A mistaken regift leads to Pace running into Fern. While he was attracted to her natural scent, Pace really noticed the wolf attracting scent of the perfume Fern was regifted with. It leads to them spending Christmas weekend together and getting to know one another which in turn leads to Pace proposing to Fern months later.
