The book I read was Shih Tzu by Tammy Gagne. This book is about the proper care taking for a shih tzu. This books purpose is to teach the reader the proper ways to care for a shih tzu if you were to get one. I feel the author successfully provides information on the different topics of taking care of a shih tzu. The author wrote this uniquely because along with the text, she added pictures.

The authors tone was more of a dry, academic tone. To make this book better, I would make the tone more kid-friendly, and not as boring to the reader. I find this book somewhat boring because it tells you exactly how to take care of the shih tzu. While telling exactly what you need to do, having a more fun tone would make the reader keep their attention on the book and not drift off.

My favorite parts of the book were probably the pictures. Who ever took the pictures is a good photographer. The pictures were in color and up close pictures of dogs. The pictures enhance the reading because if you are a more visual person, you can look at the pictures, which relate to the text you just read.

I would recommend this book if you are planning on getting a shih tzu!
