France, August 1944. In this alternate history WW2 adventure, American and British forces struggle to trap and destroy the still-potent German armies defending Normandy. But the Allies face another formidable obstacle of their own a seething rivalry between generals leads to a high-level disregard for orders that puts the campaign in the Falaise Pocket at risk of devastating failure—or spectacular success. Ok story

I didn't know this book was part of a series. The story was ok and the writing was ok. I prefer a little more detail and substance.

Fantastic Alternate History!

Mr Grasso writes a gripping, page turner that will keep you up late waiting to see how his protagonists accomplish the jobs the military - and history - thrust on them. Outstanding character development, realistic military operations and a fast paced world - no long drawn out 'explanations' of what's going on here - sets Mr. Grasso in the realm of outstanding authors, alternate history or any other genre. Spend your money and your time being entertained.

I'm not really a fan of alternate histories because I've heard fools saying there was no holocaust. That being said, as a novel dealing with historical things it is easy to overlook the inaccuracies because my interest is in the story, not the facts.
I loved this book's slant. It more, expressed what I have been thinking about the occurrences around the Falaise Gap. it could have been my explanation of what went wrong there and why. that being said, this is fiction and a darn good read.

I chose this as a beach read after several heavy military history books and it was as expected; easy to read with some interesting action.

That being said, it was all too predictable and hard to really envision as true and compelling. While I knew it was alternative historical fiction, the book didn’t do enough to convince me to read the sequels.

“Moon Above, Moon Below” is a fun read for some mindless, action escapism and nothing more.

Gritty Moon brothers reflect the greatest generation

Great story of two brothers fighting in WWII in the same theater of operation in Europe, one from the air and one from ground. The action was non stop, with the classic elements of two hero’s facing danger, loss, love, and the will to continue on against a tenacious enemy. Looking forward to the next book as the adventure continues. Another great Grasso series!!

Grasso Did it Again

I really like his books. He has put a lot of thought in them. This one deals with ASO ( Air Support Operations) in which pilots take a turn being on the ground to direct attacks from the air. Good book, the only thing I question is the amount of Ferdinand tanks fighting. They were a total of 90 built. Many of them fought on the eastern front. I doubt there were that many of the Western front. Maybe I should ask him.

Brothers in war

Inspiring, a set of brothers in the same theater on operations during WW II. Although not unusual, brothers didn't get to see each other often. Well written, mostly historically correct timeline. Finally someone tells how the British pompus ass Montgomery was. Not to mention that Eisenhower was really more of a politician than a good general..

interesting wwii story

Starting after d-day this series covers two brothers, one a pilot and the other a tanker. Two different perspectives and a nice mix between the action and the downtime. The political part of war is also seen.

I am looking forward to continuing the series.

Pretty good read for an alternate hisory type novel. Looking forward to the other continuing series by Grasso. The details in the carnage of war are very much like "you are there" and expereincing the pain as well as the sorrow.

Excellent narrative

Any history buff will enjoy. The characters are believable the language salty.it moves along and the real or imagined letters between Patton, Ike, Montgomery et al adds flavor. A very good read, thanks Mr. Grasso!

God book, simplistic characterization

I enjoyed the read, easy and light. The characters, however, lacked depth; the reader just had to assume things one way or the other. 3.5/5

Historical fiction about WW II. Two brothers, one in the air forces and one in a tank, both fighting in the same area of Europe. The book was an interesting read and held my attention

Just a matter of time

I enjoyed this book very much as I really didn’t know that much about our field commanders during the war. Excited about the next book.

Full...Moon

A damn good war story. A book with action to spare, in the air and on the ground. Coordination,
with both. Tankers and pilots.. I would recommend this book to family and friends, who have had members of family, involved in war. Alvis

Middling at best

Actually about a two and a half star, it lacked intensity that more military actions entail. Sort of elementary writing.
