Another series from the Immortal Universe Ops,Midnight Echoes Finally I was able to meet one of the Fang Gang, though I was hoping to meet the whole team but instead get to meet an entire family...
The story maybe short but still intriguing enough and will get you hooked at once.. Bhalthair, Bhailthair, Bhaltair... All I can say is I want more of him.. Not enough and I hope he'll still be featured on the other books in the series... 🤔🤔
I dont know what is it about Mandy Roth's book that it got me stupidly hooked and cant get enough of them 😔😏
There is just something about the fang gang. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the ops books, but the vampires just seem more. The author has made them old, with the classic proper air we expect, and a beautiful brutality that we don’t see in the shifters or fae. I really enjoyed this book and the way that these two had to overcome preconceived notions, protective alpha males and a group of baddies to reach their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the ops series.
At last the Fang Gang has arrived and another sexy Scot has claimed my heart from Striker!!
Meena is the pure human relation to the Vampire leader. Her sister somehow managed to be HUman with..extras but not quite vampire but she drew the short straw and training to defend herself can leave her literally broken! Bhaltair is her grandfathers right hand man and has been involved in her life since she was a baby. She would give anything to have him see her as anything but a frail and fragile human.
Talk about reformed bad boy! Bhaltair is dark, dangerous and totally droolworthy )He is Scottish so I'm going to be biased!!) Meena had tried her best to stay away from the training room while her sister trained, cause she always felt when he looked at her it was if he looked too hard she just might break. But lately she had found herself drawn to the room, not because of Rose, it was her grandfather's second-in-command who was doing the training, Bhaltair. But he gets his boxers in a bunch when he finds out Meena has plans to date a wolf! Sure the guy may be a meek and mild professor but he is not the man for Meena. Bhaltair wants to be that man but he is terrified he'd hurt Meena, inadvertently or not. Then there is the small matter of his best friend, Meenas grandfather, and her father killing him once they found out what he did!
Crimson Ops (Fang gang) series has started with a bang and I'm intrigued to know what happens next. Rose seems to be a bit of a Mean Girl and I'm not sure I like her yet so not sure how that's going to work out. Whitney, Meena's father's best friend, almost steals the show with his surfer boy looks but Bhaltair holds his own. I'm already trying to figure who gets who for a mate and my head is reeling! Great characters and now we finally get to see the Fang Gang in action!
This novella is short and sweet, with a bit of erotica, but opens up the world of the Crimson Ops, which have already been mentioned in the PSI/Immortal series. Bhaltair is an old vampire, who looks in his thirties, and he works for Meena’s dad (nod to the choice of name there). Meena is a human offspring of a vampire and fae mating, is easily hurt and is a bookworm. Her sister Rose however is incredibly powerful and also seems jealous of her older human sister. As a human, Meena can’t have sec with supernaturals, but it doesn’t stop the vampire from wanting her. In this, we get more of the same, but Roth seems to know when to switch it up to keep her readers interested. The side plot here is that The Corporation are still at large. Funny, romantic and fast-paced, this is another solid novella instalment.
I didn’t realize this was a novella till I started reading but it was great going to the Immortal Universe world. The story follows Bhaltair and Meena. It was interesting to learn the backstory of the two and to discover how Bhaltair has been ignoring the signs. This is a fast pace read, with some action, and steamy scenes. The narrator, D.C. Cole does a wonderful job portraying all of the characters with a wide variety of tones and inflections. I thoroughly enjoy how he brings the characters to life.
He’s walked a fine line throughout his immortally long life and has very few regrets. He’s always had everything he’s ever wanted....that is until Meena. As a human descendant to the master vampire he serves, Meena isn’t on the menu. That is until he learns he’s in danger of losing her to another supernatural male.
Meena Emathia was born to supernatural parents, and knew of werewolves, vampires and faeries but she wasn't like them, she was born a human, she loved her family dearly but more often than not she felt like an outsider looking in. Bhaltair used to train Meena and her sister Rose on how to protect themselves, that was until one move from Bhaltair and Meena came away with two broken bones. From then, Bhaltair had refused to train her. Meena had tried her best to stay away from the training room while her sister trained, cause she always felt when he looked at her it was if he looked too hard she just might break. But lately she had found herself drawn to the room, not because of Rose, it was her grandfather's second-in-command who was doing the training, Bhaltair. For some reason she couldn't explain the need to touch the man, sometimes it was so overwhelming, she felt she had to fight the feelings.
It's the first of the Crimson Ops (Fang gang) books, and as always Ms Roth doesn't let you down. It's Fangtastic! (terrible I know but couldn't help myself) Anyhoo this novella is jam packed full of new interesting characters and action, with an alpha male vampire who doesn't realise the gift he has been given, a female lead whose got a strong back bone, it's also got romance, great fighting scene, sexual encounter, Mandy's own taste of humour. Infact the first half of this story had me laughing aloud several times over to the point my ribs were hurting, and last but not least the HEA. I really hope Whitney gets to find his mate and Mandy writes about it. If I could I would give more than the five stars allowed.

This is Meena and Bhaltair's story.

Even though this story was short but sweet and also had action. Great story loved the characters and of course fell in love with the main character. I couldn't put the book down lol
Midnight Echoes is perfect for that bedtime treat yourself to romance moment. Take a moment to escape into the world of Immortal Ops with this first story in the Crimson Ops series. A world where the immortal races are threatened by an evil group called The Corporation. In
In Midnight Echoes Bhaltair is a member of the Crimson Ops, a group of vampire immortal ops. Once upon a time Bhaltair wasn’t such an above the board vampire. Then his master got mated and decided to clean up his act. Now Bhaltair travels the somewhat straight and narrow. As an operative he fights the machinations of The Corporation and protects his master’s family. The last few years though have become a struggle as his master’s granddaughter, Meena reached maturity and became his number one temptation. A temptation Bhal must avoid at all costs in fear of doing her harm in her frail state of humanity. His only hope is that with sexual maturity her latent powers might become unleashed… powers there are no guarantee of. The thought of Meena with a human is hard enough but when the possibility that she might be seeing another supernatural come to light… all bets are off.
Meena has spent her life in a supernatural household descended from vampire and fae lineage. But unlike her sister she appears to have no supernatural powers of her own. Rather she is frail, clumsy and all too human. Her frail humanity has encouraged her to become rather bookish and boring in the eyes of her sister. Of course her lack of supernatural powers does her no good when it comes to the one man she is interested in, Bhaltair. The taboo possibility of a relationship with a supernatural holds all kinds of appeal for someone who feels like an outsider in her own home.
Destiny and fate have different plans for Bhaltair and Meena. Where there may seem to be no path, destiny will create one, for these two are definitely fated to be. Midnight Echoes is an enjoyable read and a great introduction to the Crimson Ops series. If you like paranormal military ops romances you’re going to enjoy this one. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****
Bhaltair💘Meena! Great Story! Great Audible Listen🎧
Midnight Echoes Immortal Ops: Crimson Ops Series, Book 1 By: Mandy M. Roth Narrated by: D. C. Cole
Another fascinating story by Mandy M. Moore. She is a gifted & creative author. I am fairly new to her work and am loving the imaginative world and characters she has created. The storylines and characters are interesting and well developed. This is Meena & Bhaltair’s story, an unlikely pair, she human and he a centuries old vampire. Bhaltair always felt something for Meena but she was off limits and as powerful as he is he it is possible he may hurt her if they had a physical relationship. Unbeknownst to them, there may be more to Meena, she may hold some dormant supernatural powers. Their story is a fast moving one, there is drama, angst, action and some romance. Mandy M. Moore thanks for anther great story, I am looking forward to checking out more of your work.
I listened to the Audible edition, D.C. Cole is an amazing narrator and voice performer. He brings the characters to life, gives each their own unique voice and personality. I love the accents he use and his ability to switch dialogue between characters with such ease. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to! Thanks for another great listen🎧
Loved this book and did not put it down! It had me hooked. I have read every I-Ops world book and this one was wow as I expected it to be. Bhaltair has known Meena since she was born, before then really. He is very protective of her, he does not want to harm her. His feelings towards her change when she becomes of age but why as she is only human. He could hurt her or worse, kill her, if he gives in. Meena has been having fantasies about her Grandfather's friend Bhaltair . Yes he is old, but he is a vampire.
I loved the push and pull of these two. She wants to be more than human and he wants to be more human. When Meena mentions another man, oh all hell breaks loose. But Bhaltair does not know why he is acting this way (duh MATE).To be as old as he is he is a little dense. Then Meena's life is in danger and oh crap on a cracker the crap hits the fan again.
There is a HEA with this one, but no spoiler zone here. This is one of those books that I did not put down.
Ooooh, I liked this one. I liked it a lot. And since it's part of a very large world, I have LOTS to look forward to when I dive in.
Now, I'm not normally a fan of a hero making decisions for the good of the heroine. But. BUT. I kinda got where Bhaltair was coming from with his choice to stay away from Meena. I mean, the fact he could break bones and hurt her badly if he got a little too enthusiastic is a bit of a mood killer. But I also think he probably should have tried to explain things instead of just avoiding the lady.
FYI, I don't particularly like Meena's sister. Her attitude toward Meena set my teeth on edge.
But that's neither here nor there. I really liked the world. I liked how the two ended up together. *thumbs up*
I really really like all these books so far they really kept my interest I just hate that they're so expensive and they're such short stories they cost more than what the book is worth. And this one Meena and Bhaltair come to terms that they are mates. She is only human he's a vampire and frayed that he's going to hurt her. So he stays away. Till he finds out there's a guy that she's going to meet at the library and he's a paranormal Anna with shifter and there's no way in hell he's going to let her go by herself. The book was good like I said I really liked all the books just too short for what the price
Another form of Immortals Vampires and not ones like the early Vampires, these are definitely different. Vampire and Crimson Operative Bhaltair hasn’t always played for the side of good. He’s walked a fine line throughout his immortally long life and has very few regrets. He’s always had everything he’s ever wanted—that is until Meena. As a human descendant to the master vampire he serves. Now he finds that he might loose her to another Immortal, will he fight to keep the woman he has come to love and care for, will Meena accept him for what he is, a great story and a great adventure to loose one self in.
Keenan and Bhaltair are an unlikely couple but once you know the truth about them they make perfect sense. He is a vampire who has know her since birth and she is a human...or is she. Mandy Roth can spin a tale with the best of them and you will be riveted to your seat when you read any of her books. Every time I read one of herbooksi am amazed at her detailed character development. She makes you believe her stories and Cate deeply for her chapters. Even though this is a quick read you care for the characters and want the HEA ending for Merna and Bhaltair. You must read this author she is so good.
Midnight Echoes is Bhaltair's story. Bhaltair has been alive for centuries! He spent most of those years on the wrong side so when it comes to the blessing of a mate he doesn't believe he deserves one. He is strong and loyal to a fault so being attracted to his master's granddaughter is a betrayal he can't have. Meena was born human which is an oddity since her dad is a vampire and her mom is a Fae. Meena is tired of being different and longs to be like everyone else. Things aren't always how they seem so when her life is threatened and Baltair gives her his blood to save her life he set her powers free!!
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this novella was written! I generally don't like how fast and cliche novella story lines develop, but Mandy Roth developed this nicely. "Guard turned lover" has been done before, but the twists and plot development in this novella kept me reading and wanting more! I love how they each deny the love they have for one another right up until the end.
I've loved the Immortal Ops series since it began. Even the spin off series are awesome Each book is truly a love story. When you read a book and it feels as if you are there watching it unfold then you know the author amazing. Thank you Mandy Roth Keep them coming!
Read as part of the anthology: "Taming the Vampire." Loved, loved, LOVED this book! This was my first time reading this author and I'm so glad I did! Now I will be checking out her Immortal Ops series as well as seeing how she continues this series! Will definitely be checking out other titles from this author once I finish reading the anthology.
The attraction between Meena and Bhaltair is electrifying. It a sweet love story, I only wished it as longer. The attack in the library was so realistic. Good read
Although I enjoy reading these on the Kindle, I somehow think the book form is longer reading. I am just glad these books follow one another, they are really page turners.
I chose this rating because i absolutely loved reading about big strong sexy as sin on a stick vampires, werewolves & Bear shifters are my absolutely favorite to read..Thank you Mandy Roth
As with all the ops books the characters are fully developed, the plot though paranormal are totally plausible and the book much too short because the reader never wants the journey to end.
A perfect couple that doesn’t even realize they are each other’s mate. Even though this is a quick listen, you get all the feels through the book and end up very happy with the results. Amazing narration!!
This it the first book in the Crimpson Ops Series. This is a short novella. Bhaltair and Meena's story is fun and action packed. Now, I can't wait to listen to the next book in the Series. D.C. Cole did an amazing job with the narration.
good.i read this as part of the taming a vampire boxset. i liked this book. i wish it was longer because it seemed like it was over as soon as it started. still a good book tho. :)
Great story. I was a bit lost as to who the characters were at first but that cleared up quickly. I connected with Meena because she almost felt like an outcast.
