A love written in the stars, or born in the depths of darkness? Where fate has brought them together, so will it tear them apart. This is not a story of chance, but one that was destined to come to pass, and with it the fall of the darkest shadow to roam the earth. Vivian French will soon realize that monsters are not just characters from story books, but creatures who can tear your soul apart and leave nothing in its place. This is not a love story. This is a tale, of a fallen angel and The One who will bring about a change in the Balance.
Janelle Stalder was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario. At an early age she developed a love for literature. Her debut novel, Eden, was the first book in a series of four, released in September of 2011. Since then she has released an Adult Dystopian Romance series, the New World Series, hitting the best sellers list on Amazon. She has also released a Mature YA/NA novel, Brush Strokes, that stayed on the best sellers list for contemporary romance for sixteen straight weeks. She is a strong supporter of other independent authors and loves to interact with her readers.
Demons walk amongst us, doning human appearance. From time to time, a human woman appears which can be mated to them and bear their children. There is a secret organization called the Broterhood which sorts of controls it (does more things, but you will have to read the book to find out ;)), and in between this mess, our main character just wants to be good at her lawn intership and not fall in love with the gorgeous blue eyed guy who happens to be her boss son.
I loved this book. All of it: plot, narration, characters... The plot was interesting, even though it deals with things we have already seen (demons, mates) it does it in its own way and in a bievable way. No insta love here, thank god. The writing was excelent. It was fluent and carried you along the story nicely. You laugh, scare and feel. Amazing. I also loved the way in which the narrator changes: first person for the leading lady, third person for other characters... this way you can now what she feels by her very own mouth, so to speak; and the rest of characters remain somewhat more ambiguos. The characters are all fully fleshed. All of them. Even secundaries. Even the "bad guy" captures your attention. Kuddos to the author for it. There is only one "downfall": the ending. Ooen cliffhanger. As in... where is the rest of my book!!? The author apologizes for it in an afterword. Assures us the following book is already written and awaiting to be published. I don't care! I want my fix!! Gimme now! haha Yeah. That good.
Thank you to Netgalley, Red Coat PR and Janelle Stalder for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
You can find my review on both Goodreads and Amazon from today. On Goodreads under my name Karen Whittard and on Amazon under my name k.e.whittard.
I love Ya books. I love dystopian fantasy books. So this book ticked the boxes for me. It is a good introduction to what I think sounds like a promising new series. I must find the next book now and read it.
The book focuses on the difference between good and evil. And focuses on the devil himself as a fallen angel. There is a lot of romance in this book, throw in some good old fashioned action, suspense, mystery, religious history and you have yourself a pretty decent debut series book.
The cliff hanger in this book is a really good one which makes you want to read the next in the series like now.
All in all a great beginning with some fantastic characters that you will love and hate but doesn't that just make a great book.
In retrospect, I felt my review was too harsh for a book I ultimately believed was a decent read. Original review is torn up, thrown out and in the trash.
As soon as I heard of Balance, I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on it and read it. I am such a ginormous fan of Janelle Stalder and I am so so honoured to be one of her BETA readers. I am not usually a fan of fallen angel stories but I just knew that this would be amazing because Janelle wrote it. I was not wrong. I loved every moment of it and I just couldn't read this quick enough.
Vivian has the chance of a lifetime. To be an intern for the best defence lawyers in the city before she heads of to college to study Law. Besides there's also the Banks sons there. Lawyer extraudinaires and super hot boys that is nice eye candy for any girl. But what Viv doesn't know is that the Banks family are keeping a big secret and when she develops feelings for the mysteriously hot but broody silent Caleb her life is going to change forever.
I was absolutely hooked to this story from the very very start. I was just drawn into this amazing story and I really connected with Viv right from the start. She is a great main character and I loved that we saw her develop and change as a character the further we got through this book. I absolutely loved her and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
Caleb... oh my word he is officially my favourite book boy ever right now. I went from being curious but kind of angry at him for his brusque behaviour but the more I read the more I fell in love with him. My favourite parts of this book were without a doubt the parts told from Caleb's point of view. He is amazing and I just loved him more and more the more I read.
Balance is such a phenomenal book. I loved every moment of it and I can't even describe the emotional journey Janelle sent me on throughout this book. It made me laugh and swoon, cry and mourn. This book completely broke my heart into a million pieces and I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 to find out what will happen next.
This book was a phenomenal start to what I know is going to be an amazing series. It is filled to the brim with mystery, danger and intrigue with just the right amount of heartstopping and breathtaking romance. It made me fall in love head over heels and then slowly destroyed my heart. If there's one new series you start this year make sure it's this one.
Balance is a really good novel. I have only praises for this book, and I read it in one sitting (yes, that good). Characters
I really like Vivian - I wish I could meet her. Besides, Janelle Stalder writes a beautiful couple with her and Caleb. Their interactions are perfect human and believable, and they are totally devoted to one another, in a not creepy way. I like their relationship.
I feel like I have to give a shout out to Blake for being a wonderful friend, too.
The characters have many layers to them, they’re not stick figures, even the more “minor” ones, and this is another aspect I really liked about this story!
Another thing: GREAT evil character(s). They’re delightefully bad you want to kill them slowly. Plot
There is a lot of suspense and mystery in the story, and I really enjoyed this aspect. It is well-built and it does make sense, in a weird fantasy-ish way; as a matter of fact (realist)
It’s a little gem of slow-burning moments - without killing you -, but everything is mastered with style and class. As a matter of fact (and allow me the pun, please) it’s super balanced. You get a little of mystery, humour, romance, suspense without one taking over the others. And that takes skills.
The world-building/mythology at the roots of the novel is top-notch, too, and I really liked how the story was woven into itself. I couldn’t stop reading; Writing
The story alternates between different characters, and I liked that we get to see a glimpse of life that are not Vivian’s at times. It helps building the tension and keeps the reader guessing about the outcome and the action, which is a strong point, in my opinion. The style was lively and dynamic - i was not bored for one bit.
But godammit the cliffhanger! Can I just get the sequel?
That cliffhanger! I should have realized before I started reading it, it very clearly says Part One on the cover, but Cover-Lust is real and I couldn't wait.
Balance reminds me of Twilight quite a bit. I'm not exactly sure what it is that makes me draw that comparison. Is it the mousy, inexperienced girl? The inexplicable attraction? The relationship between a rich and powerful male and a very breakable human girl? I love Twilight, so this isn't a problem for me.
My only complaints are pretty minor. The "good side" doesn't seem very fleshed out to me. I found the good side to feel a bit "clunky" and I didn't really connect with them (except for Murray). I'm pretty sure that they'll be more developed in the next book, so I'm not too worried about it. Also, I'm a bit scared of the dad. Scared enough that I had to stop reading and finish it during daylight hours. All the being said, I found this to be a solid start to a new series. The good/evil thing is very intriguing and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I received an advance review copy of this book that I have chosen to review.
This story is so full of magical imagination; it’s hard not to love it! A wonderful story of love unlike any other and hatred beyond this world; goodness so pure, it comes from heaven, and evil so strong, it has to come from the devil himself. The characters are developed so well, I actually wanted to slap them one moment, and hug them the next, well I wanted to hug some of them anyway.
This story is well told and full of suspense. The cliffhanger at the end has me impatiently awaiting part two! Hurry up with it, please. I loved the book but the cliffhanger was pure cruelty! Overall, Balance is a strong 4 Boundless stars book.
I have several feelings about this book; on one hand, I though this a pretty enjoyable new adult romance with a paranormal aspect thrown in that I actually want to see to the end, but on the other hand there were several flaws (I made a list; there were 17 little issues I flagged as I read) that made me think “bleh.”
There’s some context flaws (like in terms of tropes and the heroine being like dismissive of Blake’s gender because he’s not into girls as if that’s the only reason why they could be friends because if he was straight he’s be a real boy and therefore not friend material or something; then there was also her being like grossed out by the word hormone being used in a sentence as if she’s 11 and embarrassed by puberty) and there were some writing flaws in terms of characters and plot projection (like not fleshing out the characters well, relying on very convenient plot devices to propel things forward, and not all the pieces of the plot being as explored as they ought to have been, like the prophecy for example, forward, though I suppose this could be counted towards the fact that this book cuts off very sharply in the middle of a scene and is truly more like “part 1” than “book 1” since no plot arc was completed). Though since this is, by the author’s own words, the first book she ever wrote, I’ll dial back my criticisms a little since a rough first try is acceptable and to be expected.
The romance, while very sweet and the male lead not abusive or anything and the heroine generally pretty likeable, had an air of insta-love or lust-mistaken-for-love that gave things a sort of puppy-dog infatuation feel rather than a true love feel. The lead also falls into that “once I was cold but loving her changed me” trope that’s not super well executed; it’s like he saw her, touched her, then suddenly had a conscience and cared and I’m like it doesn’t work that way it takes time. It was still all warm and fuzzy to read about, but didn’t really feel especially mature or emotionally deep, which I would have expected more of in a new adult book.
The story offered a bit of a new spin on the classic fallen angels mythology without getting heavy on the religious tones (in fact outside of a few mentions the plot doesn’t have any ulterior motives in trying to enforce Christianity) and overall my attention was kept and I want to read the next book to see how it unfolds, but because this book didn’t feel especially well fleshed out and suffers from a few newbie flaws, I can’t rate it higher than 3 stars. I feel like this is a very casual read despite the blurb trying to make it into something much darker; it touches on a few darker themes (mentions a rapist and pedophile and torture and murder and death) but nothing gets very detailed. The sex scenes are very chaste, very mild, but still tasteful. Not hardly erotica; more like just a few paragraphs of acknowledging that they’re having sex and how connected and in love they feel the whole time. There’s no descriptive words that tell you graphically what’s happening, just a few short, vague insinuations like “he slipped inside me.”
My feelings are more on the neutral end, but I think I liked it well enough for what it was. I read the whole book in a single sitting and felt engaged the whole time. I will likely read the next book when it comes out. I know this review sounds a bit more negative than this final statement reflects, but it’s just that these points are easier to discuss at length, whereas the merits of the book are much simpler and quicker to list and seem more evident just through the nature of the book and don’t need to be listed or spoken about as much to be praised. I think if you’re after a casual paranormal book about demons that’s suited for a bit of an older audience (like 16+ if not 18+) and don’t mind the jarring cliffhangers, then this is something to look into definitely. I wouldn’t call it a grand piece of literature or anything, but as a quick little read to scratch that itch for a fantasy with sweet romance it serves its purpose very well.
*I received a free copy via net galley but in no way does that affect my opinion*
Thank you to NetGalley and Red Coat PR for an ARC of this book.
2.5 stars
The premise of this book really appealed to me (it's like Twilight but without the vampires) and I'll admit the cover art grabbed my attention but I just could not stand the immature writing. I understand that this is a YA novel and the writing is not going to be as sophisticated as an adult lit book but it felt like I was reading a rough draft of the novel or at best some decent Fan Fiction. This was really frustrating because the plot was excellent but in the end I was reading the book just to get through it.
I honestly really enjoyed this book. It was fun, cute and if you include the Devil in the mix, I WILL love it.
Now the reason why I didn't give more stars is, although it was a good story, it felt a lot like Twilight; random girl falls in a love with a mysterious guys and their love is like no others.
If that doesn't bother you, I would give this book a chance, Like I said, I had a good time reading it and I will read Part 2 ☺️

I really enjoyed the storyline, the idea and where the book is trying to go, but the execution was a bit lacking to me . It was a bit to YA for my liking, but I am sure there are many people out there who would love it for that exact reason. I have bought the 2nd and 3rd books and will be reading them to see what happens and how it all plays out .
Look at that cover isn’t it gorgeous!! It is what drew me to the novel... Anyway on to the review. The story is about Vivian French who becomes an intern at a law firm. He head of this firm is well known and his sons are all beautiful, yet Vivian is attracted to the cold brooding youngest one, Caleb (its always the broody ones). Thing is this family is holding a secret, they are demons. And rarely a human appears who is able to mate with these demons, and change the balance of power. On the one hand you have the universe seemingly drawing the two protagonists together, on the other you have organisations and even Caleb’s own family trying to keep them apart.
I am conflicted with this book at certain points it seemed utterly ridiculous and gave many eye rolling moments in fact I can’t really think of a single thing I liked in the novel. However, the more the book progressed the more I wanted to see what happened as we gathered more information about the background of these characters.
Vivian and Caleb annoyed me, it is a typical insta love situation, now if we are being lenient we can say ‘but the universe made them souls mates of course insta love’ but, sigh, maybe I’m getting old, but I do think that a conversation between the two might be wise. Caleb sees Vivian once and is obsessed with her, they probably say around 10 sentences towards each other before they are making out. When they are together he seems moody and aloof (because somehow authors think this is the most attractive type of men), again this suits him being a demon, but it would have been nice to have more significant moments between the two and him lightening up. Also, is it really ok to have a demon as a love triangle, I think it is iffy, I mean this family has straight up murdered people and been entirely evil,I don’t know if I can agree with Vivian accepting this easily.
Stalder created something new in that this wasn’t set in a school or university, Vivian interns at a law firm, but I don’t see how this was completely necessary. Vivian mentions once her love of the law, but doesn’t actually tell us why, nor are we shown her dedication. As soon as Caleb and Vivian become a thing the law firm all but disappears, so you end up thinking what was the point of it in the first place. Plot wise there wasn’t much of one, we are given the threat of Caleb’s father who disapproves of the match as he likes being in control, but until very late in the novel, the plot just plods along, with nothing to much of consequence. Other characters are introduced but the blend together.
There is a semi love triangle going on, with the third guy hanging around but I can see the relationship developing later on. So be warned triangle haters!
However, as I said , towards the end the pace picked up, maybe as the romance took a back seat, and I was keen to see what happened to the characters, hence me rating it two stars. Given the cliffhanger ending I will look into the second novel (free on kindle unlimited). I have a feeling though this is a novel I will completely forget in a couple of days!
Janelle Stalder is a new author to me. I'm glad I got the opportunity to read this book. I love books about angels and took a chance with this one. I'll say I don't regret it and I need the second book soon.
I didn't know what to make of Caleb and his brothers Kellan and Collin. Let's say I don't like Kellan. I'm not sure about Collin but Caleb I'm so happy was the one for Vivian. I liked how things developed between them and how Caleb's feelings developed. Caleb is someone who is not use to feeling things. Except for his mother. He cares deeply for and understands why she feels the way she does. I can't stand his father.
I like how Caleb changes and will do anything to protect Vivian. Vivian is sweet and innocent. But she doesn't listen to what people tell her.
I can't stand Artem. I don't know about him in the next book but I hope he's not forgiven. He's a fool and the worst. I sort of liked him when he first appeared not anymore.
I can't wait for the next book. This book ends in a huge cliffhanger that makes me want to scream because o want to next book now. I highly recommend this book. I absolutely loved it.
Thank you t0 Netgalley, the publisher and author for the chance to read this book in return for my honest opinion
I enjoyed reading this story. It was definitely a teen novel but I felt that the characters were pretty well written and the storyline was very teen love/angsty, kind of Twilight like in the feel of it. I liked it though and it worked, I feel that the storyline was a little rushed at some points, the characters seemed to fall in love pretty quick, but other than that, it was a good read. I might read a sequel in this series.
I loved this book! Seeing how Caleb and Vivian met was too cute I love them as a couple 😍 Kellan was totally unexpected, Dermot is clearly a psycho
And Blake! Really Blake is here too! Having already read future books from the series, it's really clouding my judgement here!
Also having read the future books I had a vague idea what was supposed to happen but by God this was not what I was expecting! I did not imagine that in my wildest dreams!
Time to get started on Poise now... I need a Hea or at least a HFN

Actual Rating: 3.5 Stars! Same Review Also Posted In My Blog: Dreamy Addictions
Firstly, I loved the cover of the book which looks beautiful and gorgeous and secondly, It was my second series from the author so I’m very excited to read this. It’s a story about fallen angels, a human girl and a prophecy which sounds pretty much cliched but I do want to give this a try. So, I enjoyed reading this book but not as much as I did with Switch which is Janelle’s other book from the New world series that I really loved. Nonetheless, Balance is an entertaining and engaging paranormal romance. It’s not only a forbidden love story but also a fight between light and dark.
When high school graduate and aspiring prosecutor Vivian French lands an internship in Banks and Sons, the biggest law firm in town, she meets Dermont Banks and his sons who are hot eye candies. The Banks sons has a certain charm that attracts every women in the vicinity and she didn’t want to involve with any of them but something intrigues her about Caleb, Dermont’s youngest son who is quiet unfriendly and cold. But when Caleb suddenly recognizes her presence, she gets pretty confused by his behavior including his father and his brothers. Vivian doesn’t want to jeopardize her position by having a relationship with her boss’s son but neither can deny the attraction they feel towards each other. Dermont Banks and his sons aren’t what they seem and they harbor a dark secret that vivian is unaware of. Everyone is against vivian and Caleb’s relationship especially Dermont and when Vivian finally learns about the dark secret, her whole world turns upside down.
Vivian is a pretty likable and relatable character but she didn’t impressed me much either. She is sweet, innocent, naive and trusts people pretty easily but it doesn’t mean she’s weak either. I loved Caleb! He might seem a bit rude with his cold glares at the beginning but later on he becomes quite protective of her. He is a fallen angel who is supposed to be bad but after meeting Vivian he feels something for her that he shouldn’t be. It isn’t a insta-love but there is definitely a insta-attraction which I can accept with this book. I liked the romance between Vivian and Caleb and they had a great chemistry that I really enjoyed. The Supporting characters like Dermont, Collin and Kellan are not bad but they didn’t held my interest much so I hope they change my mind in the next book.
The plot is good but to be honest most of the aspects in this book seemed pretty much cliched. Being an avid reader of paranormal fiction books, I felt this was an overused paranormal trope but still I enjoyed Vivian and Caleb’s growing relationship. It was a decent paranormal romance that many readers would like to read. The pacing is good and I also liked the writing style. The story was told in multiple pov’s which I usually hate and surprisingly, I had no issue with it in this book.
Overall, it was a good start for a new series! Though it wasn’t up to my expectations, I would definitely look forward to the next book because the cliffhanger ending really piqued my interest and I want to know what happens next.
Overall Assessment: I finished this book in less than a day because I spent every spare moment reading this. I haven’t been consumed by a book like that in a long time. I have read the New World Series by Janelle Stalder and really enjoy her writing style. If you haven't checked that series out, you definitely should! Link to first book: Switch
This is a paranormal romance, but it’s not overly graphic. If you don’t normally read romances, this could be a good one to ‘dip your toe’ into.
Oh, and it ends on a massive cliffhanger.
As I’ve said in previous reviews, I don’t mind cliffhangers but for those of you who do: You’ve been warned! But don’t fret! Stalder is releasing book two hopefully in the beginning of next year so we won’t have to wait long to find out what happens.
What I liked: – The characters are likeable. I know this may seem like a silly thing, but if I can’t connect to the main characters I can’t stick with it. Vivian is relatable and isn’t your ‘so pretty, but doesn’t know she is’, clumsy, aloof female like soooooo many other female lead characters in new adult/paranormal romances. – This is a new spin on the Devil. Most fallen angel stories I read God is also a central part of the storyline, but this one focused mostly on the devil and the world he has built around him. I’m curious to see if God is incorporated at all in the next one. – The progression of the story was constant and never made me feel bored or want to skim ahead. It flowed smoothly and transitioned to different points of view fairly seamlessly.
What I didn’t: – There were a couple of inconsistencies that I can’t put in here because of spoilers. They aren’t major, but enough that it distracted me out of the story for a few moments. – Not really a ‘didn’t like’ because I think I understand why it was like this (spoilers if I told you), but I’m not a huge fan of insta-love. The whole relationship moved very fast. Too fast to believe they held a real connection.
Would I recommend this book to family and/or friends? Yes
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this e-book for free through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Aspiring lawyer Vivian French has been accepted as a summer intern at the top legal defense firm in her city. Its owner, the mysterious Dermont Banks, has a reputation for representing the most heinous of offenders. He also happens to have three handsome sons. Unbeknownst to her, Vivian is the subject of a prophecy -- for her association with the son of the devil will bring about the end of the world.
Pros: The Devil, Satan, Lucifer, etc., does not exist; these are merely names and characteristics conjured up by humans. Instead, Dermont is the personification of darkness, given life to balance out the light. While the god of Christianity does exist in the context of this world, He plays no role in the narrative. Instead, there are passing mentions of angels and their human agents.
Every few centuries, a woman is born to be the devil's mate; the only one capable of bearing him children. Proximity to the devil brings long life ... and eventual insanity.
Cons: As is typical of paranormal romances, the chemistry is instantaneous between Vivian and devil's son, Caleb. They quickly fall in love and consummate their relationship within a few weeks. And while I might have found sneaking into your girlfriend's house while her parents are sleep romantic as a teenager, those years are long behind me and I just find it creepy and unrealistic. I'm also confused as to the "balance" of the title. The secret society that watches the devil and his brood believe that if Vivian and Caleb have a child, that child will be the Anti-Christ. Also, what happened to the other demon children from centuries before? Do they die, or does the devil end up killing them? The book also ends on the most cliffhangery of cliffhangers.
In summation: Interesting concept. A bit too much insta-love.
First off, look at the cover! Absolutely stunning and beautifully broken. Same words can be said about Balance. I've read only a couple of books about fallen angels but this one has to be my favorite. Vivian French is a high school graduate with aspirations of being a prosecutor. Luckily, she landed a summer internship with one of most prestigious law firms in New York, Banks and Sons. Dermot Banks and his sons are infamous for their good looks and ability to free blatantly obvious criminals from their crimes. Although, Vivian wants to put away the criminals, working at Banks and Sons will give her a perspective from the other side. Little did she know, meeting one of the Banks' sons would turn her world upside down. Call it fate, call it divine intervention but it cannot be. In order to maintain the balance between good and evil, choices need be made in hopes that destiny doesn't take its course.
This review is going to be vague since I don't want to spoil the experience a reader may go through while reading Balance. I jumped into this book with every intention that it'll resemble the Fallen Series but thankfully, I was proven wrong. Mystery, darkness, love, and hope linger between the pages and the ending will grasp you at the neck with anticipation. I can't wait to see where this series is headed but as far as I can tell, it is going to be one hell of a ride.
Thank you Red Coat PR and NetGalley for this eBook in exchange for an honest review.
Usually these types of books are not my go to, but the premise behind this one rather intrigued me and I have to say Stalder did not disappoint with this story. Plus I think the cover is one of my favorites of the year! Unique and spellbinding, this tale takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that has a lot of twists and turns which keeps you on your feet. The thought process behind this one is amazing and really leaves you to wonder. I am not religious by any means but what Stalder brought to the table with this, really leaves you to think. The passion between Vivian and Caleb is scorching. That first love feel. But their connection is unique and it freaks out a lot of people including the two of them. I really enjoyed watching these two get involved. Caleb is one fiercely protective demon who will leave you swooning even though you really shouldn’t! That ending though!! That was killer and I really cannot wait to see what is to come with Vivian and how it will play out for her and if Caleb will do whatever it takes for her!
Janelle has done it again!! I honestly do not think that I could ever read something that she wrote that I do not like!
This is a paranormal romance about fallen angels and demons. I have not read a book in this genre in such a long time, so when I saw this one, I was immediately intrigued! I was completely sucked in from the moment I started it until the very end! This is definitely a one-sitting kind of book! You all have been warned, so I can easily say "I told ya so!"
My favorite character would have to be Caleb! Can I say "la swoon?" I really liked him from the beginning with his silent sexy smirk and his don't care about anyone attitude! I loved how much he got under Viv's skin before she had even started talking to him!
Oh holy son of a cliffhanger!!! Janelle is superbly good at these also and darn it, she has done it again! She has left me wanting even more after I had spent a whole day with these characters only to leave me hanging!!! BUT...She was nice enough to let us know that the second installment is right around the corner...which makes me INSANELY happy!!!
I have mixed feelings about this book. It felt like there were two storylines, an office romance and a supernatural one.
It was probably about halfway through the book that the stories merge and you finally see the bigger picture. From that point on, for me, it was actually much more enjoyable to read.
Vivian meets Caleb during her summer work placement at a law firm. He is the one of the owner's sons and is the most unapproachable and unfriendly of the brothers. Vivian has her sights set on being a prosecutor and doesn't want the complication of relationships. Life has other plans for both of them and they quickly become an item much to the chagrin of others.
I will admit to getting to the end of the book and being stunned by how it "didn't" end but honestly, I took the that in good spirit and had a laugh about how sneaky the author was.... what a hook for the next book!
I received this as an ARC which I voluntarily read.
Balance is a romance sprinkled with paranormal elements of good versus evil, demons and angels if you will. This story is about a girl who nabs a summer internship at a successful law firm which is where she meets an enigmatic and gorgeous boy. Everything escalates from there. As their relationship grows, so does the good and evil elements. I can't go into it further without spoiling the plot however once the climax of the story hits, things are explained and everything makes even more sense. This is part one of a series and ends in a cliffhanger. Balance is a well written, young adult romance with paranormal elements and mystery strewn throughout. I enjoyed this story and look forward to part two. Balance is estimated to release on November 29, 2016.
Mysterious intrigue, alluring darkness, aspiring love, eternal devotion, and the infamous free will to choose right/wrong, good/evil, life/death. This was a spectacular beginning to a new intriguing series. The names says it all. This for me was a balance of it all. I was on the edge of a new adult romance with aspect of paranormal/fantasy.
Vivian has her life set before her. Choices to make and paths to cross. Caleb, Collin, and Kellan makes the read richer and filling. There are those you are drawn to and will have to change your mind as you go. Will they redeem themselves moving forward. Go in to this read knowing full well that this part was created to entice you and remeber its only part one. There are rich character and a story line that draws you along. Just be prepared it does not end with the last page.
