How can I write/describe all the emotions I went through read this incredibly magnificent Romance!? You have to read all 3 Books. It's truly a Cinderella story, but for adults. I don't know how to condense how I felt reading this beautiful love story! It had everything, love, war, drama, suspense, page turning action, steamy love scenes, laughter and surprises! This book goes into details Sir Greg and Princess Sophia relationship. The funny servants at Holyrood House in Edinburgh where they visit. The mystery surrounding Madeleine's mother and her family death. I loved this book, this author and didn't want the book to end. I so recommend it and this is one book I will be reading again!
I’m sat here feeling all the emotions. This series has provided me with so much comfort and the fact I’ve finally finished years after beginning if makes me feel so empty. Again I first read maid for majesty when it was on wattpad and to finish it on KU just makes it more emotional. I honestly began to grow a soft spot for the Duke in the second book and my theories were proven right in this book I honestly was close to tears. His love for Elizabeth and how he wanted to preserve her memory. I absolutely despise the miscommunication trope but the way AJ managed to portray this was brilliant I loved how it was obvious regardless of what was presented that Alex was not cheating. Also Greg and Sofia talk about character development they’re my absolute favs seeing how they both adapted to each other and used that to help each other. I held a grudge towards but gosh it’s near impossible after what she she did Sir Giles held a soft spot and goodness I wasn’t expecting that. Even with the spice the plot was perfect and I couldn’t help but find myself scrolling to continue reading I couldn’t stop if I tried! Would 100% recommend!!
It took me awhile to read this book. The reason is because the author obviously had no editor or at least someone to read it to look for names. Yes, names. She couldn't keep them straight. Where it was supposed to be Madeline she had Sophia! Same thing with Greg where you know Alex should be and of course Susanna. Not lots mind you, just enough to confuse you and then irritate you. I am glad this series is over. I won't ever buy another book from this author.
I was really good with the way the story took until I found out what happened to Elizabeth Swan. This was totally unexpected!! And I still can't understand why for saving her love she ran off with Issac? She could have informed this to Duke anyway and he would have happily taken her and he would not have minded about it. I just found that part a bit off in the story. I felt that there could have been a better decision in how they framed her death. Other than that I felt the story just like the previous parts.
When I first read the story in radish, I thought it was just an erotica novel with no good backstory. Recently I came across this book again in goodreads and got curiosly interested seeing all the good reviews. I was not disappointed!!! In fact I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the whole series. I am a lover of historical romances and this book captured my interest well throughout. Too many erotic scenes though but that I suppose is never a bad thing 😉 if you are not into erotica, you can skip those scenes but the story is still worth the read!
I love all three of Maid for Majesty. I love how you explain what happen to Mad's family I you wold write a story their son so we could know what type of king. I do have questions about Sofia's mother
I absolutely adore the storyline behind this novel and I have fallen in love with the characters. I read the previous reviews of this book, and I must say that everyone is completely nuts - I'm so glad I trusted my inner self and didn't listen to the skeptics and read this wonderful story anyways. I cannot believe there will not be a next story to continue this love tale the author has so delicately woven for all of her readers. Come on, Ms. Phoenix, you know you want to write one more! ❤
I liked this book best out of all 3. The plot is nice even though I do not agree with the way some stuff unraveled.
Plot: 3.5 stars
Sex scenes: sorry, but I have to give it 1 star (out of pity) 😂
As someone who has read many books that contain +18 content and enjoyed them, the sex here was disgusting, especially between Greg and Sofia🤦🏻♀️ I lost count on how many times I skipped them. If you are able to find the non erotica version, I would kindly advise you to read that one.
I've read all three of this series and am forced to agree that:
a) much more editing was required for spelling and (Regency) period consistency. b) while I enjoy some smutty scenes in a book, I felt that the whole series had too much sex. It's extra disappointing, because the storyline had so much potential!
I hope that future writing takes this into account!
