It's the Spring of 1990. The Berlin Wall has come down, and the United States has won the Cold War. After a struggling economy, Ginger's husband Steve has come up with a way to make his investment firm money, through the Vulture Fund. But problems loom. Ginger and Steve learn that the Feds are about to seize all their assets. Their dream life in the Houston suburbs is about to implode. There is one way yuppies Ginger and Steve can hold onto their wonderful lifestyle in Houston, but the solution is in Europe and may land Ginger in jail. Ginger hits the road. Alone in a rapidly changing Europe, Ginger runs into unexpected enemies and surprising kindnesses from strangers along the way. Welcome to my Author Page on Goodreads! I am a full time writer working on my farm just outside Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm the mom of two young adults and a pre-teen, and I'm married to a great guy. We share our home with a Westie and two tabby cats, who keep life interesting at all times.

I've been writing since I was five years old, and writing has figured into my career one way or another my working life My life journey has taken me through law school, a brief career as a trial lawyer, seminary, and work as a Christian formation director and curriculum developer. Now that (most) college tuition bills are paid, I've devoted myself to my lifelong dream of writing novels.

My first young adult novel is Runaway Kitty, based on lots of the drama and situations I saw on a daily basis as a mom of teens. This might turn into a series. We'll see.

My next novel will be a period piece on the economic boom of the 1980's - and the sobering fall of the Yuppie glory days in the 1990's. The main character, Ginger, suddenly loses everything and ends up in Switzerland, Berlin, and Moscow as she tries to recover her money and her life. Stay tuned!

My non-fiction curriculum books are:

Earth Our Garden Home: Creation Care Lessons for Children, and

Wild Faith: A Creation Care Curriculum for Youth.

Great Read

Ginger's Reckoning is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It was fast paced, with a believable plot and characters.

This is a really good book. It moves along very quickly, and the plot and characters are interesting. I particularly liked the parts of the book set in Europe. The beginning of the book was a little frenetic, but I think this reflected the frenetic pace of the main character's life at that point in the book. After she left this situation, the book smoothed out and was a delight to read. The surprise ending and resolution of the book beautifully tied the plot and backstory together.
