I had to read this book cover to cover for my seminary class. I truly think it is an excellent introduction to Pentateuch. The author Gordon Wenham is one of the finest evangelical Old Testament scholar. This book helped me a lot to be familiar with the themes in the pentateuch and also how each book is organized. The book does not shy away from difficult issues found in the text and also addresses critical scholarship issues such as the 'documentary hypothesis'. However, they are all written in a way that is concise and accessible for most readers.
