Well... I think this is a great book. I just don't think it's a great book for me. There is a lot of really wonderful and important knowledge presented in this book, in terms of creating structure, sweetness, and space in your life, but it's at a fairly basic level and I feel like it's a lot of what I've already learned and know. Of course, that doesn't mean I've actually implemented it all into my life already, so I do intend to go back and work with some of the practices and rituals, but in terms of the actual text I wasn't wowed. That being said, I think others could definitely benefit from this book. It just didn't light me up. When I'm reading a book in the "self-help" category I want to be excited about what I'm reading, and I just wasn't. I couldn't wait to put it down and get on to the next book on my list. To be honest, I just skimmed the last 100 pages. Anyway - it's a good book, I just didn't love it for me. Maybe going back and taking some more time with the exercises will improve the way I feel about it, but for now I'm giving it 3 stars.

The Well Life focuses on three simple principles for creating a balanced and satisfying life, while explaining that the secret to living an exceptional life is finding balance. The authors, Briana & Dr. Peter Borten, have included a variety of strategies that you can use to achieve this all-important balance in your life, even when living in a stressful lifestyle. The Bortens focus on three fundamental principles to a satisfying life; Sweetness, which they explain as learning the importance of feeding your life, body and soul. Structure, which they explain is finding out how intelligent structure can give you more freedom and spontaneity and how you can liberate yourself from an excessively busy life. And space, where they explain how to carve out purposeful space, which allows for individual perspective and hopefully an understanding of the big picture and your place in it. There theory in this book is that by adding and maintaining sweetness, structure and space, you will be able to let go of the stress and tension that gets in the way of being happy, authentic and fulling present in your life.

The Well Life is divided into 3 parts; Foundation, Resources for Thriving and Who Are You And What Do You Want?, that are then divided into several chapters. In the first part, Foundation, the authors talk about the three elements mentioned above, practices for mind-body health and freeing yourself of emotional baggage. In the second part, Resources for Thriving, the authors talk about energy, confidence and community. In the third part, Who Are You and What Do You Want, the authors talk about finding out what "lights you up", defining what will make your "well life", opening up your life, connecting to spirit and integrating your well life. Each chapter talks about the specific topics, gives some facts about it, presents questions you can ask yourself to help you in that specific area and then gives some tips on how to improve that area of your life.

I have read many books about health, happiness and finding joy in your life. This book covers many topics that I have read about in many other books. The book has a good approach and the chapters are easy to read and do provide some good tips and ideas about to find balance and happiness in your life. Most of the books I have read in this area in the past are Christian based books, which is fine for me as I am a Christian. But it is also nice to read books from a different perspective about these topics. I found that this book was well rounded on the topics it presented and it contained practical advice about to practice a better mind-better connection and how to find balance and peace in your life. If you have read a lot of books in this area, you may find it a bit repetitive in the information that is presented. Thank you to the publisher for sending me a review copy of this book. Happy reading!

Simple and easy these authors, with their wealth of wisdom, knowledge and experience, have written a truly useful resource to help you get your life on track and then continue to live your life well. I read this book from cover to cover so I could develop questions for an on-air interview. BUT, this book is really a great tool, to be used by the reader daily or weekly, or whenever you need a reminder to get yourself in sync with a well life. There are so many options, which take so little time yet, the results you will find are immediately noticeable and huge! Highly recommended.

I have loved the Dragontree Dreambook & Planner and the online course that Briana and Peter Borten offer to help people use their dreambooks. The Well Life contains many of the key concepts which help us find health and balance in our lives. In it we find the true value of sweetness, structure and space. It starts with our ability to honor our agreements with ourselves and others, then builds on ways to enhance our own power, confidence and tap into our values and superpowers. I highly recommend it as a good book by itself or to go with the Dreambook and Planner.

The Bortons are a talented couple. Peter is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Briana is more crystals and energetic fields. But this book has a lot of solid psychology behind it akin to ACT therapy but presented in a very accessible and comforting way. You don’t have to join a new religion, you just have to learn what you need and feed it, and conversely learn what’s holding you back and leave it behind.

Very practical read on how to find a balanced life. I wasn't blown away by any new knowledge, but rather reminded of things that I already know and need to bring back to the forefront of my mind.

This is a good personal development book for someone who is just getting to these kinds of books. It was interesting reading about a doctor's perspective on topics such as nutrition and meditation, but I was not very familiar with the Qui. Structure, sweetness, and space are 3 huge topics and I think this book did a great job incorporating them in a mind, body, and spirit way.

Read and ReRead It

The Well Life offers something often lacking in self-help books, and that is physical, practical solutions on how to change your life. The authors' space/structure/sweetness method makes sense to analytical minds as well as those more spiritually inclined.

This is the sort of book to return to repeatedly as time goes by, to try on a new idea and perhaps recognize mastery over an old skill. Much of what the authors say feels like coming home, and honoring the self as valuable.

Recommended for anyone willing to do the work on themselves and the world to make it a better place.

I've read the ebook several times, and it's a great resource. now listening to the audible version and it's lovely listening to the authors voices narrate the book and its like a coaching session. and reminds me to refer to the book more often.

This is a book I will re-read and contemplate as I continue on my journey in this life. Great companion to my Rituals of Living Dreambook Journal.
