Between twilight and dawn, half-glimpsed things lurk in the swirling sea mist, long-dead things that have clawed their way out of the darkest abyss, things that were better left entombed. In this second volume of Blue Kingdoms Stories, you'll find a host of specters, ghosts, monsters, and more . . . guaranteed to shiver your timbers. Sail the Azure Sea with our ghoulish crew of tale-spinners: Robert E. Vardeman - Paul Genesse - Lorelei Shannon - James M. Ward - Dean Leggett - Jason Mical - Kelly Swails - Marc Tassin - Brandie Tarvin - Kathy Watness - and Jean Rabe & Stephen D. Sullivan.
I was born in 1959, grew up in Massachusetts, attended SMU (U. Mass, Dartmouth), and moved to Wisconsin to work for TSR (the Dungeons & Dragons people) in 1980. I’ve been here ever since, writing stories, drawing, and raising kids with my wife (who I’ve been with since 1980 as well).
I’ve had more than 30 books published (not counting the anthologies, but counting the ghost-written stuff only alluded to on this site). I also run a small publishing house, Walkabout Publishing. Recently, I've started posting new stories for Kindle on Amazon, in addition to my print work.
You can write to me: fanmail@stephendsullivan.com – but please be kind (and patient), okay? And don't forget to check my web site. You'll like it. Adventure guaranteed. (Monsters optional.)
A collection of twelve short stories in the Blue Kingdoms world of Stephen D. Sullivan and Jean Rabe. This one involves ghosts, monsters, and other spooky stories. Several of these stories blend the spooky happenings with pirates on the high seas, which I enjoyed. I enjoyed all of the stories. Standout stories included "The Wreckers" by Robert E. Vardeman which involves a ship's mage who attempts to use a tormented ghost for profit until pirates come by and have a clever way to both free the ghost and steal the loot. "Accidental Vengeance" by Kelly Swails is a fine tale of a spirit summoner's daughter who summons a dark spirit to be her new best friend and learns several life lessons as a result. Marc Tassin's "The Beacon" was an interesting and haunting twist on the story of a haunted lighthouse.
