Alicia Jones #5

Galactic Storm

Rate this book
Alicia Jones has some hard decisions ahead. Things have been going downhill, and she’s under scrutiny by the military and governments of the world. The worlds opinion is souring, and even a night out is a calculated risk. Some disturbing things come to light, and the government is determined to keep her in check, even if she hasn’t done anything that requires it. She needs to decide if she’ll fight, fold, or simply cash out and play her own game.

If things at home weren’t bad enough, the galaxy is split on the bug issue, and things are heating up on both the humanoid and the bug worlds. Something has to break, will she be able to make the hard choice when the time comes?

I've been an avid book reader since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My preferred genre's are science fiction and fantasy.

I wrote some short stories and was encouraged to try writing and self publishing by some friends. I work in computers and writing is an obsessive hobby I have been trying to hone for a couple of years now. I'll let you judge if I have succeeded or not.

This is quite a short book to begin with, but when you take into account the number of pages devoted to relationships, date nights and weddings, then as a Science Fiction story this is barely a novella.
The actual story isn’t bad, but fairly boring until the last quarter of the book. I also got very frustrated with Alicia not standing up to Earth’s government and pointing out just how much they actually were relying on her talents until it was too late.

I have been totally entertained by this series.
Alicia is the type of person that in truth is a very rare species of human. And yet is easily recognized as an extraordinary alien half breed I am excited to learn what you have decided for her final outcome❗

Ok

Better than average of the other books, but still light on content and character interaction... or existence for that matter. It’d be cheaper fast food, to compare.

Good book

I enjoy this series. Unfortunately, I think the way the earth governments react is far too likely if we had these type of advances.

Smart dialogue is so sexy.

The strength of this novel is the strong moral backbone of its heroine. She is not perfect by any means, but have to make tough choices to save the most lives. The biggest weakness at least for me is the easy replication and building of things that take two days to build a space station.... It makes it seem trivial and it should seem harder to make a weapon that can destroy an entire world. I'm also a bit of a tech geek so I enjoy the details on making stuff..... Its just me tho so you may have to disregard that part of my review. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this novel and all the ones before it. Alicia is smart and Kristi is even smarter, and I love the friendship between them. The action is fast and the dialogue is smart. I can't resist that!!!! Smart dialogue is so sexy.

I love this book series. It's a great story about the world we live in and human nature. Jones makes me want to make hard decisions that I've been putting off.

Looking forward to the next one

Hope it is out soon. This series has been enjoyable. This book seemed a little scattered to me compared to the others though.

In one book...a microcosm of good, bad, honor, and betrayal

You do need to read the first for books in the series, the technology comes fast and furious so pay attention. This got 5 Stars as it hit all my buttons.
A young lady with brains trying to save her planet (Books 1 - 3) becomes a heroin loved by all, but when it's found that she is different causes those in power to fear.
Power, money and prejudice combine to take something good and as has been done down through history; turn right to wrong and good to bad. What I find interesting is some of the solutions as well as the people she has around her that she leans on for support. Most if not all not knowing how their presence and friendship help keep her moral compass and sanity in tact. A great read, I am on to #6.
