Being a werewolf is hard enough without having amnesia. Gavin wakes up in Alexander’s veterinarian clinic with no idea of who he is or how he got there. As Alexander takes care of him, he realizes the man is his mate and that they’re both in danger. Gavin and Alexander find themselves embroiled in a world of mystery, magic, and love.

I had been excited to read this one, since it got such a neat set-up at the end of Omega, but I found it to not be as strong as the rest of the series. The whole revelation about the story behind the labs and Gavin's time there was really weak and over the top. There were some aspects of the story that didn't seem to fit or were never fully explained. There was also something that Gavin did or failed to do, that made no sense and if I were Alexander would not have been forgiven. The one thing that did work was the relationship between Gavin and Alexander, they made a cute couple. Gavin was really fiercely protective of Alexander, and not just in the male posturing ways that so many werewolf stories are. He helps him though some very tough stuff and is completely supportive and loving. The humor that we saw in the first two books in the series peeks out a bit here and there but isn't as laugh-out-loud funny since the story is much more somber. The sex is good but not as good as I thought Beta was (although that's my favorite all-round fav of the series so far so that may be coloring it). Speaking of which, you really, really need to read this in series order because it is strongly dependent of the events of books one and three. There is not a set up for a future title in the series but I eagerly look forward to another one.
