Cason Sartori never took life too seriously. He was too busy driving fast, spending his money, and seducing women. Then his wild lifestyle caught up with him in the form of a near fatal accident. The happy go lucky Cason is thrown into the depths of despair because he can't walk, his body is horribly scarred, and he's lost sight in one eye. He's sure no woman will ever look at him with interest again. With a sour attitude, he's ready to give up on life, but his brother Ezio has another plan.
Solette Turner has dealt with angry and resentful patients before in her line of work. She's sure she can get Cason up and walking again, even change his attitude about his situation. What she didn't count on was falling for him so deeply. All Solette's life, she's faced abuse and cruelty. While it looks like Cason is just another man who spouts hurtful words, she also sees his pain and wants to take it away.
Cason claims he's never been anyone's hero, but when Solette needs his protection most, he'll be there.
MY FAVORITE OF THE SATORIS SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the youngest Satori, Cason (rich playboy) was injured in a deadly car accident killing his bodyguard, Ezio, the leader of the Satoris brothers hired a sweet nurse, Solette to help make Cason through his physical therapy.
Cason didn't like the ideal but Ezio word was final in this family but Cason always got want he wanted eventually too. Ironically Cason felt a strange attraction to his "mouse," Solette and even a liking to her clever and tenacious son, Joseph.
Along the way they discovered alot about each other (good and bad) and Cason was finally the perfect hero in the end. What a great story with all the past characters of previous series. An awesome ending to the Satoris' book 3.
A must read! I also recommend that readers read this series in order:
Accepting His Baby Raising His Baby Reaching His Heart
Playboy extraordinar Cason Sartori finally meets his match, in a sweet yet mousy woman who can stand her own against him. Even with his accident that left him devastated and short tempered, Solette with a firm and gentle hand made him see there were still things to live for. Too bad Cason couldn't help doing what he does best, and seduces his nurse. This book was thoroughly enjoyable and Solette's son added cute comic relief with his antics. I loved it, and too bad there aren't anymore Sartori brothers!
I liked that it was clean, because many interracial romance books aren't. I also like that it left some things to the imagination. It did keep me interested, even though I skipped pretty often. I did like that Cason was protective of Solette. SPOILERS BELOW!
What I didn't like was how Cason would act sometimes. Sometimes his arrogance was funny and other times it was annoying. How he would talk down to Solette bugged me. He was so condescending in the beginning that I didn't believe his love for her at the end. Speaking of their "love", we really don't see any romance between them, all we hear about is the sex. The sex and her body is what he constantly thinks about when it comes to Solette and vice versa. He didn't really mention any other aspects he loved about her. He rarely, if ever, talked about her personality, character, talents, (vice versa for her as well) or if she was a good mom. And I also hated that Solette could be so "weak", she constantly gave into him, rarely put her foot down, and often made excuses for how he and Joseph Sr. treated her. She was a piece of meat to Cason and she allowed herself to be. And it boggles me that she didn't notice this until Qui Qui said it (granted I didn't agree with everything Qui Qui said, but she was right.) Cason didn't tell Solette he loved her or wanted to marry her until Romy brought it to his attention. Cason and Solette's relationship was just based on sex, there was no depth to it. No deep conversations about their future and what type of father he would be to Joseph, no romantic dates, nothing. This wasn't a love story, it was a lust story.
I also was not fond of the other characters, except Romy- he was the only one that made sense in what he said. The others were either annoying, rude, or made excuses for some characters (mainly the men's) behavior- cough cough... Shakarri, Solette, and Qui Qui... cough cough.
All in all, it wasn't a bad read but I don't think I'm going to read the other books.
I enjoyed this story and the plot earned it 4 stars, BUT there were some editing and continuity errors that took away from the story. Cason was the Sartori brother that we never expected to get married, but knew that when he fell in love he would fall hard. Solette has lived a rough life, but has made a good life for herself and her son. Her helping him back to his full life was the start of their relationship. His helping her feel safe, despite her protests, is probably what kept the relationship going. The book takes some time jumps that often left me questioning as a reader. In the beginning of the book we go from Cason being in the accident and in critical condition to him being home being rehabilitated. The book at another point jumps about six months ahead with no real transition. In another instance in the book it talks about when was Romy going to marry Sonya, but in the last pages of the book she is described as his wife. When did they get married? These issues, along with the few editing issues actually earned the book only 2 stars, but I really enjoyed the plot line.
I have read many of this authors books, so I knew I would enjoy this one too. I did not read the books in order. I read this one first but I do plan to read the others too.
This is Carson and Solette's story. Carson has been in an a near death accident and is nothing like his former self. Solette is his nurse and is nursing him back to full health. Whilst doing that she falls for Carson. He at first does not see her beauty but he does fall for her. I loved how he protected her and once he realised what he was feeling he went after her and did not let her escape. I really enjoyed this story. Looking forward to reading the other stories in this series.
