Both camera settings and digital photography basics are explained - I have quickly got closely familiar with the D56000 features mapped to my needs. Each chapter is useful, clear and just interesting. The level of material is well adjusted to my current skills and knowledge (will probably be true also for other readers who start with Nikon D5600 camera).
For a reference book this worked well to get me up to speed on using the NIKON D5600. I read much of the text and learned some about the technical terms. The level was higher than my understanding for some topics.
First, I'll never mark this book as 'read', simply because it is such a great users' manual and the Nikon 5600 is so extensive in its capabilities. The book is well-organized, with plenty of explanatory photographs showing how to use the camera. Techniques from very basic, fully-automatic still image shooting to quite advanced photography are clearly described. Adequate time is also spent describing video shooting, but my interests lie in the still image, so I have only scratched the surface to date.
A recent upgrade in the Kindle reader app for Android now allows the user to advance by scrolling down versus turning to the next page. This essentially removes page breaks, allowing one to view, for example, a description on one page followed by a photo on the next, where the page break would split your view from one page to the next. This makes it super-easy to read this on a phone!
The book does also hit the basic points of photography, for those of you who never had the opportunity to learn your fundamentals shooting 35mm SLR's.
Great reference for anyone, beginners through advanced shooters, who wants to up their game with the Nikon 5600 DSLR camera.
This is such a wonderful improvement over having just the downloaded Nikon manual for this camera. The author provides insight in how to use the myriad of choices that can be made for the various settings available on the D5600. He includes the settings that he uses for different photos, and explains why he likes those settings. I found that to be a great help, and it has helped me make even better photos.
My last camera was the Nikon D5100, and I will probably buy the D5100 book by the same author and give it to the person now using that camera. And, after reading the Kindle version of the D5600 book, I purchased the print version as well.
I highly recommend this book for owners of the Nikon D5600, regardless of experience level.
