A Good read with a nice and satisfying twist to it. This has more pathos and drama to it. Alice Sinclair is an orphan fortunate enough to be chosen (from the orphanage) as a hair dresser cum lady's maid to Lady Jane. The problem is, the lady's maid looks more an aristocrat than the Lady herself. Then we also have Connie, a catty and sluttish house help in the same household. Jewelry was missing, Alice was blamed and turned out without reference though Lady Jane could have saved her. Then Alice had an accident resulting into a head injury and thus memory loss. Enter a most unlikely hero ~ a misguided heir to a Dukedom but the care of an amnesiac (his horses caused Alice's injury) had the making of him. Finally, we have the reveal of Alice's true parentage and the conclusion of the Romance between Alice and her rescuer.
This was a fantastic, sweet Regency fiction short story. The characters were heartwarming and I am really enjoying reading this author's books. Recommended!
