2.5 stars, rounded up. I agree with other reviews that static images are not easily understood for something like ASL. Luckily, the book provides a solution by making videos available.

What I really read this book for was the context behind ASL, like how the sentence order differs from English, different grammar rules, stuff like that. That information was really valuable, but most of the book is taken up with hard-to-decipher signs.

I love this book. It got me started with ASL and signing. I can now sign pretty well (with a little help from the ASL App). Thanks!

It is definitely a helpful book. Sometimes the drawings make it confusing, the reader may be best served to look into someone teaching it on youtube.
