Любимият дeтeктив на Aгата Кpиcти e eдин от най-вeликитe измиcлeни кpиминални cлeдоватeли. Tim Dedopulos, a British writer, editor, publisher and game designer with nearly 100 works to his name in areas ranging from horror and sff, through music and art, to games, puzzles and jokes.
Tim lives in Spain with his wife and the ghost of his murdered bromeliad, grimly acclimatising to his new-found and unwelcome mid-40s. A shameless INFJ, he usually tries to avoid thinking in the third person.
Pop Sugar Reading Challenge 2019 a book revolving around a puzzle or a game.
Some of these are fun, some are just too much math. Whole numbers, people, don't use fractions, or make math that you need a calculator for when people are just trying to have fun. Some are just ridiculously out there in that you would never think of that, or there's actually another solution the author didn't think of (OK, that only happened once but I maintain I was also right).
I didn’t enjoy the actual text very much. Many of the problems are excessively math-y, which I do not enjoy. A few required knowledge I do not possess (like the names of the different areas of London). The book design and artwork is gorgeous!!! The stars are primarily for the artwork. 🤷🏻♀️
I loved the design and the style in which the book was written. If you love math puzzles you will enjoy this book a lot. I was personally hoping for more deduction based puzzles.
The puzzles are, as usual, exteremely well presented. But the serious puzzler is concerned with content, not presentation. The best puzzles were ones I had already met in other books (Spock, Sherlock Holmes) by the same author. The others were pretty lame.
By the way: you can't "fly" a Bristol Jupiter. It's an engine, not a plane.
My beloved Great Grandfather WilliamPhippsJr, made me obsess over Poirot. We loved to stay up and watch the show late at night while everyone else's little grey cells where sleeping. The finding of this book fills me with that same thrill as those late nights with my Papa, trying to figure out the mysteries . This book is perfectly wonderful. Each puzzle as great as the next. It even has a few in the beginning that are perfect for your mind to warm up with. If you can't figure it out ask a friend to help. Don't worry if you think you got it wrong because you can find the answers to each puzzle in the back of the book. What a book nerd and mystery buff treat!
