*WARNING-If you haven't read the first three books in this series, TURN back now, spoilers dead ahead*

Round about the cauldron go…

Jett Gosse has been labeled a lot of things in her long life.

Witch. Bitch. Tattoo artist. Sword swinger. Big Sister.

Sticks and stones and all that jazz. She’s never let it bother her.
Until now.

Murderer.

But her heart was in the right place…

Wasn’t it?

Stephen Krueger doesn’t think so.
Who gives a damn if Jett is his mate? Or that she may hold the key to a curse that’s hung over his family for generations?

The newly-crowned king of the bears has sworn off witches and that’s that.

Except…

Witches are disappearing. In the aftermath of Herne’s demise, nobody has been paying attention. Except Jett. What she finds at the end of this rabbit’s hole is going to take her back to a past she’s been trying to outrun for almost two hundred years.

A past that only one very stubborn bruin can save her from.

Pass the salt and lime, it’s going to be a hell of a ride.

IT'S FINALLY LIVE! Get your copy!

4.5 FURFACE STARS

"I lost my best friend.
I lost my woman."

Before I begin this review I must state that I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW. And if you have been following my reviews, you know that I don't do many ARCs and YES I've been approached several times to do this. But for this book, I "harassed" poor Ms. Blair for a copy and she graciously gave me one.
THANK YOU!

Now to start my review I will beginning by saying before this book I HATED THIS HEROINE.
WHY?
Well she killed her sister!
I mean, she literally stabbed her in the back.
What kind of Messed up person does this!?
So Jett was not going to work for me unless she had some serious reasons for doing this!
And it turns out her reasons were KILLER GOOD!
OH MY GOD!
My mind was blown and I wasn't expecting this at all!

description

The hero, Stephan, I loved from the previous other books and in this one I had mixed feelings about him. In the first books, I received a few stollen moments of him and Jett together but they were not enough to tell me the whole story.
In this book he is King Stephan now, but he is not the Stephan I read in previous books.
In previous books he was all about Jett and making her happy.
And in this book he was mean, and unforgiving of his mate.
HONESTLY, I was shocked by his uncharacteristic cruel behaviour towards his mate, his ONE AND ONLY!

And after this exchanged I was confused.
“I’m fine. Unless I have to worry about a sword in the back. That’s your style nowadays, right?” I take a step back from the chair as the blood drains from my face.
"Get. Out.”
"Cruel doesn’t suit you, Stephen..."
“Really?....I heard it’s all the rage these days. Forget about finishing the tat, Jett. I don’t think it suits me either. Probably should have the damn thing removed.”

WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?
What has happened to the Alpha bruin?

description

This story takes off from there and doesn't stop! It does finally give me the answers I've been searching for and some much needed justification of past actions as well.
I won't give any more of this AMAZING story away but it's completely worth the read and if you still among the few who have never read this series, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
It really doesn't get any better than this!

description

I will also admit that I could not give this book the complete five star it rightfully deserves because I now have to wait again and beg again to have the next instalment from this series!!
I feel like a junkie (or at least what I believe a junkie would feel like) waiting for another hit so she can get high again!

description

Ahhhh well, I guess it's back to my.....

THOUGHTS BEFORE READING

CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE

description

But I know it will be worth it!
AND IT TOTALLY WAS!

I will have to wait for the next story......ahhhh!

Alright!!!! I Know I Read This In One Day But People It Is THAT FRICKEN Good.......

If You Have Not Read The First 3 Books In This Series You Do Not Want To Start With This One

First Of All Why The Hell Not??? It Is That Good And You Are Missing Out

Our Heroine Jett Is A Witch Badass Does Not Begin To Describe Her

I want to look like this:

Our Hero Stephen Is A Bear Shifter With The Ability To Make You Swoon

Image result for black bear gif
"Thought you were gonna swoon there for a minute, witchy woman."

I Made An Audible Sigh Everytime Stephen Showed Up

Stephen, inspiration (#2):

OMG The Banter In This Book Is Some Of The Best In The Series

"Karma's a Bitch. And very probably a witch, too."

Hilarious Fairy Tale Creatures With A Creative Sometimes Dark Slant

"Humans think of gnomes as chubby-faced drunk guys that bowl a lot, which is almost as stupid as the idea that leprechauns lurk at the end of rainbows carrying bowls of gold. Those little green fuckers are evil and more likely to crack your head open with said bowl and wash your brains down with a pint of Guinness.

Needless To Say, Nothing Got In The Way Of Reading This Book Today Not Food, Sleep Or A Shower (At Least I Brushed My Teeth)

This Book Was An ARC Which In No Way Reflects How I Feel About This Series.

I Love It And Cannot Wait For The Next One

I started this series back in 2016. I read and loved the first three books but just never continued on. So here I am ready to finish what I started.

This book features Jett and Stephen. And I think it just might be my favourite so far.

Jett is the toughest of the Gosse sisters. She’s lethal with a blade, cold and deadly. Everyone assumes she’s cold all the way through but is she really?
Her past has changed her.

Stephen is the new bruin king and Jett is his mate. But he can’t forgive her and it’s literally killing him.
Like Jett, Stephen is living with his past. In this book they have to face their fears.

The story and characters are great. I love a book with humour and strong females as well.

And seriously who wouldn’t want a bruin?

My fists clench at my sides as reason battles instinct. Instinct that insists I am responsible for the woman in front of me—making sure she eats like a queen, sleeps deeply each night and is satisfied in each and every way. Her being happy is my duty. My fucking purpose in life.

It’s straight onto Déjà Vu & Gin for me now.

You think this is just going to be an ordinary shifter/witch story with a little misunderstanding amid some steamy goodness but then…POW!!! You’ve got underground tunnels that hold secrets even the gnomes don’t know the answers to, young witches that are missing, European bruin royalty that aren’t what they seem and someone who is directing all of these shenanigans. You think you’re headed in one direction but oh baby, you couldn’t be more wrong!

Even as the answers come, more questions arise to take their place. What a wicked, wicked woman this author is and I’m loving her for it. Fast paced and full of action, I barely paused while reading this book.

I wasn’t sure how this author was going to make me like Jett because she was not my favorite in the previous books. I mean, after all, she did do THAT to you know who. Even if it did all work out in the end, it’s kind of hard to look past such an act. And Stephen definitely struggled to do so. However, as I began to love and appreciate Jett for who she was as not only a very powerful warrior witch but as a sister, daughter and yes, even a lonely woman, I didn’t truly appreciate her until I was given the hero’s POV. I loved being able to experience his thought processes along the way.

Of course there are all kinds of twisty turns and bends. Little things that you just wonder, “How the heck did Heather Blair even THINK of something like that?” Possibly I’m naïve, but that’s okay because I enjoy the little things. And don’t forget the POW moments…yes, moments. There are always more than one!

The biggest moment for me however, was before I turned to the first page of the first chapter. Ms. Blair’s dedication was absolutely inspiring and if you do not purchase this book for any other reason do so because a very large portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book is going to The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project, a place that provides therapeutic fun for children with disabilities.

I was kindly provided an arc of this book and this is most definitely an honest review.

If you follow my reviews, you know how much I loved the Toil and Trouble trilogy. When I learned the series was to be continued, showcasing Seph's sisters, I did a little happy dance then impatiently waited on pins and needles for the next installment.
I was afraid I was building the excitement too much in my head, sure I'd be letting myself in for disappointment. I'm happy to claim I didn't. While Threescore and Tequila is not better than Jack and Seph's story (let's face it that's a hard one to beat) it is just as good. I LOVED it.
Heather R Blair has a talent for making you guess then second guess, and just when you think you've got it right, she goes and proves you wrong. But I'm not going to get into all that, you need to read it to find out what I'm talking about. And read it you should. I cannot recommend this series enough. Start with Sixpence and Whiskey, I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Edited to fix book tittle from Threescore and Whiskey to Threescore and Tequila. Sorry I had visions of Jack floating through my brain when I wrote this. He's a bad influence *smirk*

Everyone lies. Even perfect, sainted Stephen. He lied when he said I was his. What's worse is that I was starting to believe the lie. Everyone thinks I'm so damn tough, so cold. The truth is, I've never been cold enough. - Jett

Her being happy is my duty. My f*cking purpose in life. The fact that Jett looks anything but happy has my bear climbing the walls. I force the guilt down. She's not mine. The lie makes me sick, but I repeat it. If I keep telling myself it often enough, maybe I can make it so. It's the only chance. For either of us. - Stephen

As per usual, things aren't always what they seem...

Before we begin...

For those of you who've read the series thus far, rest assured that 'Toil and Trouble' is definitely open for business and more than ready to whisk you off on yet another mind-twisting adventure filled with magic, misunderstandings, mayhem, madness and mystery. It's an alliterative bouquet, if you will, and all tied up with a hot, beautiful, sometimes humorous and romantic bow.

(So feel free to pull up a bar stool, grab a drink, and stay a while. Jack's somewhere in the back and Seph is busy cutting up lemons and limes because she feels like it. And with her, you just never know what she'll get up to - whether it's prepping fruit, casting spells, resurrecting the dead or a bit of matchmaking here and there. You know, the little things...)

And for those of you who haven't read the first three books in the series, I must insist that you go back to the beginning. Otherwise you'll be lost and missing significant pieces of this new and intriguing puzzle that incorporates both the past and present circumstances. You really don't want to miss anything...

Every person has at least one secret that would break your heart...

Jett Gosse (aka 'My Witch') is a badass, a serious bitch when necessary, a tattoo artist and a trained assassin, who's always on a mission of some kind or other that involves protecting others. She's learned to kick butt, compartmentalize her feelings, and put up walls to protect herself because she feels more deeply than most of those around her will ever realize. Between her difficult childhood, a nightmarish event in her past that left her with scars, as well as the brutal choices she was forced to make in order to , Jett is self-protective and guarded for understandable reasons.

Image result for the things you don't know can hurt you gif

But a certain gorgeous, kind, strong, funny, protective and determined bear shifter broke through those defenses for a little while, and declared that she was his mate.

At least until it all fell apart.

Stephen Kreuger (aka the bruin king aka 'furface'), has also had his share of pain in the past and is holding onto an awful secret that's a matter of life and death. On top of that, he's dealing with bruin politics, leadership issues, and the stunning blow that comes from learning the truth about Jett's actions and how much she hid from him. Feeling betrayed, he decides that he can't afford to be with a woman he can't trust. But Stephen learns that he can't afford not to take that chance and that he might have truly lost what matters most. He'll soon risk everything to be with her because the heart wants what it wants after all…

Before something great happens, everything falls apart...

A few things to note:

First, this story goes back and forth between past and present events. We get to see how Jett and Stephen's relationship developed in the past: the wonderful humour and banter between them, the fascinating battles, the sexual tension and intimacy, as well as the touching moments of sweetness, understanding and connection, that make it so clear that these two are meant to be.

Then we come back to the present where they are struggling in the aftermath of what took place in the first three books of the series. Secrets, misunderstandings, omissions and the like, are playing their part in driving these two apart and contributing to heartache on both sides. In the meantime, Jett is working hard and on her own (for the most part) to solve the unsettling mystery of the disappearing witches. She doesn't realize that her past and present are about to collide in a most evil and terrifying way...

Image result for you have to fight some bad days to earn the best days of your life

Aside from a few questions I had along the way - these are definite spoilers so please find the strength to resist if you don't want to know - I really enjoyed this tale, both the romance (Stephen is definite swoon material) and the mystery (So fun to keep on guessing...).

The author takes us on quite the ride, dropping clues along the way as to what's happening and happily leading us into mind pretzel territory while also building on the love story between Jett and Stephen, and putting all the pieces nicely into place for the next big adventure. I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming Déjà Vu & Gin.

Thank you, Ms. Blair.

If you haven't read the first three book in the series, Walk away. Then get those if you enjoy dark, edgy, urban fantasy.

Jett has been portrayed as a lone wolf, an artist and a witch with lethal sword fighting skills. People believe she's cold & indifferent and Jett is fine with their assumptions. She encourages the same. But after she took a tough decision, I needed to know what makes her tick.

Startling discovery : Jett has a sense of humor.
No fur, No fangs, No paws

Bruin history.
Probably why I used to have a thing for bruins. Emphasis on used to.

The author crafts compelling characters. They are far from perfect, flawed - this makes you root for them. Anyway, perfection is boring.

While we come across lots of fairy tale retellings, this book explores mythology in a fresh way. The result is complicated, bewitching world building.
No room for cliches.
Gnomes, however, are just tough, sarcastic buggers with an agenda as unpredictable as Mother Earth itself.

The book has 2 elements that take it from good to great.

First, it's the romantic relationship. Can you have a happy ending if you don't believe in one? You get to experience two different phases of the relationship : the courtship and when Jett and Stephen are apart. Sticks a sword through your heart and keeps you glued to the spot.

Second, an unpredictable plot. Anything can & does happen in this story world.

Stephen was strong, caring - juggling a relationship and the crown.

“I said you’re mine. It isn’t about taking anything away from you.
Isn’t it?” she whispers, sounding so lost and unsure it breaks me a little.
It’s about giving everything I am to you. Because when I say you’re mine, what it really means is, I’m yours.”

I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the book with my favorite Assassin of the Realm.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this just over two hours of receiving it because I could not put it down. It's not set to release until early Feb, so I'm going to hold off on reviewing it until closer to publication. Suffice to say, you should preorder this book. Hell, I did, and I knew I was getting an ARC. The Toil & Trouble series is fantastic. I love the characters. Jett was simply amazing. Tough, yet vulnerable. The stuff she's done to survive, wow. I have to admit, I'd love to see another book with Jett and some of her adventures.

***Edited to update my review now that the book is live***

I finished this just over two hours of receiving it because I could not put it down. The Toil & Trouble series is fantastic. I love the characters. They are complex, captivating, and full of contradictions. Take Jett, for example. She's tough, yet vulnerable. All about family, yet pushes them away. Hates bear shifters and falls in love with one. See, contractions. And the stuff she's done to survive, wow. I have to admit, I'd love to see another book with Jett and some of her adventures, especially since she was in the assassin's school for supernatural creatures. Tell me more!

Stephen... *swoons* Now there's a man you want by your side. How can you deny a man when he believes this "It's about giving everything I am to you. Because when I say you're mine, what I really mean is, I'm yours." Of course, he has his own secrets, ones that threaten to ruin everything he cares about.

And that's all I'm saying about this book, because you need to read it to experience it. Heather R. Blair has done a fabulous job on this series.

This is one of my favorite series, hands down. I've given all four books 5 stars.
This is Jett and Stephen's book. Jett is a badass witch and Stephen is a bear shifter. I love these two together. My heart broke for Jett and what she went thru at the hands of her ex. And Stephen was perfect for her. His (eventual) understanding of her and the realization of how he hurt her hurt my heart. But he more than makes up for it!
I loved reading about Seph and Jack again, too! Thanks for adding that little snippet in, Heather.
There's a teaser at the end for Ana's book and I can not wait for that!
Heather Blair is an incredibly talented writer. The humor in this book made me laugh out loud at times.
Book 5 can't come fast enough!

4 stars. This is a good book! This is Jett and Stephen's story. Jett is Seph's sister. She is a witch and, in the previous books in the series, she had to do some not-so-pretty things in order to help save the world. She and Stephen were a newly budding couple, but he has been unable to forgive Jett for the things she had to do. He doesn't think he can trust her and Jett is very hurt by that. She tries to move on from him and gets involved investigating the disappearances of witches. She ends up in some danger, but Stephen sees the error of his judgement and they work together to save themselves and the witches. They are able to work things out between them and understand each other better.

I liked Jett and Stephen. Jett has been burned in the past in a relationship and has developed some high walls to protect herself from getting hurt. She comes off as tough and sarcastic, but she actually has a sensitive side and only those very close to her can see it. She is fiercely loyal to her family and not afraid to protect them and others she loves at all cost. She let Stephen in and then was hurt by him when he didn't understand her actions in the previous books in the series. It takes some time for him to realize his mistakes and earn her trust again. Stephen was a good guy, struggling with the weight of his responsibilities as king of the bears, and his feelings for Jett. I was happy to see them work everything out between them because they both had been through a lot deserved to find love. I definitely felt their connection and chemistry. My only complaint was that I wished there was a little more page time together. They both had their own things they were working through, with Jett investigating the witches disappearances and Stephen pushing Jett away a lot of the time. I wanted more time with them together and happy. But that's probably just me being greedy.

I have really enjoyed this series! I still love the fairytale characters and the world they live in. I am definitely looking forward to the other sisters' stories and more from Ms. Blair!

I fell hard for this series, and devoured the previous three stories featuring Jack and Seph. I was so excited to get my hot little hands on this gem as an ARC reader!! I also was a bit nervous, since so many books lately have become DNF's for me, but oh baby!! did Ms. Blair deliver again with this wonderful installment featuring the badass and the seemingly stone cold Jett and her flirty, fun, and deliciously sexy hero Stephen.

The writing is captivating! Weaving twists, turns, mysteries, character nuances much like the witch spells that heroines in this series possess. Before I knew it, I was at 89% and wishing I could just have a few more hours with the story, and the amazing group of characters!

Jett, who anyone familiar with the story, was nobody's favorite at the end of Roses and Rye, became one of my favorite heroines ever! She was strong, fierce, and had so many deep layers. She keeps her emotions tight to the vest with with a warriors front, only showing her sarcasm and wit to most, but inside she was deeply loyal, full of deep and abiding love, and sacrificed dearly for those she cared about.

I was eager to get to know the flirty and charming Stephen as a hero from the previous books. His flirty laid back demeanor in the other stories seemed a perfect compliment to the fierce and fiery Jett. In this book he had to fight not only his own demons and his anger at Jett from what he felt was a betrayal, but also navigate his new role in the pack , deal with interfering political agendas, and help protect Jett from the past and present catching up to threaten his mate. I loved how the two of them were able to look past the damage and misunderstanding that occurred after the "event" in the previous story, to develop and heal one another in this one.

As with Jack and Sephs tale, there was a rich cast of characters, a bit of intrigue and mystery, smokin hot sexy times, and everything that smoothly falls into play for a searing hot romance. I can't wait for Ana's story next! The prince sounds like such a hot, arrogant, sexy bastard!!

I loved this! Jett and Stephen were incredible together! Their chemistry leaped off the page and getting a glimpse at their past, as well as their complicated present, was so much fun. I loved watching these two stubborn people fight against the immovable love they had for each other. This was exciting, fun, heartbreaking, suspenseful, and hot. I loved every bit of it! Plus it was awesome to get another quick glimpse of Seph and Jack again. A must read for fans of this series!

After what happened in the past few books I wasn’t sure I could like anything about Jett. So I waited some time before I picked this up again. So much time I only vaguely remember what happened in the past 3 books. Apparently Jett’s reasons are justified though not fully explained in this book, at least not to my satisfaction. I guess it’s pretty much because

I enjoyed the book but was rather annoyed with the abrupt POV changes. I wish there was some designation as to who was speaking or if we were in a past. Sometimes I got confused with the timeline, were we still back in time or was this present?

Overall I did enjoy though story. But it was fairly predictable that I almost wanted to close the book and stop reading it. Luckily it didn’t go down exactly as I had thought it would and I read through it.

I’ll be interested to see what happens with Ana here soon. I am slightly disappointed by the ending though. We barely get time with Stephen and Jett as an actual couple. We don’t see what it means since he’s a king and how that translates to his life and being King to a clan of shifters. I’m sure we will get glimpses into that.

Overall still a good book.

Can I just say wow? Firstly, I thought the series was over after Roses & Rye which I kinda moped about! So imagine my surprise when I received an ARC of this book?! Right, now that I've got that out of my chest, onto my review!

As usual, this author blows my socks off. This isn't unexpected as everything this author writes that I've read (each and every one of them so far) just hits the right spot. I have always known there is something more to Jett than meets the eye and this book finally answers all my questions resulting from the events of the previous books! Okay now so I apologize, I am unable to write a decent review for this book as, 1) I don't want to risk any spoilers for those who haven't read the first three books in the series, Seph's story; and 2) the 5-star rating should speak for itself.

This ARC was provided by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Absolutely fantastic!!!

I really enjoyed the first three books in this series but there is just something so special about this one, I think it's my new favorite:)

Up until this point in the series, Seph's sister Jett has always come across as dark and solitary. She is the lone wolf of the family and doesn't seem to like any of them. Not to mention the fact that she stabs her own sister in the back, literally. Granted, as the series moves along we realize she had a good reason for her actions, but still she didn't show many redeeming qualities. But this book completely changed the way I saw Jett.

As her past is revealed we learn why she acts the way she does and keeps everyone at arms length. Even the lovable and sexy bruin king, Stephen. Watching their relationship develop and unfold was so heartfelt, I couldn't help but fall in love with them. Even though Jett is more than opposed to the idea of a mate there is something about Stephen that might change her mind.

I think this series is so original and well written that any fan of PNR will be happy to read it.

Running from her fear of past trauma, Jett becomes almost invincible to everyone who knows her. Stephen knows she is his mate but doesn't want to push her. Meantime someone is kidnapping witches and Jett takes on the case. Will she find her happily ever after? Outstanding! I cannot wait to read the next one. This story encompasses several books, with each telling a different part of the story and also their own love story. Great series and good storytelling!

As book 4 comes to an end I really did enjoy it however not as much as books 1-3..

Don't get me wrong Jett was a kick ass heroine; With her loyalty in question Jett still walk with her hear held high and righteous in her heart. In the end Jett prove she's not only loyal and trustworthy but that she loves her family, her witch community and most of all her man Stephan.

Shout out the this author for entertaining us with a loyal, but fierce kickass heroine for the ages...

I loved this story

I’m glad that the series didn’t end with the first story arc. I loved this one, had a blast. I have been binging through. Great original magic, fun world, fun characters and just a touch of steamy sex. So fun.

LOVE IT!
This is such a great story, I was so excited to find out what was going on in Jett's mind. I just love these sisters. Can't wait for the next 2!

Threescore and Tequila, the new book in the Toil and Trouble series by Heather R. Blair, starts off like a rocket, keeping up the momentum she built in the three earlier books.

This is Jett’s story. Jett, if you read the earlier books, is the bad ass older sister of Persephone Gosse, and daughter of Oriane Gosse (aka Mother Goose). Jett is a witch and a warrior. In the earlier books, Jett murdered her sister Seph in order to keep her from destroying the world, a decision which continues to haunt her.

Jett’s book examines the fall-out from that choice, not just for her, but for the people she loved, specifically, the new bear shifter king, or bruin (I love Heather’s world building vocabulary!!!), Stephen.

Blair explores themes of loyalty and trust, and how actions can be misinterpreted. Stephen and Jett are the focus of this book, but things in the fairy tale creature world are never simple. Stephen feels betrayed, and Jett’s heart is broken. She’s forced to confront her past, and recognize (as much as she wouldn’t like to) how it continues to influence her.

People who have read the rest of the Toil and Trouble series will see characters they loved in the first books, Seph and Jack Frost make an appearance, as well as Tyr and Ana (who’s dark past is hinted at exquisitely in this one), and Carly and Styx.

I am in awe of Blair’s world. Not only does she use stories from mythology (Herne and Loki), fairytales (and not just the familiar ones!), but also Native American stories. Jett and Stephen’s world on the shores of the Great Lakes in Minnesota, is as much a character as they are. I loved how interwoven the story was, and I was blown away at how Blair kept track of all the threads, weaving them into something beautiful.

Blair managed to wrap-up Stephen and Jett’s story while leaving just enough loose ends to make me desperate for the next book, which will be about oldest Gosse sister, Ana.

This book is five stars. It’s a fast read, not because it’s short, but because you won’t do anything else but read until it’s finished.

Very Hot, Furface

This book sizzles. The tension between Jet and Stephen is delicious. The plot is interesting and the story is well-paced. And I loved Stephen's nick name. My only complaint; the book is too short. I didn't want it to end so soon. Heather, please make Anna's story longer. Pleeaaaseee. :)

I almost skipped this one and I kind of wish I had listened to my inner nag and done so. If this had been about anyone besides Jett, it would have been a high four stars, maybe even five. I just don't like her. I don't like what she did to Seph, even though she tried to half-ass explain why she did it. (Sorry, not good enough) I loved Stephen. L-O-V-E-D. He is one badass bruin! He didn't deserve to get saddled to Jett. 3 stars

Jett Gosse comes from a family of very powerful witches. And while she and her sisters are doing everything they can to triumph over the evil in the world, sometimes they have to make hard decisions that don't quite sit well with everyone...

Stephen Krueger is the newly crowned bruin king who once thought Jett was his future... that is, until she killed one of her own sisters...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Threescore & Tequila was another fascinating and all-consuming read in the incomparable Toil & Trouble series. While Jett and Stephen's connection is still simmering between them, finding  forgiveness and regaining any semblance of trust may be another matter entirely...
This was such great read, and I absolutely loved both Jett and Stephen equally! These two protective and loyal characters may have lost their path to each other for a bit, but when their past mistakes keep affecting their current safety, it will come down to only the most powerful of witches... and bruins... to survive...
Jett was a true warrior. Although severely damaged from her past, she lives to protect her family and anyone who threatens the witch community. Stephen is the king of the bruins who knows a thing or two about true loyalty. And while he wishes he can stay far away from Jett and her possible betrayal... Stephen is harboring a few secrets of his own when it comes to the vastly talented, and completely unattainable, Jett.
This book was a sexy and engrossing, second chance romance in the fabulous Toil & Trouble series. Jett and Stephen's story takes us from the beginning of their relationship, to the turmoil they face that tears them apart. Without an easy road to HEA, these two strong and unapologetically independent characters have a lot of work to do... and a little immense danger to face in the meantime...
I voluntarily purchased my copy of this book and have provided my honest and unbiased review.
