3 holiday stories by one of your favorite Christmas authors, Judy Moore. Airport Christmas Getting snowed in on an airport layover during Christmas would be a terrible experience for most people. But for thirteen-year- old Jack, twelve-year- old Ethan, and eleven-year- old Lily, it's the adventure of a lifetime. Traveling by themselves from their mother's house in San Diego to their father's in Florida, the kids learn to fend for themselves as well as bring some Christmas cheer - and even love - to other stranded passengers. The Holiday House Sitter A recent graduate of UCLA, Molly McAlister has just landed her first job and loves it. The problem is her demanding boss, who seems to think he's in charge of her free time too. Under threat of layoff, her boss manipulates her into giving up Christmas with her family in Florida to pet-sit his two beloved purebred poodles. When Molly arrives at his house in Santa Monica a few days before Christmas, she learns she must also watch two ill-tempered Rottweilers, Darth and Vader, who scare her to death. His hypercritical wife seems to think Molly is a maid too, and leaves her a long list of chores and rules. Molly's expecting to have a miserable Christmas, but things start to look up when she meets the boy next door and his family. Unfortunately, they're embroiled in a neighborhood feud with her boss. The Hitchhiker on Christmas Eve It's Christmas Eve, and Renee is a mess. She has barely slept or eaten for two weeks. Her hair is ratted, her eyes are puffy and bloodshot, and her clothes are filthy. In the throngs of an anxiety attack, she decides to commit suicide by jumping off a nearby bridge, though the thought of it terrifies her. As she drives toward the bridge through the Virginia countryside, she considers driving into an oncoming cement truck. But at the last moment, she can't do it. Then, she sees a dark, foreboding man hitchhiking. On a whim, she stops and picks him up. What does it matter anyway? But she immediately regrets her decision. Who is the intimidating, tattooed hitchhiker - and what are his plans for her?

Just ok. Liked the first and third stories, hated the petsitter one. She should have told her jerk of a boss and his "B"of a wife to kiss her grits! Anyone that would allow someone to put all that on them deserves what she got!
Great read especially during the holidays Ms Moore brings all of her characters to life bringing smiles and sadness into each book. Loved them all and highly recommend
Airport Christmas Jack, Lily and Ethan get snowed in at the airport, along with hundred's of other passengers. For the next three days, they construct a fort, play matchmaker, build a snowman family outdoors and put on a Christmas Eve show to help pass the time. They use some of their money to buy warm clothing to withstand the cold. Ethan sells drawings to make extra cash for food. The antics of these children will keep you turning the pages!
The Holiday House Sitter Molly can't go home for the holidays because her controlling boss wants to take his wife to Aspen for Christmas and her to house sit and watch their two poodles. Besides leaving a long to do list for her, her boss volunteers for her to pet sit for several other families of his HOA. One of the neighbors has two unfriendly Rottweilers that scare her to death. The Hitchhiker On Christmas Eve Renee is thirty-two and at the end of her rope. She isolated herself from her family because they didn't approve of her boyfriend/fiancée. After he dumps her for his fitness trainer, she's devastated. Before she reaches her destination, she see's a hitchhiker and stops to give him a lift. What's the worst that could happen, she asks herself? Worse case scenario, he'll do what she's afraid to do, but feels that she must. What she doesn't count on, is him changing her life forever…
Having read and enjoyed other books written by Judy Moore, Somebody Killed The Golf Cart Girl and Birds of Prey, I was anxious to get my hands on Judy's newest story. Airport Christmas was completely enjoyable. Anyone who flies around a peak holiday travel season knows the frustration. The main characters are children who, much to the chagrin of their parents, become stranded at the airport in Denver where they were to have changed planes. The kids are neither adequately dressed nor financially prepared for the Denver Christmas blizzard. With mom in California and dad in Florida, the siblings cleverly embrace their situation, making many friends among the throngs of passengers and airport staff along the way. They bicker, they fight, they act like kids. But in the end, ............ Oh, I won't spoil it for you pick up the book and read!
Ms. Moore has cleverly crafted a unique Christmas story in The Hitchhiker on Christmas Eve. Despondent over a failed relationship, Renee is suicidal. Impetuously, she offers a ride to a total stranger she sees walking along a snowy rural Virginia road Their tension filled journey reveals two lives full of both hope and regret, as these two people, whose lives have taken them in different directions, find common ground.
In The Holiday House Sitter, Molly, the young Ingénue, is eager to please her boss. Concerned that she might lose her job and in need of the extra income, Molly accepts his offer to housesit over the holidays. Multiple complications arise, and Molly not only manages to overcome each one, but also turn the tables on her presumptuous boss.
All three of these Christmas stories by Judy Moore are wonderful! All are lighthearted easy-to-read stories, but they're also all different as to subject and characters, which means you won't feel like you're reading the same story over and over. The characters are complex and well-defined, and each story has its own twists and turns. One totally delightful story is about how three siblings traveling alone occupy themselves (and their fellow travelers) while stranded at an airport. Another story is a mystery about a murder discovered by a family while visiting together at their home in Vail. With all the twists and turns in the plot, you'll have a hard time guessing who did it. The third story brings together a hitchhiker and a depressed young woman who's not sure she made a good decision to pick up the hitchhiker.
