East meets west in this exotic and highly sensual love story that will set temperatures soaring.
"You can be as curious and as confident as you want - with no limits . . ."
Journalist Jenna Martin has led a very unadventurous life - until now.
Sent to the Arabian desert to review an exclusive new holiday resort, she stumbles into the path of a beautiful, exotic stranger, Kalan Al Talyani.
Over one unforgettable night, the reclusive billionaire will tempt her, test her, seduce her, and offer her an electrifying taste of a life outside her comfort zone.
When Jenna returns to America she tells herself it was just a magical one-night stand, an experience that's already starting to feel more dream than reality.
But then Kalan follows her home to Boston - and Jenna is forced to make a choice. Should she stay within the confines of her current life? Or take a risk on a life that's different from anything she's ever imagined . . .?
Lover of funny stuff, steamy stuff, and Campari. Gin too. Okay - and wine. And cheese. Doer of courses. Travel tragic. Italian wannabe. Eater extraordinaire but does not cook. Avid shoe collector.
Oh my God what can I say? This is an amazing powerful story it is steamy and sexy and there is humour, yes it has it all a gorgeous hero Kalan and a very vulnerable heroine Jenna whom journey to the best HEA but the path is hot with a very exotic flavour.
Jenna Martin is an ordinary woman from Boston she leads a very ordinary life very apple pie she is a journalist who gets her job done nothing spectacular this is Jenna talking not necessarily what other people think she has had a couple of bad relationships and she has a couple of girlfriends who are very good at setting missions for her. So when she is sent to the Middle East to do a story on a holiday resort the girlfriends set her a mission one that will have you smiling and when she gets lost in the desert and ends up at Qasr Al Mataz the home of billionaire Kalan Al Talyani well does this mission take on a life of its own.
Kalan is single gorgeous and smart and he is taken with Jenna at their first meeting and their discussion will have you laughing truly their banter is amazing Kalan is amazing himself what a guy honest he says what he thinks and really makes Jenna think but she has a lot to overcome and their first night together he pulls out all the stops my God he seduces her in so many ways, but he doesn’t quite convince her to stay, so when she gets back to Boston things are very different for Jenna and Kalan is craving her.
This story had me turning the pages yes it is one hot and steamy story keep a fan a glass of ice water at the ready but it is moving and emotional as Kalan convinces Jenna what love truly is I want Kalan OMG what a hero and when Jenna finally gets IT wow it is fabulous the scenery the characters the story amazing I loved visiting UAE. Thank you MS Tremayne I loved it and this one is going to stay with me for a long time to come.
Now You're Mine...I wish the hero would say that to me! Kalan is that dark-haired, confident hero that saunters off the pages right into your arms (I wish!). Jenna is a heroine we can all relate to...witty and capable but with charming flaws. The pace is fast but eloquent. You are transported to the romantic desert and to Boston but all the while the relationship between Kalan and Jenna is central. The love scenes are scorching but not gratuitous because you can feel the genuine tension, want and desire between the characters. A really solid, fun, well-written and balanced book full of tenderness and love....and hot love scenes.
Loved this story so much. Kalan is to die for. Jenna is on a journey of discovery. Kalan is very sure of who he is and what he wants and he wants Jenna. She did something out of the ordinary in her ordinary life. West meets East. Travelling to the Middle East, her first trip out of America for work, her friends send her on a mission, if she dared and she dared. A very hot sexy read about passion, lust, and finding out who you really are. Sent there to do a review of a resort turned into also doing an interview that turned her world on its ear. Waking her to the real world of passion, fulfilment and then headed back to Boston. Once you step out of your comfort zone it is very hard to get back. She was apple pie, he was Turkish delight. Their world so far apart, but sometimes it us ourselves, who put up barriers that aren't really there. She wanted one thing, and he wanted more that was tearing them apart. A wonderfully written story by Avril Tremayne and so in love Kalan, a soul of poetry. Jenna is funny, sassy and struggles emotionally. The HEA is worth all the struggle. We all have to find equal ground. Not one or the other. Now you're Mine!
I loved this book. I was swept away to another land, surrounded by exotic spices and fragrant flowers, lulled to sleep under a canopy of stars on a warm Arabian night. I could picture Kalan so well, having been to Dubai twice over the last six months, and witnessing the beauty of the expensively well dressed Arabian men in their full traditional robes. These men are stunningly handsome, majestic, and charismatic, shaved and coiffed to perfection. It was not hard to imagine Jenna being swept away by Kalan's commanding presence.
The love story of Jenna and Kalan played out over 282 pages, all of them beautifully written with a humourous tweak now and again, which had me smiling, and often laughing. Avril knows how to tease and twist the reader's emotions, to elicit tension and wonder, resulting in the desired "one more chapter before bed" response.
I feel all the warm and fuzzies you are supposed to feel finishing a good love story.
It took me a while to get into it, partly because we were on holidays and driving around a lot (I can't read paper books in the car), partly because I was struggling to be pulled in by the characters. I got really frustrated with Jenna and her tunnel vision. Also, I didn't like her friends. At all. To me they just use her to make themselves feel better. Kalan seemed to have this endless well of patience, waiting and waiting and waiting for Jenna to see/feel what he was seeing/feeling and I don't understand why he didn't use his words sooner. That's what I tell my kids all the time: "Use your words."
I love Avril's style of writing, and this book was no different. The sex scenes were sizzling hot and never gratuitous, and I really loved it when Jenna finally found her backbone at the end and stood up for herself.
This book is sexy, fun, exotic, funny, touching...I could go on and on. Jenna and Kalan are well-developed characters who grow personally and have very HOT sex! The dialogue is very real and quick and fantastic. You get caught up in it and don't want to stop reading. I loved the setting and descriptions--I even felt like I learned a lot from this book.
Kalan is one of the best heroes I've ever read. He's intense and focussed on what he wants and I was completely swooning over him.
Unfortunately his lucky heroine is not in the right place to accept Kalan's love and attention. Jenna seems so immature and self-centred for much of this book, I found her downright annoying. She's on a journey of self-discovery and while it's evident she finds herself overwhelmed by much of what she's experiencing, including culture shock and the depth of his feelings, there are a few flashes of personal growth that gave me hope for her. By the time she and Kalan get their HEA, it seems like she's finally ready to be a partner to him.
The story is well-written and the descriptions of Kalan's world really drew me in. If you like alpha heroes, Kalan will absolutely delight you.
I have re-read this several times now and upgraded it to 4.5 stars. I am much more understanding of Jenna’s journey now and have more empathy for her position than when I first read it.
I think Avril has really pulled it out of the bag with this deeply emotional and fascinating story. Her understanding of the cultural differences seeps through every page and makes this far more interesting and insightful than the usual romance with the ‘Middle Eastern setting’.
Why not 5stars? Well, I would have liked an epilogue - I am a real fan of good epilogues set a few years down the line so that’s why I’ve held back but actually it is a 5 star read!
Original review Like many of the other reviewers, I found the heroine rather annoying at times as she took far too long to understand herself. I really liked Kalan; he was such a different type of hero to the norm, and I also really liked the insight into the culture. I liked her family and the scenes with them were great. Disliked her ‘ friends’ and I was really pleased when she finally saw through them. Throughout it all, Kalan was a really great guy. What a fabulous hero!
Very well written with sizzling scenes all the way through. But to tell you the truth, I was a bit sick of Jenna's indecision and was quite over her by the end. Loved Kalan's character though, but I'm not sure I would have been as nice to Jenna as he was. It was an intense, dramatic story told in Jenna's POV only.
Enjoyed the first half of this book more than the second half. The female lead really started to get on my nerves with all the backwards and forwards between what she wanted and didn't want. Plus it felt think no one was on her side expect the guy that she was pushing away.
