About the author

Mohan Rangachari (16 October 1952 – 10 June 2019) known professionally as Crazy Mohan, was an Indian actor, comedian, screenwriter and playwright. An engineer by profession, Mohan started writing plays and established his own drama troupe called "Crazy Creations" in 1979. In addition to dramas and tele-serials, Mohan worked as a dialogue writer on a number of comedy films. Mohan had written over 30 plays, worked on over 40 films, having cameo roles in each film, and written 100 short stories. The Tamil Nadu state government in the year 2004, awarded him the Kalaimamani title for excellence in the field of arts and literature.

கிரேசி மோகன் (1952 - 2019) தமிழ் திரையுலகில் கதை-வசன கர்த்தாவாகவும், நடிகராகவும் பணியாற்றியவர். இது தவிர நாடக ஆசிரியராகவும் பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். பல மேடை நாடகங்களை இயக்கி நடித்துள்ளார். அடிப்படையில் பொறியாளாரான இவர் நடிகர் கமல்ஹாசன் மூலம் சினிமாவில் அறிமுகம் ஆனார். அபூர்வ சகோதரர்கள் திரைப்படத்திற்கு வசனம் எழுதியதன் மூலமாக திரையுலகில் அறிமுகமான இவர் தொடர்ந்து மைக்கேல் மதன காமராஜன், பஞ்ச தந்திரம், வசூல்ராஜா எம்.பி.பி.எஸ் உள்ளிட்ட பல திரைப்படங்களுக்கு கதை-வசன கர்த்தாவாக பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். முழுக்கவே நகைச்சுவையாக எழுதுவது இவரது சிறப்பு.

The book seemed more like a inspiration of washingtonil thirumanam by saavi. How kiccha through his crazy ways could gain so much respect in america is suttled out in comical way. Since it is crazy mohan we would expect lot of comedy in dialogue, situation and flow. But that expectation results in a bigger let down here. Though above average but that coming from CM sir is below par.

But that doesnt mean there is not much comedy, there are good amount of comedy but they are far spread. In a book of 160 if there is one comedy once in 5 pages it does not fit in well. I would rather be more satisfied to see sathileelavathi or meesai analum manavi again over reading this book. Sorry in case my review seems to be harsh this is just my perspective. A avoidable affair according to me

This book written by crazy mohan as I know him from some of the Kamal movies where he worked as a dialogue writer is very witty and intellectual in nature. This book is an easy go no brainer book and entertains the readers by narating many funny incidents happened when he toured United States for his shows. As we see in movies, we could relate few of his jokes and plays with words ( like munadi pinadi) . The motif of the book carried through out is, a tamilian going to America and his struggles to decipher the culture n behavior of the people. Can read once if you feel bored.

வாசிங்டனில் திருமணம் கதையின் இன்னொரு வடிவத்தை (version) படித்தது போல இருந்தது. சில இடங்களில் கிரேசி மோகனின் அடையாளம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் நகைச்சுவைக்காக கதாநாயகன் கதாப்பாத்திரத்தை அதிகமாக மட்டம் தட்டியது போலிருந்தது.

அமெரிக்காவில் எல்லாம் தனியார் மயம் ஆதலால் சிறப்பாக இருக்கிறதெனில் அதிலும் பல குறைகள் உள்ளது. நுகர்வோர்களின் பாதுகாப்பு இந்தியாவை விட அதிகமாக உறுதியும் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது ஒரு காரணம் என்று நினைக்கிறேன்.

Hilarious, funny and the flow was so spontaneous as it would in the movies that Crazy Mohan penned his scripts. Unfortunately he is no more, but the hilarity and the spontaneity of his humour will be everlasting. Though some of the areas contain jokes that are bland, they are still enjoyable. A hilarious read, overall!

The primary target of this book is the Tambrahm community (the person that crazy is, I am not surprised :-) ). A thoroughly enjoyable fun ride as is expected of crazy mohan, although it is no different from watching a stage play of his. Some sentences, though funny, are tiringly long.

வெகு நாட்களுக்கு பிறகு ஒரு நல்ல புத்தகம் வாங்கி வாசித்து முடித்த அனுபவம். கதாநாயகன் அடிக்கும் லூட்டியில் துளி கூட சினிமா கலப்பில்லாத ஒரு நாடக தொனி கொண்ட புத்தகம்.

It was my first book that I tried in humour genre. I never thoght mere words can bring laughter or even smile. But I was wrong. Crazy sir was so funny with his choice of words and the analogies that he used were hilarious.
I sometimes used to think, whetehr this Kicha was original or just a fictional character. But once so much into the novel, i stopped pondering about it.

Very nice read. I was laughing throughout the time I was reading this book. Typical Crazy Mohan sir's comedies by over exaggerating every situation. Missed him very much while reading this book. Will definitely recommend this book especially during such testing times to lighten the mood and have a heartfelt laugh.

Major drawbacks:
1. 5-6 chapters longer than needed
2. Becomes predictable beyond a point
