look forward to following the Campbell family in their adventures. I feel there is more to this story that we're about to uncover.

Good

This felt much different in style to the first book. The writing felt "stiffer" and maybe that was an attempt to highlight the differences between Lily and Adam in book 1 and Hayley and Drew in book 2 but for me it left me a little unfeeling. The story was still good and I'm looking forward to seeing what is next for all the Campbells.

Drew and Hailey the only problem is they live in different towns, and don't want to be apart.

Drew and Hailey had sparks from the first time they met, Hailey is a midwife and was delivering his brother and Lily's baby and of course Drew being a Obstetrician he tried to medal in with the delivery.

While I'm not big into insta love, this one was sweet. There were a few continuity and grammatical errors that took me out of the story, but overall, a solid read.

Also, while I LOVE Adam and Lily, I feel like their story here should've been a short story separate from this one. It was an interesting chapter in their relationship to explore. It just didn't belong in this book.

Adam calls Drew to be on hand when the baby comes even though they have a midwife. Hayley thinks Drew is pushy. Quickly heat rises between and they start to date but distance is the enemy. Another battle they must face are their mothers, but distance and mothers cannot stop their love.

Wendy Smith is a good storyteller. The group on the mountain did have more of a role in this book and I can imagine it as a TV-drama/soap. I particularly liked that Adam and Lily's story continued from the first book, rather than having them as background characters, which most series like this seem to do.

I so love the Copper Creek mountain side small town. Lily and Adam are back burner here and I’m fine with that. There are parts of Adam’s past that come up, adding angst. The part I love is the Ash Harris part. So much angst!

Second book in the serries, does not disappoint. After Adam and Lily we see brother Drew (the doctor) meet his match with Hayley (midwife).
Following the twists and turns with this couple is gripping.

Copper Creek Book 2

I enjoyed this read. Drew and Hayley had a few things to work out due to the long distance romance but it was a pleasant read and how they overcame some issues with their parents. I also loved how we got a continuation of Adam and Lily from book one.
