I'm a cocky bastard.

I admit it. It's because I've got a big d*ck and I know how to use it. And man have I used it. When my life fell apart, I used it even more to forget. But I don't do that anymore. Because my life is back on track. I have a plan. And nothing is going to stand in my way of getting what I've worked so hard for. Nothing except for... her.

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

After having a drama-filled life with his mother and brother, Nick has finally finished his Masters Degree and is ready to move into the world of PR and has an internship lined up for a Cosmetics company that the famous entrepreneur Charles Day founded. Nick's life would have been cruisy, and he would have achieved wonders if it hadn't been for his family and of course, they are about to interfere once again. Reading about Nick and his family hit home for me as it reminded me of my family life and how if anything goes wrong especially financial issues etc., it seems to fall on me to fix the situation and I was never able to leave home because things would be drastic if I left. One night while working his last shift at the bar, he is offered a lot of money to be a spy for the new company he is about to and report back on their projects and antics. Simon Day figured that as the oldest son, the business should have gone to him instead of his half-sister Serena. Though I have to admit, I have never hated a character as much as I hated Simon, he was awful and such a mean-spirited bully. Nick accepts only because his family is in trouble again. What will happen though when Nick aka Mr. Cocky starts to fall for Serena and vice versa? Has Nick managed to crack the walls of Serena and can he prove her that he loves her scars and all and that the money meant nothing to him - it was only a means of survival?
Find out in Mr. Cocky by Nana Malone. I loved this book as it shows readers the insight of what happens when someone is torn between the loyalty of family, career and the ones they love and the lengths that people will go to either protect the ones they care about or how far they will go to succeed and hurt someone for their gain. What I liked about this book was that it gave readers the two sides of someone who cares about Family and the other someone who is a true narcissistic and only cares about themselves.

When I came across Mr Cocky, I knew that I had to read it- I loved the title and the cover.
However, it was not what I expected. Don't get me wrong, Mr Cocky was a pleasant read but I was expecting more.

Nick is trying to juggle between his family, his studies and his new role as PA of " Chanel Mademoiselle".
Selena and Nick are attracted to each other even if they both come from two different worlds. Selena is the rich heiress whereas Nick is the alpha who wants the best for his mum. He will do anything to help her and his brother ... even make a pact with Selena's evil half-brother Simon.
Nick knows that "no woman would ever be a match for Selena."

"I will do my best to give you Paris every day. "

Overall, nice enjoyable read

This was my very first taste of Nana Malone’s writing and I really liked it! So there is definitely going to be more buying and reading of her work.

I liked the romance and the sexy times a lot. The plot kinda worked for me but I was not blown away by it. The writing style was totally up my alley though I felt the end was a bit rushed. But I truly enjoyed Nick and Selena’s story. Not in the least because it was set in London, with an office romance where the heroine was the boss. Very refreshing and great to read.

I really must say I picked this one for this title. With a title like Mr. Cocky I went in with these super high expectations that the hero would really be Mr. Cocky but sadly I was let down. From the very start you can tell that Nick really isn’t what you would picture someone who is truly cocky to be. Does he know he is good looking? Yes he does, but he also has priorities and obligations that make that so called cockiness tamer. Selena has self-esteem issues thanks to her brother and I could understand why she would put herself down but after a while she started to get on my nerves.

This book had the potential to be really great, I mean think about it. The new hot guy who has alternative motives for working there even if he does try to get out of it more than once, who also falls for the boss ad is stuck in a rock and a hard place or as the book put it a rock in a Simon place. You would think that this would really be a book that would have you wondering if he will fess up or I he will be discovered and what happens next. Now I won’t say which scenario it was but I sort of was like that’s it? I know what my reaction and most people’s would have been as well. Also some of the side characters just didn’t work.

Mr. Cocky was just missing that extra spark that would have elevated the book to a great read versus a good read. Overall it was a quick and at times sexy read that I wished would have been just a little better than it was.

Genre: Romance - billionaire
Stand Alone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes - Book 1 of the London Billionaire series
POV: Nick and Selena
Steam Level: Warm
3.5/5

I have mixed feelings on this book. While overall I liked it, I was also frustrated with Nick at times.

What I liked:
The stereotypical roles were reversed: Nick is the intern, finishing school while is a billionaire CEO running her own successful company.
The set up for the premise/drama of the story. It had crazy potential that could have been done so much better.

What I disliked:
How the drama played out throughout the book. I wanted to yell at Nick to "just tell her already!"

As much as I got frustrated I do feel satisfied with how the ending played out which is why I gave it 3.5 stars rather than 3. I would have liked an epilogue though.

I read this as a bonus story in Mr. Trouble which I received from the author for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Nick is a kind, hard-working nice guy who takes care of his family ( mother living in a bad area, a brother mixed up with drugs & the like). He juggles school as he works on his masters, also as a part-time bartender & has just started an internship. He develops a sudden attraction for his new boss, Selena. She feels the same. Something was missing from this story, was it too short? I loved Nick but didn`t find him cocky at all, the title says otherwise. Selena was ok, didn`t feel like I knew too much about her though. Nick`s troubles put a different spin on the typical office romance which added interest to the book. The ending could have been better, maybe drawn out more. It was just ok.

I read my fair share of bad romance stories in my life, but this was the first one where I was NOT hoping for the HEA.

Mr Cocky? More like Mr Coward. This guy needed to grow a backbone and if not make better choices, then at least own up to his shit. He didn’t, instead waiting for it to blow up in his face. Only then he gracefully admitted that the stink is indeed coming from his ass.

AND it would be so freaking easy to actually make the right choice - to just tell her the truth from the beginning and work for her, not her brother, purposefully misleading the jerk together. Also, not enabling his own brother would be an added bonus to his character.

HEA made absolutely no sense, the whole idea of love was also completely laughable. If anything, they fell in lust and sex was clearly the most important thing for both of them in that relationship. Not that there was anything else to fall back on, they just slapped the “love” tag on their lust and called it a day.

If it didn’t end so abruptly at like 150 pages (does it even qualify as a book or just a short novella?) it would be a DNF for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed her other books and decided to give this series a go. However i don’t even know what to say about this book. It’s a basic cliche story where the guy needs money and sacrifice everything including his relationship with the girl where she’s too horny to even listen to the guy when he’s trying to come clean. Honestly this story is too draggy with the unnecessary self-doubt/ self-conscious and the plot. It would have save more time if she just gave him the chance to spill everything out every time he wanted to do so. But no, she’s trying to be a matured adult and said she wouldn’t have minded with whatever issues they have.
Maybe it would have been a fun read what with the plot and all but i’m in a mood where everything is just not right and this book is just so freaking stupid with the miscommunications being the main theme that i have to literally stop myself from throwing away my phone in the middle of reading it. This book is a big fat no from me.
Hopefully the other books will be better than this one.

Mr. Cocky by Nana Malone was a quick and enjoyable read. It had a few moments when it felt like it rushed and others where it felt like it lagged, but overall, I really liked it and think you should one click on it today.

Nick has had some issues in his life, but now he is ready to make something of himself and to help his mother. He gets an internship with Shades of Chic and think that his life is about to turn around, but what he didn't realize that he would be attracted to his boss. The chemistry between them is hot and can almost be felt as you read.

Selena runs her father's company, something that pisses her half-brother off. She may be lonely, but work keeps her going and she is successful at a young age. Will she be able to fight her attraction for the new intern, or will she open her heart and find a way to make it work.

I highly recommend this story. 3.5 stars and you need to one click.

I wanted to love this. I really did. The characters seemed interesting. I got backstory to give them depth. The proposed drama would have been fun to watch unfold and get resolved. Everything should have been excellent, it just...wasn't. It was very anti-climactic. No follow-through. The drama could have been delayed and expounded some more. The ending felt rushed. It was just unsatisfying. I expected more I guess. I'm not even interested in reading the rest of the series.

This might be a good thing though...a good downer from all the uppers of this genre that I've breezed through in too short a space of time. Maybe this will finally bring me back from my descent into madness.

I must say the title is very misleading. In my opinion Nick is a lot of things but cocky was not one of them. I have read a very books similar to this one, but the male and female characters are flipped. Meaning Selena is the one in the power position and Nick is the one needing money. That was a nice switch. I was entertained and enjoyed this book and it's a quick read but it is familiar all the same. In my opinion Nana Malone did do a good job of suspense with Simon. Overall it's is way to similar to other stories for me.

It was an enjoyable read but I would have to say the synopsis doesn’t really go with the actual plot. Nick is actually not that cocky and definitely not a billionaire. I did love his interactions with Selena and how he had to deal with the decisions he made.

I wanted to love the book but it mostly it was internal dialogue for both Selena and Nick. Selena acted like an insecure teenager instead of a CEO billionaire career woman. Don’t get me started on Simon, the booger breathe. The ending was very abrupt, I would have liked to see them in an actual relationship.

DISAPPOINTED STORY.

I had high expectations when I saw the title of this book.To me Mr. Cocky title could have been great but it’s a great let down.THE character in the story are a bit strange .SELENA has a lot of self esteem issues and her brother Simon is a rat. Nick on the other hand had good intentions but I think he was to focus on getting his brother out of trouble he taught he had no other choice than to sellout Selena. Was his intention right or wrong.READ TO FIND OUT.

I liked how characters develop to be mature and rational beings from the start of the book. Although Nick was already a mature character, it's Sienna that I am happy to see is fairly reasonable to a point. I enjoyed it all and it was good to read through.
Love the writing and really excited for this author!

Okay story

I really liked Nick. He had his priorities in order. The drama with Simon petered out and really had no dramatic effect on the story. I've read better by this author.

Overall this was definitely a good read. Nick's background was very interesting. He pretty much gave up everything to bail his brother out and his brother did not learn from his mistakes and repeated them until it was almost too late. Nick's mother refused to leave the barrio because it was all she had ever known until it was almost too late. It seems like Nick was always trying to save either his mother or his brother to his own detriment. In a way I felt sorry for him.

Nick finally met a woman worth the time to pursue, but he screwed it up by trying to bail his brother out of another mess. Selena did not believe in her own beauty and attractiveness. She has a scar from her youth that, even though she tried to hide it with makeup, she wore like battle armor. She finally let her guard down with Nick and then he betrayed her. But she never gave him a chance to explain. He tried to tell her several times and every time she distracted him, so she is just as much at fault for her emotional pain as he is.

I would love to know what happened with both Simon, Selena's brother, and Chris, Nick's brother, and hope we see their stories in the future. The story was complex but easy to read and the backstory was well written and fit well with the story line.

I feel this is a 4.5 star book but the system won't let me do half stars. I'm looking forward to future books that tell us how Selena and Nick are doing and what they are up to.

I enjoyed this read, for me it was quick and I read in one sitting. The characters were full on but great to read.

Selena is a successful business woman, when her father left her the business she knew she would have to work hard to prove herself. Her step-brother always seems to be lurking in the background waiting for her to cock up! With her professional life going well her personal life has suffered and its been a long time since she has been under a man.

Nick hasn't had an easy life, with all his family drama he found himself putting his life on hold. Now he is a mature student who's future is starting to look brighter when he is offer an internship at Shades of Grey.

Just when Nick looks set to be on the rise he is soon bought back down to earth due to another family crisis. With no way of meeting demands he finds himself making deals with the devil but at what cost.

The attraction is there and sparks fly but...

A relationship between the boss and her intern is bound to have issues but are they enough to keep this couple apart?

There are some real differences in this billionaire romance. The gender of the money person for one. Yep, Ms. Billionaire. And the love interest, Mr. Cocky himself, is not your typical hero. Oh,he's an alpha alright. He's loyal to his family, has been the head and the fixer in said family. And he is flawed--if you consider the fact that he makes an impossible decision. He has to decide between his mother's safety and his love. Wow, what would you do?

What he has done is change from womanizer to goal oriented grown up. Now when the one woman he could love comes into his life, his family comes between them. The author has given a very strong conflict, and I enjoyed the unique flavor of this one. However, she has kept the important cardinal rule of a romance.

For those of you who have an open mind to a flawed human being able to change, a man being able to change, and woman being able to overcome her trust issues you will love this one. My one slight concern is that the wrap up was a little fast, but all is well that ends well and this one does.

Overall this was an enjoyable story. It was a quick read which always makes it nice when you want to relax. This was a first book of Nana's for me and I can say I enjoyed it. It isn't your typical billionaire book, because this time? The billionaire is a female. Don't get me wrong, Nick is all alpha, but Serna is the billionaire.

Nick has an interesting story and it makes you feel for him. When times get tough, he does what he feels is necessary to help him family survive, but will it all be worth it in the end or will he lose the one person he falls for?

Serena was given one of the best opportunities for a female, the family business was handed down to her and she became the CEO. Her half brother Simon always assumed it would go to him, but it didn't. Simon has me truly hating him, from start to finish. He is just slimy. You feel for Serena, when she finds happiness how long does it last and the biggest question there is, can she forgive the one person she thought she could trust?

Overall, this was a good book. I can't wait for more from Ms. Malone.

This book was a good short sexy read, I would give it a 3.5 stars and recommend to others.

Nick is a little late to the game in life because of family issues, but he is determined to make something of himself, so when he gets an internship with Shades of Chic a very popular cosmetic company he is out to prove once and for all he will make it big.... He doesn't realize that he will most certainly be distracted by his boss..

Selena is at the head of her game, she is running her father's company and doing a great job at it. She has some past demons she battles with but she doesn't let that bring her down... she is always the professional in her business but she is quite lonely in her personal life... what will happen when sparks fly with the new intern?

Can these 2 make a relationship work or will too many obstacles stand in there way?

3.5/5 Stars!
A good story of a woman, Selena, who lacks self-esteem, mainly due to her past experiences with men, and Nick, a guy who got way off track and is not trying to redeem himself.
Nick is cocky and knows what to do with his…um, package. He is sexy and alpha as they come. He is attracted to his boss, Selena, and despite her being his boss, he wants her.
They get to know each other privately, while keeping up the boss-employee relationship for outward appearances. Their road is a bit rocky due to outside interferences. They have to learn to trust each other and neither one does that well.
Again, a good story, but a little off for me. The ending was slightly rushed. However, the chemistry was there and the schmexy times were great. I enjoyed the whole reversal of roles thing with Selena as the boss and Nick as the employee. (Shame on me for saying that. It really does hurt my feminist soul)
Overall, a good read that many will enjoy.

Nick has been plagued with a curse (his physique). Nick believes that the only thing people see when they look at him is his outer offerings. Nick is a determined young man ready to get his life together and not involve any distractions of the female persuasion. Selena is an ambitious business woman that only wants to see the business excel. Selena has worked extremely hard in school. But her obstacles are tremendous, mainly her brother. Selena has worked hard to get where she is in the business and is increasingly frustrated with the many attempts made by her family to sabotage her work. Will Selena and Nick form a bond? Or will they destroy each other in the process of denying true feelings and lose sight of the main goal (survival of the company they before it all falls to ashes?

A good read.. Mr Cocky thought he could win on all playing fields, because he had the looks and the brains, that was the case mostly, until he met his new boss. Nicks brother was always putting him in a bind with serious financial implications. This time was no different. Nick and Sabrina started out as boss to subordinate, but it quickly changed to lovers. His new boss was a beautiful woman with a conniving brother who was out to steal the business their father left to her. Her brother solicited the help from the newest intern to take down his sister, and steal the business. The question was would Nick betray his boss to safe his own family. Or would love cause Nick to make the ultimate sacrifice?

I enjoyed reading Nick & Selena's story. Selena is the boss lady and she knows how to handle her business but she's had bad experiences dealing with men, even her own brother, so she has self-esteem issues. Nick is actually trying to reform his ways and although he is very confident in his appearance and ability to pull the women, etc.. he's trying to stay focused on getting his degree so he can get a decent job & take care of his mom. Nick's brother is bad news, the things we do for family.....I felt sorry for Nick & his predicament. These two burn up the pages...getting to know one another privately while maintain a working relationship publicly. I like the fact that she's the boss, that's unique usually the male is the boss with this type of plot, lol.

This book was ok, a 3.5 star rating. Normally, I jump into a Nana Malone book and it holds me until the end. That is how the book began for me. Then, my mind started to wander. I liked Nick. I liked Selena. I didn't get any sense of chemistry between the two of them.

I can't put my finger on it, but it was something about the flow or feel of the storyline that made me want to skim through certain parts. The end just felt off to me.

Not a bad book. All the parts and pieces didn't come together for me in this one. But, maybe it is just me. I will more than likely read it again to see if I feel differently.

Good read.
Nick was a confident cocky and arrogant, His life goals were pot on hold to deal with family issues. Selena was a successful chick when it came to business but when it came to men that was another story. When Selena first meets Nick, she finds it hard to focus on the meeting she is conducting. Nicks feels an attraction to her as well trying to fight it has proven impossible. Is it possible to have a successful relationship with your boss? This books will have you "ooh, aah " throughout. It also covers all you need in a good romance. It was a good read.
