I have a 3.5 year old who is a big fan of garbage trucks. He seemed to like this one, although he has not demanded multiple readings. I really enjoyed the illustrations, which are bold and colorful, and I like how the garbage trucks themselves stand out against a minimal, but still complementary background. I found the text a bit forced...I'm sure that it's really challenging to write rhymes that aren't annoying, and there's a trade-off where the rhyme does provide energy and movement. There's also a compromise between speaking down to toddlers and using phrasing/vocabulary that won't engage them because they don't really understand it. It's nitpicky, but I suspect that the knuckleboom should be hoisting waste, not heisting it. Overall, I do think that this will have some good adventures with us, and that my son will enjoy learning about the subtleties of garbage trucks (since he is currently just used to the kind that come by our house).

Wonderful book for bedtime

This is a nice book with great illustrations. The images alone will keep your child interested. I thought the images were well done. And the rhymes inside made the story fun for me read. I also thought the book was the write length. I don't like to read books that take forever to finish around bedtime. If you feel the same, then this book is for you.

Who cleans up after the parade—the garbage trucks! This delightful story focuses on the unique way that each garbage truck collects garbage. With bold illustrations and written in rhyme this engaging book will be a favourite with young readers.

I like the concept of this picture book: learning about recycling, different trucks and how they operate, and all done in a fun rhyming manner. I would recommend it to anyone who love garbage trucks.
