This 10th book's story line was okay. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. I liked Sara's character. My heart broke for Sara. I liked Warrick's character. My heart broke for Warrick. I liked how Warrick & Sara looked out for each other. This was a very good ending.

Another amazing story to add to this series!! This one has all the romance, mystery & suspense we've come to expect and these characters are exceptional.

Warrick Staunton can't believe his life has come to this. He's on the verge of losing everything after his father-in-law implicates his company in a recent outbreak of murders on the homeless population. This isn't the first time he's had to start over though. After losing his wife he threw himself into his work. If he loses that what will have?? When Sutton Capital steps in with an offer he can't refuse it's not only his business that is saved.

Don't miss this one, I highly recommend it.

What I really love about this authors work is how she draws the reader in with her suspense that is full of mystery along with a touching romance. It is a series and a standalone you do not need to read the other books in this series it would give you a more in-depth understanding. The author does write this in a way that you do not feel lost and you know just what is happening.

Warrick is an easy to like character he is down to earth. His life hasn’t been easy of late with the deaths even though he was cleared the fall out is still falling around him. He isn’t sure whether he wants to start over until something happens that gives him just what he needs to pull his self together and fight for his company. He decides to give it all as he has bring Sutton Group as a shareholder aboard giving it one last dish effect to put his company back in the black in hopes of keeping his employees in a job which brings Sara into his life.

Sara doesn’t really like Warrick and doesn’t want to but as they work together she see a different person then she thought he was. As she works toward turning his company around she finds he is easy to work with and follows her ideas. They work well together and find they each have an attraction for the other. Warrick has baggage that is never far from his mind, he feels like a failure thinking he could have done something to stop the outcome. Sarah has baggage as well of a different kind nothing is worse than having the one you love not love you back enough when times get hard they should stand by you. Both are not ready for a new relationship. It does seem life is about to get in their way putting them in danger with a madman who is delusional seeing things as he sees them takes matters into his own hand keeping them beside each other to ride the wave trying to stay one step ahead of those that are out to see them dead.

I loved the action, thrills, twists and turns, the buildup of their relationship was nice and steady along with the excitement that keeps you flipping pages racing to the next few pages to see just what will happen. You are holding your breath waiting to see if these two will make it out a live and if this crazy nut will win or be taken down before anyone else ends up dead. I really liked how this author writes this story putting some serious issues before our eyes making us step back and wonder how we would have dealt with some of these issues if we were in their shoes. I love the romance and how it was executed. My heart went out to both Warrick and Sarah for all they had to deal with in their past which makes it really tough to think about a future. I found it really easy to relate to them as their story unfolds you can’t help but be pulled in. The supporting characters really gave a lot to this story some in a good way and some not so much. There will be ones you like and ones you won’t but this is what you are supposed to do. It was really interesting how this story all came together as the author spins a tale of heartbreak, madness, starting over, finding yourself and truly fighting for what is important why trying to stay alive. This was just an enjoyable read from start to finish.

A business pairing turns into more…

This is the tenth book in the Sutton Capital series that can be read as a stand-alone, some of the events referred to occurred in the previous books.

Losing everything that means anything to him is a familiar feeling to CEO Warrick Staunton, who is now on the verge of losing his family’s company because of the vengeful actions of a madman, unless he can turn things around with the help of Sutton Capital. But an influx of funding won’t untarnish the smeared reputation of a pharmaceuticals company even if the perception by the public is unjust. Jack Sutton has a plan that could help the company earn needed goodwill and also help those in need.

Sara Blackburn is an analyst for Sutton Capital and former military. She lost her hand while in the service and lives with a prosthetic. Necessity being the mother of invention she’s designed numerous prosthetic improvements to make life easier for herself and those like her that she wants to share with the world, limiting profits so those in need can obtain the devices. Finding the right company to partner with has been difficult, companies want and need to make money. Her boss sees the benefits of pairing Sara’s ideas with the pharmaceutical company but she doesn’t like saving a CEO from ruin, she like many others found it hard to believe that he had no idea what was going on at his company.

Forming an opinion before meeting someone can lead to contradictions when the person is not what you expected them to be, Sara is torn between the reality of the man Warrick is, what she heard and feelings she did not expect to have for him. Having been dumped by her fiancé after losing her hand she’s untrusting of relationships and suffers a lack of confidence as a woman. Warrick, who lost his wife tragically with much guilt over his own actions at the time, is emotionally unavailable yet he’s very much drawn to Sara. Can these two troubled souls make a lasting connection? And the missing madman is not through with Warrick yet. Will these two survive another attempt at vengeance?

This book is a good addition to the series continuing the suspense plot from the last two books and bringing it to a satisfying conclusion. This reader though did not connect with the protagonists. I was told and heard their struggles but I can’t say that I felt them or the chemistry between them.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

CUT TO THE CHASE by Lori Ryan is the 10th book in the
Sutton Capital Series. She has done it again with another great story.
It has lots of romance, mystery & intrigue.
I could not put the book down till I finished.
I loved the main characters Sara & Warrick. Warrick, who has been in a few of the past books, has his own story this time.
Warrick lost his wife 3 years ago. He still feels quilty over her death.
He also a crazy father-in-law out for revenge.
Warrick is trying to rebuild his life & business. With the help of
Sutton Capital group, he is able to.
Sara, who works for Sutton Capital, will consult for
Staunton Pharmaceutical, to help rebuild it reputation.
Sara had served in the military, till she was injured in action.
She has a big heart, always looking out to help people.
Warrick, has had a hard time moving forward because of quilt, and feels he doesn't deserve to be loved.
Sara, feels unlovable because of her injury, after being dumped in the hospital by her boyfriend.
When they first meet, Warrick & Sara notice the attraction between them. They start to spend time together working & in the evenings.
Overtime their feelings grew.
Can these two lost souls let each other in & maybe have a future together?
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!

Good ending to the Sutton Capital series, that kind of leaves you wanting more. The arc of the veteran killings ends here, with the redemption of Warrick Staunton and the end of the killer.

There is a redemption story here, too. Warrick doesn't trust himself to let anyone depend on him, because he thinks he has let everyone down his entire life. Sara, the veteran with a prosthetic and an idea, becomes Warrick's inspiration as well as his hope for the future. He falls for her but doesn't think he can offer her his broken soul.

Sara doesn't trust men, having been dealt a bad blow after her military service. Together they begin to heal. They have to face some danger first, though.

Ms. Ryan, do you think there's a wrapup story here?

Book 3 in Sutton Capital Intrigue Boxset.

Average, but still enjoyable romantic suspense to complete the trilogy.

Warwick is the CEO of Simms Pharmaceutical, the family business at the centre of a scandal previously covered in books 1&2. Through no fault of his own, the company is now in a PR nightmare, stock prices falling and consumer confidence at an all-time low.

Sutton Capital buys into Simms and Sara is seconded over to utilise Simms' equipment to develop and produce her design for a prosthetic hand (she is an ex-military amputee).

Warwick and Sara initially don't get on due to Sara's preconceived ideas about Big Pharma, but after working together they become friendly and mutual respect and attraction grows.

Both MCs have some emotional baggage to deal with, there is the ubiquitous third-act abduction and HEA.

This book contains descriptive love scenes.

Book 10 of Lori's Awesome Sutton Capital series, Cut to the Chase is really awesome. Another strong heroine! Warren Staunton has no plans for himself other that to make Simm's Pharmaceutical back to the status it had before the scandal that was killing the homeless in the area. Sara Blackburn has no interest in doing anything besides getting her state of the art prosthetic limb into the hands of those that need them for free.
A mad man however has other plans for both of them.
Find out how Sara get Warren to start his life again as well as making Simm's great in spite of the the mad man who wants him dead and she may become his collateral damage.
An awesome romantic suspense from the awesome Lori Ryan.

the culmination to all the suspense. at this point i’m more invested in the mystery rather than the romance. well, not all true. i AM interested in seeing how warrick and sara gets together especially since warrick is such a critical character in the whole story.

but still, the romance was forgettable. the whole series is, to be honest. the mystery was nice once you’re in the book and universe, but it goes away when you’re done.

but it wasn’t bad at all and i’d still say to read the book, especially if you want to get into romantic suspense books.

Warrick Staunton is weighed down by grief and guilt and now he's about to l9se his family's company. His saving grace may be Sara Blackburn's amazing prosthetic innovations. To say the Sara is not pleased by this development would be an understatement. What she can't deny is the powerful attraction she feels for Warrick. While he feels the same he's not willing to act on it. They're both caught in the crosshairs of a deranged man for very different reasons.

Lori Ryan never fails to deliver. I love the continuation of the story and characters and the multiple POV'S. This book did not disappoint. If you have not read anything from this author and you enjoy a little topsy turvy romance and suspense, pick up the first book of the Sutton Capital Series "Legal Ease" and keep reading.

With every book I am so glad I found this author and her books. She writes wonderful stories that grab us from page one to the last page. This is a wonderful addition to the series but can be read as a stand alone if you haven't read any of the others in the series yet.

I didn't even finish this one. Warrick was a wealthy businessman whose company had been rocked by a scandal. He was trying to get it back on track. That meant working with Sara. Sara worked for Sutton Capital and had once been in the military. She came home minus her left hand and now wore a prosthesis. Her boyfriend had walked away because he couldn't deal with her so called handicap.

The story was moving along at a nice place as was Warrick's relationship with Sara. They ended up in bed together but afterwards Sara sent him home, afraid if she got in too deep he'd leave her too. Warrick was upset by her actions but then started thinking about his wife and baby and how he'd been responsible for their deaths. He couldn't afford to get any further involved with Sara so he takes off without telling anyone but his secretary that he's going away for a few days.

Sara is devastated when she learns he's gone. She takes it as a sign that, like her former boyfriend, he can't handle the fact she's not whole. She spends the next few days in tears, her heart broken.

But lo and behold, Warrick has second thoughts and decides that while he can't give Sara his love he can give her all the sex she wants. Seriously? And even more astonishingly, as soon as he shows up on Sara's doorstep she takes him back without a word and accepts his excuses and his terms. It was right then and there I threw up my hands and called it quits. If I'd been reading the book form I would have thrown it across the room.

Talk about a couple of self absorbed, shallow people. At that point nothing they could have done or said could have redeemed the characters for me. Totally disappointing.

**4.5 Stars**

**Disclaimer: Though this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Cutthroat and Cut and Run prior to this book as it starts the storyline which then led to the circumstances Warrick currently finds himself in.**

Warrick is trying to salvage his family's company. Though it's been cleared of any wrong doing in the recent deaths, their image has still suffered. Warrick knows drastic times call for drastic measures, so he allows Jack Sutton of Sutton Capital to purchase a certain number of shares, therefore hopefully being able to save the business with Jack's assistance.

Sara, a medically discharged military veteran, loves her job with Sutton Capital. Her job usually consists of anything electronics related, but this project is different and she's not pleased as to who it's for. Though she's aware Warrick, and therefore his company, were not involved in the tragic deaths that recently impacted the local homeless shelter, but she is bothered by the knowledge of previous testing the company did which resulted in some loss of life.

As she and Warrick work together, she begins to get a clearer image of the man he truly is. He embraces her idea of how to renew the public's conception of the company which means the prostheses she's created that will allow better dexterity for amputees on their everyday life will be designed on a higher scale, allowing those in need to receive them at a much lower cost.

Both are attracted to one another, but are equally cautious as to beginning a relationship. For Warrick, he's still haunted by the death of his wife, Vicki, a few years ago, believing he failed to see how desperately she needed help. As for Sara, since her fiancé walked away from her shortly after the loss of her hand, she's sworn off love, expecting to be disappointed again and again.

The two slowly build a friendship, agreeing to help each other with certain goals, and even though both vowed to themselves to remain at a safe distance, neither could resist the love they were meant to share. However, someone believes Warrick doesn't deserve happiness, that he should pay for what happened to his wife, and that someone is also under the delusion that Sara is Vicki and the cycle of their relationship has started all over again, and they refuse to allow it to end the same as before. This time they want Warrick to be the one that dies.

Will Warrick and Sara find a way to let of of their pasts and admit they want a future together? Will Warrick understand he wasn't to blame for his wife's actions? Can Sara accept that Warrick will never leave her nor treat her differently due to her prosthetic? What happens when Warrick and Sara are in danger? Will they be rescued in time? Is there a HEA for these two?

One-click now and follow along as two people, both carrying emotional scars from the past, begin the journey toward a love that will heal their hearts.

Cut to the Chase by Lori Ryan is a mesmerizing romantic suspense/mystery that I easily fell into. The plot of a madman to ruin Warrick Sutton is a continuing thread from the previous two books in this series (Cutthroat and Cut and Run) that I would recommend reading first to have a good understanding).

Warrick's family pharmaceutical company is close to being in ruin after what has been done. He is hurt, shocked and unsure of his future, but he is determined to save the company and the jobs of all the employees. When he brings in Sutton Group as a shareholder in the company, he has some hope that they can help turn the negativity surrounding his company around. Whether or not his company was involved in what brought things to this point is no longer relevant because it's all in the perception of others. Sara is one of those others who doesn't like the company and doesn't want to like Warrick, but she is part of Sutton Group and helping turn things around might not only benefit Warrick's company, but also a project she is trying to bring to life.

Sara and Warrick both have heaviness from the past on their shoulders, and any kind of romantic relationship is not something either of them is looking for. But despite the scars they both bear and the weight of the present, an attraction between them can't be denied. I liked the connection I could feel between these two main characters. I liked how they are together. The pace of their relationship growth is slow and cautious and this really works with this plot. Lori Ryan wrote these two characters very well. As their characters grew and developed through Cut to the Chase I felt like I really got to know them and liked them. I could feel for both of them and understand where they were coming from.

As things slowly come together for them in many ways, the madness of his former father in law escalates with grim determination. The POV's from this man's mind were a very fascinating part of the story, and knowing his thoughts and what he wanted to do put a very edgy spin on Cut to the Chase. He is dangerous and unstable, and if he has his way there will be no future for Warrick and Sara.

Cut to the Chase was good! It is interesting knowing the 'who', but still having that feeling of suspense and mystery of what will happen. Lori Ryan managed to surprise me a few times! I liked the main characters because they are mature, there are no relationship games but there is drama and ups and downs to get through. I liked the carry over and introduction of new characters also, they all help give a lot of depth to the plot and make it real.

Cut to the Chase is well paced and suspenseful with hope woven in. I'd recommend Cut to the Chase to any romantic suspense reader

This is such a wonderful book that I took my time with it as I didn't want it to end. The only bad part about that is my review is late. I have never read a book quite like this one. Sure, I have read books with prosthetics in them, but not when it was a hand and not when the hero's company is going to start manufacturing them. It really held my attention, even though this isn't even the main plot of the story. Warrick Staunton owns Simms Pharmaceutical and he is losing money and going under fast until he allows Sutton Capital to buy into his company. Sara Blackburn works with Sutton, handling anything to do with electronics and electromagnetic. Sara had been in the military and had lost a hand while overseas. She was working on perfecting the bionic hand. The author had to have done a lot of research into this in order for it to all seem so real. Kudos to her! Oh yeah, the main plot. That part of the story seems to be continued from a previous book that I hadn't read. However, this story seems to have been written so that you don't have to have read the previous book, as I haven't read it I and don't feel like I have missed anything.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Another great Sutton Capital book! Lori Ryan has created a series where every book is as intriguing as the last. This series has romance, suspense & danger. The characters are present in their book but they pop up in other books from time to time so the reader is constantly getting updates on their lives.

Warren is the head of the family business but after a scandal is close to losing it. His wife has been dead for several years & her death caused her father to go crazy & blame Warren. He's been engineering a plot designed to put Warren in jail but it backfired.

Sara is ex-military & is disabled. A land mine has taken her hand. She now works at Sutton Capital but in her spare time is designing a robotic hand more useful & inexpensive than anything on the market. She can't find a manufacturer that will agree to her terms to make them.

Warren & Sara are working together to save Warrens company even though Sara doesn't really want to help him. They don't realize his ex-father-in-law is still around waiting to take another shot. Will this mad man win?

Lori Ryan manages to balance out the right amounts of suspense, romance & danger to get her readers involved & keep them involved. The plot twists & turns with surprises along the way & keeps you enthralled. I wasn't able to put it down until I had finished it.

Cut to the Chase another 5 star read.

Lori Ryan has a knack for writing an enticing and entertaining story. Her Sutton Capital series has always been one of my favorites. Her characters are well written and likeable. Her story lines are simple and straight forward and not a complicated read. The strength of her writing comes from her belief in a HEA ending for her characters. Warrick and Sara are just such a couple and their story while a little complicated because of mystery of why Warrick's father in law is trying to destroy him it does not detract from the simple love story that Ryan is telling.

She writes with precision and descriptive prose so that you like her characters and you believe in them . This makes her books enjoyable to read. I read this in one sitting and totally enjoyed it. As always Lori Ryan has written a story that everyone should enjoy.

This story is connected to the Sutton Series and is much better if you read Cutthroad and Cut and Run first.

Cut To The Chase has a great plot, the characters are well developed and there is plenty of suspense to keep you biting your nails as you read. This author is great at writing romance with a bit of a “bad guy” element thrown in for good measure. She has a way of writing such romantic scenes with the H&H that either has me crying happy tears or at least smiling from ear to ear. I do love a HEA. This book tied up the “who dunnit” quite well. We find out how everything comes together and love seeing the H&H find each other after both being so broken and finding their healing. Ms. Ryan has such a talent for writing the H&H as being well balanced which is very important to me in a story. Thoroughly enjoyed this story and as always love to find out what the previous characters from the Sutton Series are up to.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Lori Ryan books always teach me something. In Cut to the Chase, I learned about prosthetics. I also learned a bit about life. This is the 10th book in the Sutton Capital Series, and it is definitely worth the read. Warrick Staunton is down on himself, even though he didn’t do anything wrong. He’s trying to save his family’s company after a mad man murdered homeless vets with experimental drugs from the company. Even his own mom thinks he’s a loser. Sara is a military vet working to perfect a prosthetic hand. She doesn’t want to be beholden to anyone. Together, Warrick and Sara learn to trust and believe, and work to catch a killer.

Caught Up in the Chase

I received this book as an arc to read and give an honest review.
This story was part of the Sutton Capital series, and true to her word, Ms. Ryan , made this story exciting, interesting and it flowed effortlessly.I read it in 1 sitting.
Warrick and Sara, 2 tortured souls, who found each other, they were hesitant, and accepting of each other's broken hearts. It also had a little more of the Sutton Capital family. Jack, Kelly,Andrew,Jill,Sara's friend Sam. Jarrod was back continuing the investigation.
You won't be disappointed. It's a well written story, and I truly hope these Sutton Capital stories don't end. There is always, one more story to tell.
Thank you Ms. Ryan
