Disclaimer: I'm rating this based on my daughters' feelings about the book, not my own. I read this with them, one of the many Rainbow Fairy Magic books we've read since they discovered them earlier this year. They absolutely ADORE these books and while I find them redundant, tedious and boring, I will say that they are light-hearted and fun for my daughters, they are non-scary, they introduce elements of the fantasy genre, they don't involve horrible things happening to the protagonists like the parents being killed or kidnappings and such and therefore, they are absolutely wonderful books for girls (and boys, if they happen to like fairies) the age of my daughters (who are 5 and 7). They are also fairly short (well, this one is a little longer) and would therefore be great books for kids who are newly reading chapter books, as they would be able to be successful in reading the books and get the positive feeling of having read a book by themselves. That being said, I am looking forward to the day my daughters can read these themselves, although I am sure I will miss being asked to read to them.

My daughter fell in LOVE with this book. We haven't been able to crack longer chapter books yet, and this did it! I'm so excited to read more

Oh no! Mean Jack Frost is up to his nasty tricks again! He stole three magical pearls that Shannon the Ocean Fairy uses to control the oceans! The marine animals are now mixed up, the tides are wonky, and nighttime and daytime have flip-flopped! Shannon immediately asks Rachel and Kirsty, friends of the fairies, to help her get back the pearls. Will they find the pearls? Or will the ocean be forever changed? This is a wonderful book for 7-10 year olds. If you haven't looked at/read any other books by Daisy Meadows, you definitely should! They were some of the books that really got me into the fantasy genre. When I was 7, I thought the Rainbow Magic books were going to be scary because my friends told me they had goblins in them, but they weren't! They were really fun and quickly became one of my favorite series! The goblins are very comical and the illustrations help tone down the *scary factor,* if you will. I love these books and owe my love of reading chapter books to them. Follow @bronteandwilder on Instagram for more fun book recommendations!

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

Alice (age 6) says "they tried to get the pearls before it's too late, before the whole fairyland floods. There were 3 enchanted pearls - the moon Pearl, the dawn pearl and the twilight pearl. There's only 3 chapters cuz it's for early readers. It's really fun for kids, it has really bright and colourful pictures. Jack Frosts evil plans will never work for the fairies, cuz he's really Sneaky and they're clever. They are really really really really powerfuller than the goblins and Jack Frost. Spoilers!!!"

This was a nice special edition, and my child really enjoyed all of the narwhals. The book had some great moments, like the goblins in Hawaii. I enjoyed the goblins' fear of the dark, although it seemed like the solution for the second pearl could have branched out a bit. At the end of the day, the narwhals were the stars, so the book delivered on its promise. No scrambled letter search like some other special editions, but a fun book altogether.

This is a very cute adventure story of two friends Kirsty and Rachel. This isn't the first time that they encountered fairies as this is the 8th book I guess in the Rainbow Magic series but I cannot feel that I missed a lot with how they interact with Fairyland. I wish Jackfrost would do his revenge and gets defeated. Still, this is a cute story that I would be reading to my daughter.

My daughter loves this series and was really excited about this because she loves the ocean. She said that I had to read it. I liked this book first of all because it was three in one. I also love the ocean, so all the ocean critters in the book were enjoyable. The girls' adventures in this book were cute. I would recommend this to younger fairy loving readers.

Writing for my 8 year old daughter. This book, like all in the Rainbow Magic series, are brilliant. They are the gateway drug - I mean book, to the reading world for young girls. Both of my daughters started falling in love and WANTING to read with this series.

It has cute narwhals and fairies, which meant my six year old loved it. I actually thought there were some decent plot ideas in this Rainbow Fairy book, which makes it one of the better ones in the series.

My niece has designed a pretty intense book club for the summer, and invited me to participate with this book. It was cute, and fun to both read and discuss together.

My favorite part of this book is when Shannon told Kirsty and Rachel about the waves because it was going closer to them. I think this book is really cool because they get to breathe underwater.

A very cute, magical adventure story suitable for young readers in between the ‘children’s novel’ and ‘young adult’ genres.

I had heard a lot of hype for this novel. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. It fell a bit flat. I liked the other books in the anthology a lot better.

Read dozens of these to my daughters. You can finish them in 1-2 days. They’re formulaic but the kids still love them.
