It takes a very practical approach toward implementing Scrum without compromising on its values and principles. A useful and handy reference for Scrum practitioners!— Gopinath R, Agile coach and practitioner
A wonderful small book about Scrum and a great reminder of the details. I wonder when we will see an updated version that takes into account the Scrum 2020 changes.
very good book, providing a lot of insights ... as the title suggests :-) ... must read for every Scrum Master and also highly recommended for POs and Dev Team members
a good introduction to practicing scrum in the real world
Scrum insights for practitioners is an excellent read for people new to scrum who are seeking to understand scrum from a practical view - how do scrum work in the real world? Also, it serves as a great reference material for experienced scrum practitioner to deepening their practical implementation of scrum. I enjoy the discussions around the imperfections of scrum for example can I person be a product owner and a developer in a scrum team? The book got the balance behind the theory and practice of scrum. One area of improvement will be to make the book more visual. Overall, this is a 5 star book on scrum
The simplicity of scrum is captured in the most beautiful way and this book complements the scrum guide perfectly. When read in conjunction with the scrum guide it clarifies a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings that the light nature of scrum guide might add for a reader. Although the scrum guide is clear enough, Hiren's book adds a perspective that's valuable to any Scrum practitioner.
There are hundreds of books out there on agile and scrum, but this one has struck me as the simplest and the easiest to understand book that I have ever read on the topic. Hiren's wealth of experience in agile projects comes through, along with his skills as a trainer in this volume that I would rate as a must read for any agile practitioner.
Simple and crisp! A quick Handbook to start with your Scrum journey. Hiren captures the myths and misconceptions of Scrum implementation very nicely in this book. If you are planning to start your Scrum journey or recently started on it, I highly recommend it. Definitely a good companion for Scrum Guide. A good refresher for me!
This book has some really great insights about what it takes to actually "do" Scrum. Hiten Doshi has actually "read between the lines" when going through The Scrum Guide and has made his key takeaways available to all of us!
Highly recommended to those who are getting started with PSM Certification Path!
It was okay, but I wouldn't read it again. It has several good insights and examples, but it is based on an older Scrum Guide and not the 2020 Scrum Guide. I recommend reading it only if you are already familiar with the 2020 SG because it has different rules and terminology. All in all, read for the examples and cases and not for studying for the exam.
Short, concise, but not too boring. Little bit less abstract and more practical. It answers some real-world practical questions about Scrum, but don't expect too much.
I lke the reading. It is objective, clear and easy to understand. Really recommend for those that are not familiar with scrum and are planning to take PSM I exam.
Hiren has compiled a good book for agile newbies who are looking to understand the spirit of Scrum beyond the Scrum Guide. It is a slim book, and can help practitioners get a good perspective in just a couple hours.
This book has detailed explanation of everything that is briefly mentioned in Scrum guide. Reading scrum guide, as recommended in the book, has helped. The simplistic language and emphasis put on explaining each Scrum concept make this book a good read for beginners.
It's one of the best books I have read on Agile Scrum. Please, at least read once. It is well written and still can be used for any Scrum certifications.
This is one of the best book i have come across on Agile. Anyone trying to move into agile mindset .. this is the perfect book.. Must read and highly recommended .
A nice refresher of some of the guidelines of Scrum and techniques that can be used to master the framework. Nothing new for people having a bit of practical experience with Scrum though.
