Escorting Eric is Rob Radcliffe’s hugely anticipated sequel to debut novel Meat Market and this time it is Stu’s turn to tell the story.
Stu’s best mate Greg has just been dumped and Stu has taken it upon himself to show Greg the way back to singledom. This is Stu’s calling. The professional male escort has found a protégé to mentor. Stu though has a secret, like juggling his work escorting women all over the globe, and trying to keep his bride to be happy, a bride to be who has no idea what he does for a living.
Rob Radcliffe was born and raised in Lancashire, England. He is a fiction author and novelist, and newly formed bloggist (it’s catchier than blogger).
He spends the majority of his days with his head in the clouds, sometimes coming back down to earth just long enough to turn those daydreams into stories by actually writing them down.
Rob writes across several genres, ‘lad’ lit (which would be chick-lit’s naughty younger brother), thrillers, and sci-fi.
Despite his appearance in his head shot, Rob does come in colour…and usually with both ears.
Rob’s books are a mixture of coming of age testosterone, action, humour and general silliness. A great place to start would be at the beginning of each book, he feels they work better that way.
This is the second in the lad lit series following on from Meat Market, and I loved both books, but maybe this one more. This is from Stu's POV. The author has written this as if you are in the story with Stu. I absolutely loved this! Stu has a heart of gold when being there for his best friend who is going through a bad break up and is determined to get him to shine in the end. Unfortunately, his own happiness is doomed when it comes to his relationship after a slip-up that was going to happen at some point. The ending is lovely, though, for Stu and his route to happiness.
Highly recommend this sometimes sarcastic but witty read!
If you've read Meat Market, this "sequel" tells the story from Stu's POV, adding the things going on in his life.
Having just read Meat Market, it was somewhat annoying to have to reread a large part of it again, but Stu's story is just as, if not more than, interesting as Greg's. Definitely worth a read. Hopefully, "lad-lit" will catch on!
This one wasn't for me.. I get its book two, told from a different POV, but i thought the first one was funny.. there's was very little funny out this one.
I didn't really get a lot of it.. he had a great job he loved and a great girl.. he fucks it all up, then leaves everything he loves... dont really see what's so funny about that. Made me feel bit sorry for him... maybe I missed something
Book 2 of the revised and edited Lad-Lit series (Red Cover) introduces the mentoring by Stu of ‘Eric’ into the male escort service singles scene. Both have reached rock bottom after losing their significant other, as a beginning or an end of the relationship.
This is a continuation of the series from a different character’s perspective, and a well developed humorous (UK) story line.
