This useful handbook was written for those who want to become acquainted with the basic concepts and principles of soils but are not ready for an extensive study. Includes an assortment of helpful tables, maps and line drawings.
Good introduction to soil science with useful charts for illustration. It focuses just on soils of the United States - but, given how geographically varied the country is, that still gives you plenty of soil types to study.
Very simple and brief. Probably not a reference book you want or need to own but I'd grab it from the library if you want to learn the basics about soil formation etc
straightforward summary - probably intended more for a person running a larger operation than I intend to run with a bunch of raised beds and a front lawn. I have a better appreciation of chemistry at work as a result.
