Jo Waters has the talent to succeed at her job. All she needs is one chance to prove herself to get her dream promotion. And get through a make-or-break client dinner to which she’s been asked—make that ordered—to bring her boyfriend.

The problem? He doesn’t exist. She made him up to quell any suspicion she might be a tiny bit attracted to a hot new guy in the office, which is strictly against company policy.

Luckily for her, Marco, her BFF’s brother (a.k.a. the bane of her existence) agrees to act the part of her adoring significant other, which he does with toe-curling, Oscar-worthy skill. By the time she discovers he omitted a small detail—he’s newly single—the kisses they shared “just for show” have sunk their hooks way under her skin. And she’s spent an unforgettable night in his arms.

But there’s someone else who’s been following Jo’s every move, and his subtle threats are about to take a chilling turn that could force her to make a terrible choice to keep Marco safe…

Warning: Contains light teasing, heavy emotions, an awkward morning after, office drama, and a stalker who likes his fear served raw.

Obsession is a fantastic, gripping standalone novel by Liz Bower! This book pulled me in and didn’t let me back out until the very end! This is definitely one of those books that will still have you thinking about it after you have finished it! It is a relatively short read, less than 200 pages, but it’s packed full of romance, suspense and plot twists that you will not see coming! I could not turn the pages quick enough because I was so hooked on it! I tried so hard to work out what was going to happen and just when I thought I had worked it out – another twist came along! The author did an amazing job of concealing what was going to happen until the end!!
The story is about Jo (Josephine) who has recently split from her cheating boyfriend and although she doesn’t want a relationship at the moment she can’t help but become slightly obsessed with her sexy new colleague Dan! When Jo defends Dan in a meeting she ends up in a whole lot of trouble and when confronted by her boss about her uncharacteristic behaviour she panics and lies. Unfortunately this lie sets off an unstoppable chain of events and she finds herself needing to find herself a fake boyfriend. Her best friend and roommate offers her a solution – her brother, Marco. Trouble is for Jo, Marco has been the bane of her life since high school plus he is annoying and far too full of himself! But Marco is the least of her worries when someone starts to make threats again her colleague and boss and Jo is the obvious suspect.
I actually thought that the story was very cleverly written because although from dual POV you didn’t actually know who the other person was until the end! When we were reading from the other person’s POV there were no clues as to who it was – I absolutely loved this! It made me want to carry on so I could find out just who it was! I changed my mind so many times about who this other person was over the story – as I said before the author did really well to conceal their identity until the end!
I honestly cannot recommend this story enough, it was an amazing read! You definitely need to read it – you will not be disappointed!!

“There is a fine line between love and madness……… Obsession.”

Obsession is a wonderfully gripping standalone by Liz Bower. I read the blurb of this book and was immediately drawn to it. I HAD to read it! When I opened up to the first page, I took a deep breath and hoped that it was going to be every bit as good as I thought it would be. I dove right in and got swept along on an incredible journey, as Ms Bower skilfully wove her suspenseful tale. She didn’t let me down, this book is even better than the blurb had led me to believe. Slightly dark and intense in places, the story had me completely absorbed by it, right till the end.
Josephine Waters (Jo) works for Danver Solutions- one of the leading software providers for holiday companies in the Northwest of England. She loves her job and is happy that her life seems to be finally moving in a positive direction again; after hitting a few snags due to splitting up with her boyfriend- when she caught him cheating on her. Jo really has no interest in pursuing a new relationship, but can’t help appreciating the sexy new guy at her workplace.
When Mr. Sexy gets blamed for something he didn’t do, Jo jumps to his defence, which ends with her in the boss’s office being reprimanded. The behaviour is so out of character for her, so her boss asks for an explanation- Jo is completely caught off guard and ends up concocting a huge lie.
This lie is where the story gets intriguing and the beginning of an interesting chain of events- the first of which requires her to find someone she can pass off as her boyfriend. After discussing it with her friend, a suitable candidate is suggested and he happens to be her best friend Gabi’s brother, Marco. Jo has known him for a long time, but she doesn’t think he’s such a good idea- because he is annoying, arrogant and enjoys nothing more than antagonising her.
Then, events seem to be spiralling out of her control and someone with sinister intentions seems to have taken quite an interest in her life- endangering her colleagues and loved ones. Unfortunately, all the evidence seems to be pointing to Jo- making her the prime suspect. What exactly is happening here? Why Jo….. And can she figure it all out and protect the one’s she loves, before it’s too late?
Wow! This story really had so much going on in it. Ms. Bower wrote and orchestrated all the various elements of the plot so wonderfully well. Her writing style is vividly detailed and descriptive; bold and very gripping. She added enough tension, surprises, suspense, mystery, and darkness- to really get my heart pounding and had me sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
The characters were fully developed and written really well. The chemistry between the main characters was sizzling with intensity, and there were quite a few very erotic moments throughout the book.
The story is told from a duel P.O.V and I liked the way the author ended the book, wrapping everything up really well.
I had not read any of Ms. Bower’s work before, but after reading this book I have now added her to my ‘must read’ list of authors. I am really looking forward to her next book.

Thank you Ms. Bower!

Obsession by Liz Bower. I give this novel 5 stars *****
This novel is about Jo Waters, a single woman trying to do good at her job as a travel agent. Jo hopes to one day advance in her career. Jo is recently single after having left her cheating boyfriend. Jo lives with her best friend Gabi. When Dan begins work with Jo she is instantly attracted to him, along with every other woman at the agency. When Dan is wrongfully accused for a mistake he didn't make Jo ends up defending Dan putting Jo in hot water with her boss. When Jo’s boss confronts her he reminds her of the “non-fraternization” rule at work. Horrified, Jo panics and lies to her boss about having a boyfriend. Everything seems fine until Jo’s boss invites her and her boyfriend to a dinner for potential clients.
Jo and Gabi come up with a plan for Jo. She must take Gagi’s brother, Marco to dinner as her boyfriend.

Marco is cocky and always teasing Jo. They have had the relationship since high school. So instead of being humiliated in front of her boss and coworkers Jo agrees to this ridiculous plan.

When Jo does not get the promotion she has worked so hard for things turn ugly. Threats are made to her new colleagues and Jo is the prime suspect. But when others become threaded as well including Jo it's obvious she is not to blame. But who is?

“There is a fine line between love and madness”

This novel is full of secrets, lies and suspense What a great stand-alone novel by Liz Bower. I highly recommend

Hands down, I loved this book - Obsession, by Liz Bower, which is a romantic suspense. This book will have you guessing until the end – as the synopsis/blurb tells you for this book, there’s a fine line between love and madness. This story focuses on Jo Waters – she defends a co-worker and shortly thereafter everything begins to spin out of control. First she claims she has a boyfriend and needs a guy to assist – her best friends suggest her brother, Marco. Next threats begin to occur to those around her and they grow more and more disturbing as they progress.

As you read this book, the author leaves you guessing on who could possibly be setting these threats in place and just how far they will ultimately go to reach their end game – whatever that may be. Liz Bower does a fantastic job setting the stage for this suspenseful story from Jo, to her best friend and the brother (Marco) to Jo’s cast of co-workers. Some of the banter and thoughts through parts of the story add realistic characteristics to each of the characters.

The flow is well paced and has you gripping the edge of your seat seriously wondering what could possibly occur next and then once we come to the climatic end, you seriously did not see it coming. The author has finesse in how the story is finished and it is a remarkably well written story. This is definitely one of the authors to watch this year!!

Jo Waters is currently working for Danver Solutions. She is hoping to get promoted. During a meeting people are blaming a new hire Dan for them not meeting a deadline. Jo exploded in the meeting. Calling out the woman who flirts with everyone and wears clothes showing off her assets. The boss Alex Danver then asked Jo in a private meeting why she is defending Dan and feels so strong about it. He also reminded Jo of the Non-fraternization policy. Jo then lied and told her boss Alex that she had a boyfriend. And that's how the book starts.

Jo did not have a boyfriend however, Marco ( her best friends brother ) acted as her boy friend to a number of business dinners.

Someone in the office starts to threaten Alex, thinking him and Jo were having an affair, then another coworker who got the job that Jo wanted and then even threatens Marco. Jo has no idea who it could be. She thinks it could be Toby who seems to always be lurking around her desk. Then she looks at Dan who she is seriously crushing on and he never likes to make eye contact. He always has a frown on his face.
The cops end up being involved when a child is threatened.

After Marco and Jo start to get close. Much closer then they have ever been, Jo decides to distance herself from those she loves. Mainly Marco and his sister. She even goes back to work and that's when the person sending threats steps up their game.

Obsession by Liz Bower is a fantastic read. It grabbed hold of me from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the end. This is definitely one of those books that will have you thinking about it after you have finished it. Yes, it’s that good!! It is a relatively short read, less than 200 pages, but it’s packed full of romance, suspense and awesome plot twists. You don’t see them coming. I don’t think I could have turned the pages any faster while reading it, I was sucked in bad. I tried so hard to process and figure out what was going to happen and just when I thought I had figured it out–BAM! Another twist came along! The author did an amazing job of hiding what was going to happen until the end!!

The story is about Jo (Josephine) who has recently split from her cheating boyfriend and even though she doesn’t want a relationship at the moment, she can’t help but become slightly obsessed with her new colleague, Dan. She knows professional and personal lives must be kept apart but she can’t help it. When Jo defends Dan in a meeting, she ends up in a whole lot of trouble and when confronted by her boss about her uncharacteristic behavior she panics and lies by saying she has a boyfriend. Unfortunately this lie sets off a continuous chain of events, and she finds herself needing get herself a fake boyfriend. Her best friend and roommate, Gabi, offers her a solution. That is, her brother, Marco. He may be annoying at times, but what the heck. She needs to secure her job and possible promotion. Marco means trouble for Jo. Marco has been a “pain in the rear” since high school plus he is annoying and far too full of himself! He’s cocky and conceited at times. Soon Marco is the least of her worries when someone starts to make threats against her colleague and boss, and Jo is the only obvious suspect.
Written in a dual point of view, you don’t really get an idea of who the other person is until the end. When reading from that other character’s view, you don’t get those feelings or ideas of who it could be.
That made me want to keep reading on so I could find out just who it was! I changed my mind so many times about who this other character was throughout the story.
I don’t think there is a review great enough for this story. It was greatly written, I can’t wait to see what’s to come.

Obsession by Liz Bower is a story about wanting another person so bad that it doesn't matter what that person thinks or feels. This story has action, suspense and excitement. This story will show you sometimes love can be a dangerous thing.

Jo Waters is a young woman who feels that she finally has her life back on track after ending a bad relationship. Love is not high on her list of priorities, but that doesn't mean she can't look especially at a new work colleague. What will happen when she loses it during a meeting? When she is confronted by her boss about the situation, she lies about having a boyfriend. Now she needs to find herself a fake boyfriend. What happens when she does? When her room mate offers her a solution to her problem, will she take it? Just when she thinks her life can't get off more track and he is the least of her problems. Someone is making threats at her and her boss. Is her life in danger? Who is a suspect?

Marco is a young man just getting out of a relationship and needs to stay at his sister's place for a few weeks. When his sister offers him up to play her fake boyfriend, what will he do? Will he do it? She thinks he is annoying, full of himself and has been apart of her life since high school. How far will this situation go? Is there an attraction between them? Will he act on it?

Jo and Marco's story is one that is complicated is a way. Will their fake relationship become more? Do they want more? Will he understand when she leaves to protect everyone? Their story is one that will pull you into their world and leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. You will want to see what happens next and you will never believe what does happen.

This is my first read by Liz Bower. Liz has lived in three different counties in the past ten years. She writes about people finding their own happily ever after. When she is not writing she spends her time drinking to much coffee, walking her dog and looking for her next read. This story is a fast pager turner and you will want see what happens with this couple. You will lose yourself in their story and lose track of time. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love it as much as I have.

Obsession by Liz Bower is a standalone and let me tell you this book was gripping and held me from the first word and to the last word. This book is still with me and will be for a while. While I have not really been a big fan of romance and suspense mixed together, I loved it in this book and how well the author was able to mix them with a great story line made this book what it is.

Jo, finally able to get her life back after her ex cheated on her becomes very interested about her new colleague Dan. Dan takes the fall from something that he didn’t do and Jo is left to try to get him out. Lie after lie things start to unravel for Jo. She knows she needs to reach out to her bother for help, but she cannot stand him. When life get back to normal someone is sending Jo violent threats and each time the threats gets worse and more disturbing. This truly is a book about obsession and wanting someone so badly that it doesn’t matter what the other person wants.

This book has it all …love, heartache, drama and suspense. And it is NOT overdone, the author has a way of making this into such an amazing read that I didn’t want to put it down. This was my first book by Liz Bower and it will NOT be my last. I loved the dual POV and you are kept guessing till the end on who it is. THAT MADE THIS book and MADE me want to finish. This is the first book I have read written like that and I must say Bower pulled it off in such an amazing way. How this book isn’t sitting at number one has be floored. I give this book 5 starts and so wish I could give it 10 because this book was THAT WELL WRITTEN! Take a chance and see what not just what I loved about this book but what other people have loved and what grabbed them.

A 5 star read for Obsession by Liz Bower. This book was filled with romance, mystery and suspense. I absolutely loved this book.

Jo lives with her best friend Gabi and is working at a job that she loves. She is extremely attracted to her coworker Dan, but then again, every other female in the office is also. When she sticks up for Dan, during a meeting, her boss reminds her that there is an on fraternization policy. To cover her own hide, she tells him she understands and that she is very happy with her boyfriend. Now to find a “fake” boyfriend in time for a client dinner meeting with her boss. When she gets home, Gabi is there with her brother Marco. When she tells her about needing a boyfriend, Gabi volunteers Marco for the job. When the night of the fake date with her boss comes around, she starts seeing Marco in a different light, she always knew that he was good looking, but he acts like he actually cares. The more time they spend together the stronger the attraction towards each other is. So they decide to give this fake relationship a real shot.
There is one MAJOR problem, someone else has different ideas……..
Someone has a obsession with Jo. When threatening letters and packages start showing up to not only her boss, but then Marco receives one also. She knows what she has to do in order to keep everyone safe. Breaking it off with Marco was one of the hardest things she had to do. When the person makes themselves known to Jo, she is shocked!!!! Will she make it out unscathed and back into the arms of the man she loves? Or is this the end??? You will definitely want to read this book and find out. Once I started this book, I could not put it down!!!

I really enjoyed obsession I haven't read anything like this before but wasn't disappointed it is a love story but with a huge mystery plot involved which just made you more hooked to the storyline. I really loved Jo she was abit timid but you do sometimes see the sassy side poke out of her which is great the only thing is shes not sure what she wants especially when the man she start seeing in a different light is her bestfriends brother Marco. Marco is a great guy recently been cheated on so he can seem abit angry and vulnerable but he also see this as his chance to finally get what he wants. There are so many twists and turns in this novel makes your head spin and keep you on your toes but that’s another reason why I fell in love with this novel because every time you think your cracked it the tables turn and it makes you rethink and go back to the drawing bored. You have got to feel sorry for Jo she is put through a lot during this book it seems when one thing was going right then suddenly would go terribly wrong. I know I'm not giving much away but it would be such a shame to give to much of the storyline away its worth the read I started this book a hour ago that's how much I enjoyed it I love romance books I'm not normally ones for suspense /mystery books but with them combined it's awesome. There are other interesting characters along the way who you will love and hate but I can definitely assure you that you will be sucked in to jo’s world and you will find yourself visualising everything that’s going on around her and you will be able to feel the emotions that seep of the pages its real well written. Liz has done a phenomenal job with this novel if you like romance with mystery and suspense then this is definitely for you.

Obsession by Liz Bower
4 Stars

Obsession was the first book I've read by Liz Bowers but it won't be my last. This book had a little of everything. Told in mostly first person POV of main character Jo, but a couple times we see inside the bad guys head. The story was very well written and loved the way things were described in detail but wasn't over done.
Jo Waters works in an office and she has a slight crush on a new coworker, Dan. We meet her in a meeting where she's speaking up for Dan, who's being blamed for the setbacks, which is out of character for her as she's the quiet type. Jo finally feels as though her life is back on track and things are looking up for her future in life and work. When she is reminded by her boss of the no fraternization policy, she realizes her lusting over Dan didn't go unnoticed like she thought, she quickly lies about having a boyfriend. Jo lives with her best friend Gabi and when she tells of her lie and a dinner invitation that has to do with her application for promotion, Gabi has the perfect solution her brother Marco. While thinking over having a fake date with Marco she starts to realise she may have feelings for Marco but she feels guilty as she doesn't want to cause any upset if things go south. When threats start to come in potentially framing Jo and causing her boss and Marco to be cautious she takes matters into her own hands. Will she be making the right decision? Who is behind the threats? Why are they doing this?
This story had love, suspense, drama and a little heartache but it was all needed for this story. Great read and I can't wait to dive into more from this author.

5 Stars!!!

Jo Waters infatuation for her new male colleague proves to land her in a heap of trouble, she wasn’t expecting. Finding help from Marco her best friends brother proves to open opportunities Jo least expected. Little did she know her actions would lead to an obsession getting out of hand. With threats looming, can Jo save the people she loves?

I bought this book on impulse, and I don’t regret it! Liz Bower has written a book that had me hooked and engrossed from the first chapter; I was so self-absorbed in the story that I read this book in one sitting. Liz has a way of pulling the reader in with fascinating characters and a captivating storyline. At first I thought this book was taking a rom-com kind of route, when suddenly Liz threw a spanner in the works that had me sat on the edge of my seat in shock and anticipation for what was to come.

This story keeps you on your toes guessing and although I felt I had worked out the intentions of one character I could never fully commit myself to their true intentions because Liz Bower had a way of throwing in a few curve balls that had you second guessing yourself.

Jo Waters, is funny, speaks her mind, isn’t ashamed to be herself and is great at her job. I loved that at times she acted on impulse and even with regrets she didn’t dwell on it too much.

Marco is irresistible without any doubt. He comes across cocky and self-assured, however a lot of it is an act and he is in fact a loving, caring man who is loyal to his friends and family.

If you love romantic suspense with humour and mystery you will love Obsession by Liz Bower.

Obsession by Liz Bower
I loved this book from start to finish and if I could give it another couple of stars I would, the fact its set in England is a bonus for me. It’s well written, descriptive but not overloaded, I just found the writing style smooth.
The story centres around Jo Waters, a 24 year old independent woman working towards promotion at the travel agency in the north west of England. Single through choice after her cheating boyfriend left, and sharing a house with her BFF, Gaby, life is good.
When Dan joins the firm Jo is instantly attracted to him, along with every other woman in the office. When a big mistake is mad and Dan is wrongly blamed she defends him during a meeting and lands herself in big trouble with her boss who reminds her about the non-fraternisation clause in her contract, she panics and says she has a boyfriend. Next thing she knows she is invited to a meeting/dinner with important potential clients…..and bring your boyfriend. Gaby’s great idea is that her brother Marco pretends to be her boyfriend, Marco has been a thorn in her side since school, always teasing her and being a cocky so and so but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. When Jo doesn’t get the promotion she worked hard for and the job is given to someone externally things take a sinister turn and threats are made towards her new colleague jo is the first suspect but then others are threatened, it’s clear it’s because of Jo but who could be doing it?
I would highly recommend this book and can see myself re reading it down the road and will be looking out for more from Liz Bower

Obsession is a stand alone novel by Liz Bower. This is my first novel by this author.

Jo Waters is a woman who is putting her life back together after ended it with a cheating boyfriend but that doesn't stop her from taking an interest in her new collegue, Dan.

At a meeting, Jo has an outburst to defend Dan and to cover it up, she lies. But lies have a way of piling up. She needs to find a fake boyfriend and fast.

Enters Marco, the older brother of Jo’s roommate, Gabi. With Marco having problems with his girlfriend, he stays with Gabi. And Gabi has the bright idea for Marco to be Jo’s fake boyfriend. What could go wrong?

“There comes a time in every girl's life when she has to take a stand for what she believes in , for the man in her life.”

With a beginning like that, I was totally hooked. I couldn't put the book down and when I was done, I wished there was more.

The story is paced fast, thrilling and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I loved Jo’s character. She was funny yet quiet but would speak her mind when she felt necessary. Marco had his faults but in the end, I enjoyed his character too. Their story of course has bumps but it's worth it.

Her initial feelings for Dan is what got her into the mess. She knew he was off limits but it didn't stop her from wanting him.

“But it was easier to deal with the ache of desire for someone you knew you didn't stand a chance with. Better that than the uncertainty and risk of humiliation of rejection from someone who might be interested.”

A quote relatable to many.

While Jo and Marco have a complicated relationship, I did enjoy the scene where he was apologizing for upsetting her.

A short but great read.

A story about the thin line between love and crazed need, obsession.
Obsession- The state of being obsessed with someone or something. –An idea or though that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind. This definition was the best way to start this book off. It is a thin line between love and that crazed need that leads to obsession.
This was a quick fast paced read full of fast paced story lines. From the very beginning of the book you are plunged into the hectic mind and love life of Jo. She has been burned in her last relationship and has resorted her mind to fantasizing about one of her co-workers that she thinks is out of her reach. Then there is her roommate, and best friend’s, brother that she’s known forever. She sees him as an annoyance that only pesters and ridicules her, at most a friend. Or so she thinks, until suddenly she finds that he has a different vision for what they should be. Just when you think that this is the love and obsession the title of the book talks about there is a huge twist. Someone else sees her and wants her all to himself. Someone who is very mixed up and will do anything to get her all to himself. It’s one threat after another until she is left with no choice to abandon everyone she has to protect them. It’s that selfless act she attempts that gets her face to face with the very person who obsessed with her.
I definitely would recommend this book if you want a fast paced read that will keep you guessing. I was intrigued with the mystery behind and everything, and felt that Liz Bower did a wonderful job of keeping you on the edge of your seat till the very end of the story.

Obsession by Liz Bowers is a suspenseful, enjoyable, quick read. It is a standalone novel that has many twists and turns. Ms. Bowers had me completely hooked from the first page! Every time I thought I had it figured out it I really didn’t-and I love these types of books. It was well written and had a fantastic storyline that kept you guessing until the end.

Jo Waters is finally happy in her life. She recently had gotten out of a bad relationship and did a number on her. He was a cheater and Jo vowed to put love on the back burner for awhile. While in a meeting at work, she jumps to a colleague's defense a little too quickly and puts herself into a bad position. When she is confronted by her boss, she comes up with a huge lie that has a domino effect, crumbling everything around her. Top priority-she needs to find a fake boyfriend and fast. Her best friend suggests her older brother Marco, and while it would solve her problem, she's hesitant because he's arrogant and annoying. But when someone starts to make threats against her boss and her new colleague, Marco is the least of her problems. Being that she was the prime suspect, Jo has to figure out who was making the threats and do it quickly before someone gets hurt. Will Jo be able to figure out who it is? Or will it be too late?

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were well thought out and it flowed well. It was a perfect mixture of romance and suspense. Ms. Bowers did an amazing job and I am looking forward to reading more from her!

Obsession is the first book that I have read by Liz Bowers but I have to say that I really want to read more. This book is full of deception, secrets, suspense and maybe a little love??
Joe Waters is the quiet, reserved girl in the office and never speaks out of turn; that is until her crush is accused at work of something that he did not do. She speaks up for him and has no problem defending him. She does not do it quietly either until her boss confronts her to remind her of the no fraternization policy, she quickly tells him that she has a boyfriend that is not the co-worker. Since she just got out of a bad relationship she has to come up with an imaginary boyfriend, who better than her best friend’s brother who happens to be staying with them for a while. She really doesn’t like Marcos but can not think of a better option. Things between her and Marcos is going better than anyone expected…Is it possible that they have real feelings for each other? When someone starts threatening those around her she will have to choose to stay and deal with it or run to protect everyone. Which decision will she make and will those around her be able to understand why she made that choice?
I really enjoyed this book, I read it all in practically one sitting and was dying to know what happened next. If you like books with mystery, love and drama then this is the book for you. You will not be disappointed!

Good fun read

Obsession is the fun book by Liz Bower. It keeps you guessing what Jo is going to do next. There’s a perfect amount of suspense and love joined into one book. Wow! I loved this book, I liked the fact this book has a few twists and turns. The author has you thinking one thing but turns out it's not what you was thinking at all. I was on the edge through out especially at the end. Loved the characters, Jo is a lovely lady with a crush on a male work friend Dan. Jo gets into a little spot by telling a lie that she has a boyfriend so that people won't find out that she has a crush on Dan. Jo has a job interview and been asked out for a meal to impress her boss and to bring her boyfriend. Jo begs her best friend Gabi to help her find a fake boyfriend. Jo isn't impressed when Gabi suggests her brother Marco! Marco is always winding Jo up. Jo finally agreed to Marco being her fake boyfriend and is actually surprised that she likes being with Marco. Marco takes to the part well.

Jo did not get the job she always wanted the other person she was up against Carol got the job.

Carol was sent some threatening letters and Jo was number one suspect.

I loved the plot and was torn between a couple of the people who I thought it was trying to get to Jo. I was well and truly intrigued, on the edge of my Kindle. When I found out who it was and the obsession this person had on Jo OMG it so scary the things people will do.

I loved the fact this is close to real life and can actually happen. I really enjoyed this book and recommend you read this you will not be disappointed.

Book Review: Obsession
Author: Liz Bower
FIVE STARS
In Obsession by Liz Bower we meet Jo Waters. Jo is getting her life in order as a software analyst. She is up for a promotion but she has to try to win the position since she is still new on the team. Standing up for Dan at a team meeting she inadvertantly puts herself in the hot seat where her job is concerned. Alex her boss has told her to be at a dinner to schmooze the prospective new clients and to bring her "boyfriend". However Jo doesn't have a boyfriend. She made that up so that Alex wouldn't think she was pining away for Dan.
So Jo does what every girl does. She goes home and asks her roommate/bestfriends brother Marco to stand in for her at the dinner as her boyfriend and to Jo's suprise Marco says yes without arguing.
Shortly after a successful dinner. Carol, the lady who got the position that Jo was hoping to get, receives a violent threat and they get progressively worse.
Jo's boss thinks that Jo is the obvious suspect but is she? Can Jo know who is doing this if it isn't her? What does this person want and why now?
After an out of town business meeting with the new clients to set up the software on location things get very weird. The hero of this story is suprising and so is the villian.
Enjoy this read I know I did. I especially enjoyed the love story that came through it.

“Obsession” by Liz Bower is a fun, quick read filled with suspense, romance and a touch of humor.

Jo Waters has put romance on the bottom of her priority list after getting out of a bad relationship. But what harm can looking cause? Turns out a lot when your lustful gaze is noticeable at work. (Dan is the hot new guy so who can blame her?) Now to save her backside Jo must produce a fake boyfriend and convince her boss that he’s the real deal. Enter Marco – her best friend’s brother and Jo’s arch nemesis from high school. But Marco becomes the least of her worries when someone starts making threats and suspicions point to Jo. Can Jo find out who is behind all this? And how far will she be willing to go when the threats turn dangerous?

This is my first read by the author and I really enjoyed it. A lot of story is packed into its pages, but nothing felt jumbled and the story flowed freely. The characters are well-developed and Bower’s writing style is clean. (Nothing is bogged down by overly descriptive prose.) The story is told from Jo’s point of view, but occasionally the reader gets the bad guy’s point of view. Instead of just backstory or long dialogues, the reader gets a peek into how this person’s mind works. That is a big plus for me with suspense novels.

This is a standalone novel that will keep you cheering for Jo and frantically one-clicking for more once you’ve reached the end. This definitely won’t be my last read by this author.

Obsession is the first book I've read from Liz Bower, and it was absolutely amazing!! She had me hooked within just the first chapter! 5 Stars!!

Obsession starts out with Jo Waters, she's been trying to get her life back on track. After her ex boyfriend cheated on her, she's decided that men and romance aren't a priority on her list. Even though she decides men aren't for her, she isn't blind. She can see how off the charts sexy Dan is. Dan find himself in some trouble and getting blamed for something that he didn't do, Jo can't help but try and defend Dan. When her boss confronts her about it, Jo panics and lies, now Jo's small white lie spirals out of control, and she has to find someone who can pose as her boyfriend. Jo's best friend tells Jo to use her brother, Macro. The only problem is that Jo hates how cocky Marco is, he's been so full of himself and was always making life miserable for her. So what's Jo to do? Does she pretend that Marco is her boyfriend? What's she suppose to do when her white lie is spiraling out of control? What happens when someone starts making violent threats? Who hates Jo that much that they would threaten the people she loves?

Obsession had so many twists and turns, that every time I thought I had it figured out, there was another plot twist that was thrown in. This book was absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see what else she has out!

Obsession by Liz Bower 4 Stars (A standalone romantic suspense)
Obsess: (v) Preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent
Obsession: (n) The state of being obsessed with someone or something.
“There is a fine line between love and madness… Obsession
This is the story of Jo Waters who is a 20 something woman who is living a life well lived. She lives with her best friend, has a job that will allow her to advance and she has determined that she does not need a man by her side to succeed in life. HOWEVER, Jo has an obsession of a newer colleague in her office. Dan is good looking and charismatic and Jo can’t get him out of her mind.
An opportunity presents itself in which Jo must appear to be something she is not so she enlists the help of her best friend’s brother. Marco is a gentleman and willing to help Jo out.
Intertwined with the romance aspect of this story is a mystery that had me guessing. As the book kept getting closer and closer to the end, I was afraid it would end in a cliffhanger. It does not. Be patient and keep reading. All will be revealed. I’m satisfied with how it ended, although I feel as if a second book could be written for some of the supporting characters and a thread from the first could be written into the second. That excites me and I look forward to reading future books by Liz Bower.

Jo has recently broken up with her boyfriend since he cheated on her. Not only did he cheat on her but it was with multiple people. Finding a new man isn’t on her to do list but it never hurts to look. Especially at one of her new co workers named Dan.

When one of Jo’s other co worker’s, Amy tries to throw Dan under the bus; Jo decides to stand up for him. Jo finds herself in a whole bunch of trouble and decides to tell a little white lie. You know how that goes though one lie leads to another then another and then you’re not sure what you have said to keep it all straight.

The first lie she told was that she has a boyfriend. She applies for a new job and her boss wants her to bring the boyfriend to the interview because all parties included will have a date with them. Who will she take; she is definitely not seeing anyone and she really does not have any male friends that she could possibly ask. Her best friend suggests she take her brother Marco. Jo thinks, Marco of all people who is cocky and a player. That would never work.

I loved how this story came to life. There are twists and turns and when I thought I had it figured out, it turns out that I was wrong. Most of the story is told by Jo’s POV but every now and then you get to hear the observer. What a great read that kept me guessing.

Obsession is a fast-paced romance that will keep you entertained. Josephine or Jo as she prefers has sworn off men, after kicking her last cheating boyfriend to the curb. Though she’s not interested in a relationship she is just fine with looking at all the cute men around. She soon develops a crush on her coworker. While at work, she lies about having a boyfriend and now finds herself on the hunt for one. Her best friend suggest that her brother Marco would be a great fake-boyfriend. Jo is not thrilled with Marco posing as her fake boyfriend as they don’t have the best relationship. But beggars can’t be choosers, so Jo agrees and things start to happen. These things are threats to Jo’s family and friends. Jo now must figure out who’s doing these things and why. As Jo gets digs deeper, someone becomes a direct threat to her life.
Obsession is a romantic thriller that kept me engrossed in the story. When you find out who the person is that has been after Jo, it is quite a surprise! The book has many twists and turns that keep you waiting to see what’s going to happen next. The characters are very well written. I enjoyed Jo and Marco’s part of the story, it took a lot for her to be open and trusting with Marco, but I’m glad she did. They deserved their happily ever after. If you are looking for a romantic thriller that keeps you engaged than Obsession is for you.

Wow!!! Such a great book. I loved this book and it definitely kept me guessing what was going to happen next. Marco is just swoon worthy. He is the brother of Jo’s roommate Gabi and Jo has known him for quite some time now. He is a great guy and close to Gabi. Marco may have been immature for a while but he is trying to be more mature and go after something he has wanted for quite a few years. He has a good job and loves to hang around Gabi and Jo.
Jo is trying to do well at her job so she can advance one day. She and Gabi are close and are good friends. Jo is pretty and sweet but loves to push Marco’s buttons when he is around just like he does her.
I loved the story and the characters. It made my heart happy at times because of some of the sweet things that would happen with the characters. There were some crazy things that happened too and it was like a mystery needing to be solved. I was intrigued wondering what was going on and who was doing what and every time I thought I had it figured out I was going in a different direction. It is a great story and kept me wanting more. It was one of those books that I could not stop reading until I made it to the end and I wanted more. What a great author and book.

This is my first read by Liz Bower. Obsession is a great edge of your seat read. I really enjoyed it. This book has it all. Love, drama, suspense. Romantic suspense is definitely one of my favourite genres.

Jo has been trying to get her life back in control after her boyfriend cheated on her. Jo has completely sworn off all men... for good!! But, that's until her new co worker Dan joins the business! But when Dan is blamed for something he isn’t responsible for, Jo tries to step in and cover for Dan. Doing so, she lies to her boss which starts to unravel a chain of event.

Someone is making violent threats towards those close to her. And to make matters worse Jo’s boss thinks she is the obvious suspect.

If you love a good romance, suspense with humour and drama you will love Obsession by Liz Bower

Okay read

Okay read. Characters were okay, worked out quickly who the stalker was. Some mystery to it. Potential to be better. The boss was a bit thick and cranky a poor manager.
