What's done in the dark will be brought to the light.

For overworked firefighter Gray Davies, an emergency call-out to the scene of a horrific hit-and-run is all in a day's work . . . until the terrified Asian victim disappears, leaving her blood on his hands and unanswered questions on his lips.

For his sister, Detective India Kane, it's an added complication in a far more sinister crime - a series of brutal murders the missing hit-and-run victim could hold the key to solving. With a mutilated corpse on her patch, and the dead woman's identity shrouded in secrecy, India's set on a collision course with a deadly, unknown enemy.

Her lover, Detective Chief Inspector AJ Colt, is well acquainted with the enemy - courtesy of a divisive high-profile case, he's currently public enemy #1. As cultures clash, simmering tensions explode, bringing terror and bloodshed to the streets, and placing Colt firmly in the sights of some of the country's most dangerous and deranged individuals.

When one of them brings their work home, nothing will ever be the same again - for the wages of sin . . . is death.

Bo Brennan is a ‘Crime Thriller’ writer who has lived and worked in various locations. None were exotic.

Bo's favourite past times are reading, writing, and eating. Unfortunately, the three combined do nothing for the waistline, so moving about occasionally is a must.

Bo's debut novel, STEALING POWER, featuring British Detectives India Kane and AJ Colt, is the first of a trilogy to be published.

BABY SNATCHERS is the second.

THE WAGES OF SIN is the third.

4.5 stars - deeply disturbing.

Firefighter Gray Davies is at the scene of an horrific hit-and-run and comforts the young Asian woman until she can be freed from under the vehicle. I've just realised that doesn't make sense but as I wrote the review over a month and many books ago...I think what happened is someone flicked her into the path of a truck. Moving right along - the victim is taken to hospital but, before she can be questioned, she flees. Gary, on his way to visit her sees her running away and again comes to her rescue. She is running from something terrible and is scared for her life.

Meanwhile Gray's sister, Detective India Kane is searching for the killer of a young Asian woman whose mutilated body was dumped in a park.

Meanwhile India's boyfriend, A J Colt who works in sex crimes (or some such) is trying to get convictions for 10 Asian men who had been grooming underage white girls for sex. Racial tensions run high as the men are served notices outside their mosque.

As tensions escalate, Gray brings the young woman to India's houseboat for safety. What follows is a high-octane cat-and-mouse merry-go-round and a stunning betrayal by some whose job it is to protect.

I'm Keenly awaiting more India Kane stories from Bo Brennan. But, as I said after book 2, you really should start with book 1 - Stealing Power.

I read and loved Bo Brennan’s earlier books and have only now caught up with the third. I’m happy to say it’s a cracker. DCI Colt and DC India Kane have a stormy relationship which is a backdrop to this story. It features female genital mutilation and child grooming and as such, it deals with some big issues. Kane and Colt don’t know who, even within their own organisation, they can trust. This is tense and exciting and I admit to being quite breathless with shock towards the end. If Bo Brennan can keep up this standard we are in for more brilliant stories in this series.

Wages of sin

Having read the other two books by Bo Brennan, I could not get into this book as much, which was disappointing.
Towards the end was enjoyable. This lacked the exiting read of the Baby Snatchers.
Having said this I would read more from this author.

Awesome Brilliant

Wow what a rollercoaster of a book ,Bo Brennen can certainly keep you guessing right to the very end. I could not put this book down literally, there always seems to be a lot more than two investigations going off all the way through the book, yet it all comes together in the end, it certainly keeps your mind alert, I have to admit I do read a lot and on average 3/4 books a week now I have read some fantastic books but this by far is the best I have read in years. I do mean years. It is a book that you definitely need to read you will not regret it at all, it's fast paced extremely well written and each page leaves you wanting more and more its exiting yet serious cases that Colt and Kane are involved in. I just can't wait for the next book Thank you Bo Brennen for keeping me so entertained with your novels I hope and pray your next one will not be toying before its released I definitely recommend this book 100% one of the best books you will read.

Omg omg omg!!!

More please!!!

I could not put this book down. It drove me crazy. The plot is quite difficult to follow. I read some of it twice. This is the third in the AJ Colt & India Kane book I've read. They are all fantastic. As the story progressed, Wages of Sin didn't have so much dialogue with other coppers going on. It was quite thick in with Gray, Cara, Melody and the tons of other characters and various back stories that it did get a little bit confusing. I can see why though, as the author was trying, quite successfully, to keep the truth hidden for 90% of the book!

This was a real bomb in the water ending, everything really imploded. I cannot wait for the next installment. Bo - please say there IS another installment on the way!!

Love these books😀

I have now read all 3 of Bo Brennan's books and I can't recommend them highly enough. I was lucky to stumble upon the first book when it was offered for free.I then purchased the next 2 in quick succession. I couldn't put them down! India and AJ are great characters, not without their flaws, but really fleshed out, believable human characters. The stories are very gritty but they do unfortunately reflect real life.Bo Brennan's writing is fabulous. Absolutely loved these books. Only one downside for me! I have a long wait for the next one!!!!

Moments of confusion

This book is an enigma. Difficult to follow and seems to meander. Characters that are outstanding but sometimes too much here there and everywhere. Plenty of chicanery that makes wonder what? However, this series has all good stuff with a longish ending of thrills and what to come?

Great story

This book is all over the place in an entirely good way. The topics range from pedophiles to Sharia laws and ways we westerners don’t understand. Colt and Kane sometimes work at odds but love each other and are a force to be reckoned with. Just like we see around us currently, so much corruption in high places. It makes for a really fast-moving great read.

3rd in the series

Love this series. Instead of two cops working together, we have two in a complicated relationship, working different crimes. Read all three books, ideally read in order, but can do as stand alone. Highly recommend.

Soooo good. I was hooked from the beginning. There were so many twists and turns that, unlike many similar mystery/intrigue novels, the ending was a complete surprise. It is the third in the Kane and Colt series. By far my favorite.

As with the previous two books in the series, the subject-matter is dark and disturbing, but the writing is very good and the story action-packed.

Interesting three books. I only wished the ending would be more forthcoming...not left in dark, again for the 3rd time.
