Most of the book's tips and tricks for building and growing the author's social network are nothing new, and her way of categorizing people into different classes based on her goals and agendas borders on controversial, if not outright self-serving. While she does urge readers to take a long-term view on building relationships, her methods have a strong self-centric motivation in the background--a critical conflict she offered no explanation in the book.
