Haven is the third, and final, installment in the Head Case rock novel series. Through love, loss and friendship, members of the band Pages have experienced it all. And they’ve experienced it all together. Love them or hate them, Regi, Mickey, Jesse and Murphy face their toughest challenges yet in this finale - a paternity shocker, a long lost parent, the protection of an abused child, and a reunion in shambles before it even begins. Come along on their final adventure and enjoy the ride!

Like Facebook and other social media sites today that allow us to reconnect with people from our past, in Haven, Kathleen Stone bridges the gap and brings Regi, Mickey and Jesse right back to us once again. The whole wild saga that began years ago in a quintessential whirlwind of sex, drugs, and rock and roll has now evolved with children and real-life situations that all Stone’s readers can relate to, but they’re all just fibers in the great membrane which holds them all together — the band. Kathleen Stone’s tone and flow is a relaxed personal one — reading her words is like sitting across the table from a good friend at a cafe as she fills you in on everything that’s been happening since your last meeting. Whether you’re a musician, a music enthusiast, or simply a fan of literature, the characters in Stone’s rock and roll chronicles become friends, and being able to catch up with them once again is an experience that runs the gamut of emotion, but overall, provides an abundance of comfort that only other really good things in life can. The last book of a trilogy. It was a good ending to the trilogy. An up and down ride in the life of Regi Sebastian, her children, loves, and her former band the Pages.

Eventho the book focused on Regi, the other main characters were developed well and grew. There were many ups and downs, and hurt feelings. But, they are there for each other when they need to be. There were new characters added that added to the twists in the book.

The book kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. There were many twists in the book. I didn't know what to expect, but enjoyed the ride. I liked how Regi seemed to grow as a person and became a strong woman that accomplished many things besides being a musician. The world could benefit to have a real life Regi. We can all use friends that will be there when we truly need them, even when we don't see eye to eye. That is what the main characters do.

Reggie screws up everyone's life, again

Those of you who have read "Headcase" won't be surprised by that headline. I found this story hard to get into because I find Reggie and her band mates hard to like. I mean, sure, love stories are meant to have some tension in them but at times Reggie seems to go out of her way to mess up her own life and that of everyone around her.

How does she mess everyone's life up this time? You'll have to read the story to find that out. Will it be worth your time to do so? Only you can answer that. As for me, I found some good things in the story, enough to persuade me to finish it.

Haven was my favorite book of the series. Regi, Mickey, Jesse, and Murphy, 4 best friends and hopefully and reunion. Who would Regi end up with Mickey or Jesse? Would Murphy ever get over the hate he felt for Regi and Jesse relationship? Would Mickey interfere with the new budding relationship? Would Regi and Jesse being a couple ruin the hopes of a reunion? Well by the head of the book everything is answered. So much happens from start to finish I never wanted to put the book down.

Will They? Won't They? Should They?

To fully appreciate this story, start at the beginning of the trilogy. This multi-layer plot keeps you glued to the page. And you will have love/hate relationships with the characters, which is a testament to how Stone develops them in a way that you cheer and jeer from chapter to chapter. I love Jesse in one chapter and then I am ok if a bus accidentally hits him in the next. Isn't that amazing that an author can make me feel that way?
