I like the straightforward and easy to understand setup of this devotional. Each month has a theme and each daily devotion is dated. Each devotional page begins with the presentation of a Bible verse, followed by a couple of short paragraphs of discussion about the verse. Josh McDowell then wraps it all up in a “Truth is” statement, followed by a short prayer.

I absolutely loved the “Truth is” statements. They hit the mark and got straight to the fact of the matter. These truths, and the way they are presented at the end of the devotion, will be what really sticks with the teen as they go through the day or as they are falling asleep at night.

The devotions should not take very long for a teen to add to their busy lives and cover a wide range of topics. Hopefully the reader will also be doing some deeper Bible reading, too, but I definitely recommend this clear and easy to understand guide.

#Truth
365 Devotions for Teens
Connecting Life and Faith
By Josh McDowell

Looking for a devotional that will take you through the year?

Well, #Truth from Josh McDowell just might be what you are looking for. Each month is themed meaning the devotions fall under this theme.

And as a point of note #Truth has 29 days in February so you can read this devotional any year. Though this devotional is targeted at teens the messages are of importance to all who want to learn more about God and the truth about Him. Each day is a whole page - no shared pages or days with this devotional.

What is each month's focus you ask? Here is a brief synopsis along with the stated theme at the beginning of each month.

January = An Awesome God
The power of God over life and nature and His holy and pure being are examined.

February = Totally Inspired
God's words won't change or end while this world exists and we can know His thoughts through the Bible, which reveals all we need to know.

March = You Choose
Sin is a choice and we need to determine if we will choose to follow and trust God or choose the separation that sin brings.

April = He Entered My World
Jesus gave up His divine powers to experience life as us so that we would have the chance to know eternal life and freedom from sin's deadly consequences.

May = The Price of Forgiveness
Humanity's redemption was at the cost of Jesus' death and His temporary separation from God as He took our sins upon Himself.

June = The Power to Save
Salvation is a gift from God, not something we can boast of earning. God alone has this power, He is the only way to salvation and life after death if we accept His gift.

July = A New Person
Accepting God's gift makes us want to change, to be who we were meant to be if sin hadn't had an effect on us.

August = No End in Death
Death was the sacrifice that Jesus made to save us, but His death would have been meaningless if He had not risen from death. He conquered sin and death with His resurrection.

September = Empowered
The Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) was the internal presence of God in the life of those who believed (trusted) that Jesus was the Son of God. This presence identifies us as being with God and allows us to exhibit spiritual gifts.

October = How You View the World
A relationship with God changes how we see our place in the world, we view ourselves as members of a kingdom that has not yet come, to our perspective, in a physical sense, a kingdom free of sin and death.

November = Real Community
The true Church is not a building but rather all believers (think how all the different parts of your body make up you) the same is true of the Church. We are there to comfort and to encourage one another and be thankful for ALL He has done for us.

December = Waiting for His Return
After He arose from His death Jesus ascended into Heaven (which can be a difficult concept to fully understand). He remains there today waiting for us while preparing a new home that is without sin, sorrow, or pain.

This is a perfect start or end to your day - a way to learn more about God and His gift given freely to any willing to accept it. The devotionals passages are not overwhelming in giving too much, but rather a small portion perfect for reflection and examination upon finishing.

"#Truth 365 Devotions for Teens Connecting LIFE and FAITH" by author Josh McDowell is a paperback one year devotion for teenagers. Published by Barbour it is packed full of inspiration for middle and high schoolers. The cover is plain white and to the point: #truth. Teens don't want a lot of extras. Just get to the point with them.

Author McDowell has written a lot of books. He relates well to family and children, having four kids and ten grandkids of his own. This devotional shows how he knows teens and to talk to them.

In this book, each month takes on a different truth or topic. All twelve of them are things teenagers ask about and wonder. The daily devotions themselves are only one page long. Long enough to make a point and short enough to fit into a busy schedule or maintain interest. The date and title is at the top of the page. Next comes a scripture reading, the questions, truth is answer, and a prayer closes the day. It is simple, easy, and powerful. McDowell takes faith and life for teenagers and joins them together. He presents truth and answers questions that will assist in spiritual growth and everyday walk with God.

This is a well written, organized, thought provoking book. It will encourage, enlighten, and engage all readers. Topics are relevant. Each month a truth is discussed. Here is a sampling of the first quarter.

January: The Truth That God Exists
February: ...About God's Word
March: ...About Original Sin
April: ...About God Becoming Human

I, as a grandmother, even enjoyed and was inspired by this book. On my grandmother's birthday the devotion was about not worrying. "Give Worries Away." That is something everyone struggles with from time to time, and my grandmother would often say not to worry. It was extra special to read that message on what would have been her birthday. The devotion was great, too.

There is nothing in this book except one page devotions. No acknowledgements, nothing about the author, no group study questions. The first page starts January, An Awesome God and the last page is December 31 Forever Grateful. This is for broadening a relationship with Abba. I highly recommend it. It would be the perfect Christmas gift, birthday gift, or just because gift. A 5 out of 5 star rating from me for this awesome book! My Review:

Josh McDowell is and always will be a favorite in our home. I really enjoy his thoughts on the apologetics subject and so I thought this devotional would be a good one for my teenagers. Turns out I was right. They enjoyed the feel of this devotional. It is a one on one approach. Which pretty much is how this author operates. My kids and myself like that type of approach. It felt as if he was talking directly to them about God and life in general.

The author chooses the shortest lesson possible which is good for my teenagers. They want to connect each day with Jesus but they are always in a hurry. But in my mind I'm just glad at least they settle down long enough for a little bit of Jesus. This devotional is good all year long. With 365 days worth of Jesus, your teen has the opportunity to go out in the world that day a world changer. They will be armed with a solid truth to share with humanity.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

Excellent Daily Devotional for Teens
Josh McDowell’s book of devotionals for teens is an easy read with Biblical truths for every day of the year. Each day includes a Bible verse then goes into a short discussion of the verse as it impacts a teen’s life and follows that with a “Truth Is” statement and then a prayer. The theme of this book #Truth: Connecting Life and Faith does just that as McDowell presents these truth in a way that will speak to teens. I was impressed with the format of the book as each month shares a common theme. Each theme being vital to a developing young believer. Here are the themes: The Truth That God Exists, About God’s Word, About Original Sin, About God becoming Human, About Christ’s Atonement For Sin, About Justification Through Faith in Jesus Christ, About Living the Transformed Life, About Jesus’ Bodily Resurrection, About The Trinity, About God’s Kingdom, About The Church and About Christ’s Return.
I am very impressed with this book and would recommend it to anyone who is interesting in understand the truths of God and how to live that out in everyday life. The book is plain and simple in looks and is not hard to read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.  For many years I have been a subscriber of the YouVersion App and with four children - three of whom are still teenagers, I spend a lot of time looking for resources for them to get them into God's Word.  Josh McDowell does an excellent job of filling that need.

This book includes 365 devotions for teenagers that connect life with faith.  The Scripture passages are relatively short and easy to read.  He then includes a short passage with some explanations or insight into the passage being read.  Each day also includes a section which begins with "Truth is...." where Josh McDowell offers additional facts and information. At the end of each day is a section entitled "My Prayer", which gives the reader a chance to have an already made prayer.  I definitely recommend this book.

I love one-page devotions, especially when their brevity doesn’t compromise their inspirational value and impact. The title is timely, eye-catching, and appropriate for young readers.

#Truth covers a year of daily devotions, with each month carrying a collective theme, rather than in a random pattern. Although the target audience of this book is teens, the messages apply to all readers, despite their ages.

Each page contains a date, title, Bible verse/reading(s), devotion, truth, and prayer. (Most scriptures are quoted from the NLV, but many others are also included.)

One of the objectives of this book is to help teens/readers make a solid connection of faith to their lives. The devotions are easy to understand, concise, and insightful. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

A well written and insightful devotional, filled with a year's worth of Biblical truths.

I liked the format of this book and thought that it was easy to read. Each daily entry was formatted the same way, starting with a portion of scripture in the section "My Bible Reading." The "Truth is" sections were filled with everyday, meaningful, life applications. I loved the "My Prayer" sections, as each one took lessons from the life applications and zoned them into a focused prayer for each day.

This book was written for teens, but many others would benefit from reading it.

My favorite entries were focused on being thankful and grateful. This book was filled with so many good truths to think about and focus on. Read it and be blessed.

#truth 365 Devotions for Teens is an excellent tool to help the teens today. I like how each month shares a common theme for example: January: The Truth That God Exists, and November: The Truth about The Church. Each day is one page and has a short Bible reading, a short explanation, and a "Truth is" statement and a prayer. Teens usually keep busy and this book would not weigh the teen down since it is short and very effective.

I like the format and the easy reading style. A very helpful way to guide a teen to take the right path.

A daily devotional for teens, this book is laid out with one devotion per day, each a page in length. The topics are set one per month, with a daily devotional based on that topic each day of the month. Each day is a situation that may be faced in life and includes scripture to go with it, the truth of the situation, and a prayer that can be used.

Author Josh McDowell does a great job of connecting with teens and speaking straight to them. This book would be a great gift for the young person in your life!

I enjoyed the concept of this devotional for teens. I like that each month has a theme and each day is dated for easy reference. It starts with a Bible reading, discusses it, then I loved the Truth is part, and closes with a prayer. Great way for a teen to start their day before facing the world. I look forward to sharing with my grandson. Easy to understand and Josh MnDowell has a way of connecting with teens. I recommend this not only for teens but for the parents as well.

This is a good resource for older teens and those wanting a faith based devotional for the year. It clearly marks sections of scripture, truth, your prayer for the day and something to ponder. I love the clean layout of the pages and sections. I would have preferred the use of just the KJV of the bible. All in all a good resource. This is a very nice devotional book for teens. It starts with a verse of scripture, followed by a short devotion, a "Truth is..." summary from the author and finally an example prayer. I felt that these devotions were perfect for teens. They were short, but meaningful. I felt that the topics chosen would be applicable to teens. I recommend!!

Excellent 366 day devotional (includes a devotional for leap day) for young people with one or two key verses for the day, a short devotional reading, a statement of truth, and a prayer with each one. Each day will only take 2/3 minutes to read so very practical for today's busy teen.

My favorite part is the truth statements as it is a snippet of truth they can hold unto in their mind for the day as they live in a world that tells them truth is relative. But this reminds them that God and His Word is never changing. Additionally, each month has a particular truth focus such as July is 'Truth about living the transformed life'. February is 'Truth about Gods Word'. So each day within that month builds on that theme.

Also, I love the title of # (hashtag) Truth, very catchy and relevant in a teens world revolving around social media.

While I'm not a teen myself, I work with young people in the church, and have young people in my family including my daughter who I'm going to share this book with as I know she will enjoy it immensely. In fact, I think this would be an excellent Christmas gift for the nieces and nephews this year. What better gift than truth for their hearts and minds.

Highly recommend for young people and families alike. Could even be used as a family devotional if your children are preteen, teen or young adult. Get your copy today.

Wow! Josh McDowell has been speaking to teenagers for decades, yet he manages to stay relevant to their needs and the world they live in.

This devotional is broken into monthly chapters with headings such as The Truth that God Exists; The Truth about Christ's Atonement for Sin, and The Truth about the Trinity. Josh is not reluctant to delve into some difficult topics and he does so in his forthright manner; a manner that teenagers respect.

Each day is one page long and designed to give the busy teenager something to chew on throughout the day, in the short, concise and direct manner Josh McDowell is known for.

I highly recommend this devotional for your teenager. I also think it would be great for use with youth groups. Teenagers want direct. They want someone to just tell them like it is. Josh McDowell gets that.
