A mysterious house. An old journal. A dusty chest holding more than secrets.

Each talisman found in the chest grants the chosen a gift, a unique ability. But with that power comes a burden—the duty of The Order.

Something is coming.

Something evil.

And it's up to The Order to stop it.

PRISON - The Talisman Chronicles, Episode 6

Chloe Blake knows a battle is coming. She’s seen it—over and over—in her living room’s mystical picture window.

But she’s also seen something worse.

Chloe and her friends now know they’re The Order, gifted with powers to fight the dark chaos that’s descended on Lamsden and is bent on wreaking havoc not only there, but around the world. They’re prepared to fight, but fighting may not be enough.

And if Chloe’s visions are right, they might not all emerge from the battle unscathed.

***Read as part of The Talisman Chronicles single edition***

Once again, Chloe is the main in this episode, but by the time this one comes around, we can see how much stress she's under and how tired she is by everything. All she wants to do is protect Ethan and others not in The Order while The Order prepare for the big fight.

Sadly, it seems that not everyone will survive the battle and this is weighing on Chloe and her friends worry about her.

Are The Order strong enough to band together and do battle?

Aiming for some normalcy, The Order attends a traditional local high school event. Beck’s younger sister Tru also shows up and finds herself drawn to Chloe. Knowing what this means, Beck hurries to remove Tru from the scene, but agrees to explain things to her. When Tru finds her gift, she is eager to test it and work with the others.

Meanwhile, Chloe is desperate to protect Ethan from her terrifying vision. Her internal struggle is described in a way that made me both empathize with her as well as become frustrated with her for keeping Ethan out of the loop.

In this final installment, the battle between The Order and Chaos takes place. The group has made preparations, but Chaos proves overwhelming. Then in the midst of the tumultuous fights, an unexpected new member of The Order arrives. In a heartbreaking decision, they accept their gift and the sacrifice it entails. The conflicting emotions caused by this development are described in a touching way, which enables the reader to truly connect with those affected.

All in all, Prison is a lovely and action-packed conclusion to an epic paranormal adventure. Be sure to pick up all six installments for a riveting read!

I got to last book! Finally! I had to know how it ended!!

This series was a very fast yet suspenseful read. I had to keep going, I had to know what happened to them all.

I can't really say anything about the ending that won't spoil it, but I will say Oh My God! I had a feeling it wasn't going to be cakes and rainbows, but man! The author definitely gave us a hell of a fight at the end.

I loved all the characters and finding out what each one was gifted with. Even the surprise ones we find out through this book. They all had to be so brave and selfless for this battle and it warms your heart and makes you want to cry at the same time.

The writing was just as good as always and flowed in a way that made you read through all of it in one sitting and not know how you read through it all so fast. You just can't seem to stop yourself once you get going. It was nice to be that drawn into the story that you don't even realize what is going around you.

This was such a wonderful series that came all together in this last book, but you won't be disappointed. I had to put the book down when I was finished and just sit and reflect on all of it. I wasn't able to get up and get back into reality for a while. That proves to me how good this story was and I know I will be re-reading this series and revisiting the order again soon!

Since this is the last book, this is gonna stand for the whole series.

The idea behind unique gifts of a paranormal nature being given to a group of different individuals whose destiny is to fight the darkness is intriguing. I like that there is a history behind it (maybe the author could revisit this some day with other characters). The story being separated into shorts made it feel more exciting. It's certainly a new idea. This series is also nice for diversity. Though—and this is just a personal preference of mine—the high school themes were to muddled and distracting for me. Look, I did say personal preference. It's not the authors writing. Otherwise my imagination was challenged.

I'm glad I read this.
