He worked on a number of comic strips in addition to comic books, and is best known for his Warren and Marvel Comics work. For Warren he was chief writer and editor of landmark horror anthology titles Creepy and Eerie, and for Marvel he set up the creator-owned Epic Comics as well as adapting Star Wars into both comics and newspaper strips. He is regularly cited as the "best-loved comic book editor, ever."

Very nice collection of these Silver Age B&W stories. nice reads. Recommended

I will say upfront that if I didn't have such an affinity for the old black and white horror comic magazines, my rating may have been a little lower. I read all of the Warren Archives (Creepy, Eerie, Vampirella) and for whatever reason Vampirella seems to be a little cruder then the others. The artwork is usually good, but the stories are sometimes lacking. The scene changes can be abrupt and the endings can come out of nowhere and leave you scratching your head.
Still, these are fun stories that hit the mark from time to time so I always enjoy reading them. If you like the old black and white Vampirella comic magazines, there's no reason you wouldn't enjoy this archive.
