3.5 Stars Just an OK read for me

I graciously received an ARC copy of this book from the author and was excited to get to it! First, I have come to enjoy Author Alexis Abbott's books as they are fast paced, full of action, a whole lot of sexiness and for me, I find them filled with insta-love and insta-lust done right. Although fairly quick reads, her books tend to pack all of the elements in one sexy read and I have enjoyed them all to date.

Now, with that being said, this book was not one of my favorites. I am not sure why BUT I did feel like I got too much of everything else besides my H and h if that makes sense. I didn't feel as though I had much together time with them, therefore, making it difficult to relate to them and their connection. I did feel something just not what I usually do and because of this, it was just an ok read this time around.

Not every book from an author can be a smashing hit and that's ok, it's normal. Sometimes there are small speed bumps on the road and this book for me was one of them. Will I continue on with her books, heck yes! Just because this book didn't quite make an impact on me doesn't mean someone else won't feel differently and love it:) The beauty of reading and writing reviews are to express your own individual feelings as to how a story made you feel.

This was a super enjoyable read. I'm really loving mob romances this year and this just hit the spot. The romance was sweet and I was really rooting for the hero and heroine.

Personally, I loved this book. Rosie's dad is a gambling alcoholic and she is basically raising her twin sisters by herself since her mothers untimely death. Konstantin is brought over to run this area of the mafia. Konstantin and Rosie are forced together at gunpoint..I know, I know not very romantic, hence the dark romance. Anyway, since Alexis really writes great alpha males and Konstantin is no exception, this scene in the book turns out to be a hell of a lot better than it could have been. Konstantin is so sweet, thoughtful and supportive during the entire book. I adore him. And of course Alexis was so thoughtful to grace us with one of my all time favorite mafia men...Andrei (already called dibs on him), which I loved and thank her for that. This story is so damn good with Konstantin and Andrei working together to shut down the slave trade business and saving many young girls...seriously, swoon. Gosh I love these two, they are like a dream double duo of hot ass alpha men. Anyway, I digress.

Rosie is pretty tough and kick ass herself, which is one of the reasons she is perfect for my Konstantin....see what I did there....dibs, I am selfish that way:). Loved this book, great writing and as always great characters. Already excited to read the next book in this series.

I absolutely love Alexis Abbott's books and I always know once I start reading them I will be thoroughly entertained and this one is definitely no exception.
I would recommend that you one click this book straight away and spend an evening with the wonderful Konstantin Alkaev and Rosie Barnes.
This story is a little bit dark in one occasion but it fits in perfectly with the story and gives the leads that bit more depth to them.
I absolutely loved Konstantin as he was a hitman but with a good moral code and he put himself on the line for what he believes in.
He is a man of many layers and once you start peeling back his defences you get to see a loving loyal man who will do anything for the people he cares about.
Rosie has had an extremely hard life for a young lady of 18 which has made her very resourceful,strong and a women who will fight to the bitter end for the people she loves.She is a force to be reckoned with.
This story has passion,trust,betrayal and heartbreak all rolled into one fantastic story you definitely won't want to put down.
This truly deserves more than the 5 star rating I have given it.

Such a horrendous start to their relationship. It takes a very strong person to move past how they initially met and find the good and even make an amazing future. Konstantin is such a gentle yet brutal man and I do believe he has become my favorite.

Konstantin is ex spetznaz and currently in prison. He has just made a deal with his new employer....the Bratva. Konstantin travels to New York to help with Bratva business. Nicknamed The Bull, Konstantin is a top assassin, a hitman. They are now asking more of him, something he may not want to give, but will accept for the greater good. He finds himself walking a very fine line. Konstantin knows he's being watched so he must comply or face the consequences. He's being promoted and this means more power to accomplish his plans. 
Rosie has no plans at the moment, but survival would be good. She's being offered as payment in full. Konstantin learns that Rosie now belongs to him. He is told he must break her, and with no other choice, he does as he is told to save them both.
He knows he needs to protect her now. The Bratva wants Konstantin to do their bidding, but he has other plans. 
This is a story with high stakes riding on the outcome. The Bratva has their hands in many illegal businesses that bring in millions of dollars. Can one man change a way of thinking that has been going on for years? Can one man save so many innocent victims? Can one man save the only woman he's ever cared about? Konstantin knows he can't walk away from Rosie. They can't not be together. Konstantin does need an ally though and he finds one in Andrei, a hitman as well. Andrei has cleansed the Bratva of its more seedy businesses in the past, and Konstantin needs his help and his loyalty now.
Konstantin is a man who offered his expertise to the Bratva and was rewarded handsomely. He may not share the same views, but at a time in his life, he needed them and they were there.
Rosie has no one but her younger siblings. Her father is basically a non existent parent and she has cared for them since their birth.
Rosie and Konstantin are two very mismatched people from opposite ends of the world thrown together hoping for a good outcome. Together, they are stronger. Together, they will not go down without a fight. 
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK !  ACTION PACKED STORYLINE WITH AWESOME CHARACTERS !   ALSO MY FAVORITE HITMAN, ANDREI FROM "SOLD TO THE HITMAN,"MAKES AN APPEARANCE ....LOVE HIM !  
Konstantin and Rosie had AMAZING chemistry; she helped him become less abrasive and more human. He helped her take back her life.  THE SEX WAS SMOKING HOT AND STEAMY ! ! !  I ADORE ALEXIS' HITMEN ! ! !

Rosie has grown up to soon. After raising her twin sisters since she was 8, on the day of her 18th birthday, she'll experience another life changing experience when her dad sells her off to the Russian mob to pay off his debt. When the man she's sold to turns out to be the new leader takes her home with him, her life is irrevocably changed forever.

Konstantin wasn't expecting to be tested so soon. But when a gun is aimed at you, he follows through with what's expected of him. What he never expected was to take a gorgeous girl home with him and a war to start so soon. But she was a game changer in his personal and business life.

I love Alexis hitman stories. They are always hot and tantalizing. The danger these characters are in from the get-go kept me glued to the pages. Even though the danger is high, the level of hot sex and care these hitman show the girls is intriguing. Konstantin and Rosie compliment each other well with her soft and underlying strength, and his hard and deadly aura. This was another great read from Alexis and I can't wait to read more from her.

This is the seventh book int he Bad boy Mafia Series and I have to say I have only read a handful of them but cannot wait to go back and devour them all like I did this one. I started this book and was immediately sucked into the story. Abbott knows how to you give you a story that is all consuming and filled with not only sexy alpha men, but secrets, change, Mafia, and one thing that is not common within the Mafia a man with a conscious. He may not seem like it but Konstantin has a heart of gold and is wanting to at least put a stop to the sex slavery that the other Mafia men think they have the right to contribute to.

Rosie is an 18 year old who has been raising her twin sister since she was 10. her father is a low life who gables and drinks not having a care in the world about his children after their mother died. On her 18th birthday Rosie is sold to Konstantine to pay off her fathers debts.

But what happens after all of that will have you rethinking everything you have ever read in a Mafia book.

I seriously could not get enough of this storyline and these characters. Cant wait to see where Abbott takes it from here. :)

I loved this couple. He is a hitman working for the Bratva, the Russian mafia, made of prison violence, military training, and now taking over business in Brighton Beach at the USA. She is the daughter of an abusive father and takes care of her two little sisters.

It was both appalling and exciting the way they meet. Extortion, human trafficking and murderous enemies push them into sharing their lives in the most unexpected of ways. I really liked Konstantin's mix of brute strength, ruthless vengeance, and tender lust for Rosie.

This is not a dark romance per se, it's got to do with very dark issues such as crime and human slavery, but the relationship between the characters is beautiful and sweet, very steamy too. If you like your heroes to stem from the wrong side of life, this Bull of a man will be right up your alley.

He's strong and forceful, but he fights against real evil. There are several action scenes, well developed strategy to combat the crime rings in the city, and a powerful message for women to overcome tragedy and be independent.

It's a very entertaining story, well narrated and with double POV.

Alexis Abbott has written a series of standalone Hitman novels. They are all similar but different enough to be worth reading.

Rosie is the perfect damsel in distress. She comes from a broken home that is beyond repair. A poor up bringing is an understatement. On her birthday her dad uses her as leverage to clear his debts.

Konstantin is gifted Rosie to prove his loyalty. It's inhuman and given at gun point. Konstantin wants to set things right. He wants to set the innocent free and mend what is wrong with the scenario he finds himself in. He sees Rosie for what she is and cant help but fall for her.

This one reminds me of Robin Hood; take from the bad and give to the good.

This story is about a dark subject. When we first meet Konstantin, we meet a killer. this is his intro into the Bratva. Years later he is "promoted" and sent to America to take over as pakhan in NJ. He is forced to be with Rosie at gunpoint. She has been sold by her father to pay off debts. The story moves pretty fast but Rosie and Konstantin do not fall into bed with each other immediately. He actually romances her. He is a stone killer and mafia boss, but he is also very sweet and a good guy. He kills people that have profited off the hurt or death of innocents. The story is predicatable but I think it is my favorite of the hitman series that I have read.

Taken by the Hitman is the latest book from the Hitman series.
Alexis Abbott takes the readers back to the gloomy abysses of the Russian mafia.
Konstantin Alkaev is the new head of the local Bratva branch in Brighton Beach, a loyal, hard, but fair-minded man, who stands for his convictions and also knows how to enforce them.
Rosie Barnes is a young woman who is stricken by life. She is abused by her father, but still loyal to her family.
Both are brought and welded together by external and invidious circumstances.
This book is very hard to get out of hand once you start reading it. It's thrilling, exciting and very, very emotionally written and an absolute must-read!

A dark mafia hitman book with rays of light within a world of violence and human trafficking.

One ordered hit while in prison is the beginning of a well written, sit on the edge of your seat) suspenseful and romantic (yes...romantic) story. A change that brings love to two people who are thrown together by some rather disturbing circumstances. Yet with how their relationship began....these two souls have the perfect ending.

I really enjoyed the author's writing style, the perfect pace that keeps you reading even when your eyes and body needs a break. I can't get enough from this author and her sexy and bad boy mafia men.

Another great mafia story! Loved Konstantin's devotion to doing what's right and Rosie really makes him a better person. He still does what he has to do to change things but Rosie is okay with that as she has had a hard time of it too. Together, they turn the dark to something wonderful.

It start out with our hero in Russian prison. Which is completely different than excepted. I thought it moved fast in the story I would of like a little detail on how Rosie and Konstantin went threw as the months moved on. Instead of it being months along into the book.

I read this whole series one by one and I would rate this whole book series.

My rating for whole book series is 3.5 stars.

This book starts good but lost me in the mid and that I think made me to give this one, series starters a 3.5 stars. Characters are good, but they are not great though there were ample plot to expand them through. There are few problems in the characters that are little confusing. I liked the plot, with Mafia in it. That I think may be the nice click to this. The flow and the pace of the story is good and I liked the way the scenes are written. I would say a nice one to read.

Little disappointed in comparison to the first one. Though it has something nice to read. I like the story and the characters but the one character is too much powerful that it took the other character completely and that's what I think little low for me. That's why I'm rating this book as 3.5 stars. The story and the plot can be more better, all around. I really liked the pace of the story with lot of love in it and that's I think that's the best thing about this book.

I liked this one because there is a mystery in it and there was something about the characters that made me connect with the story. There is a strong characters in the book and that made it fun to read, though I would have loved little more thrill in the book. I would like to rate this book as 4 stars. The plot is well written and the scenes are good. I like the dialogues. There is a ring to this book which is lovely.

This whole book series is like written around Mafia, and that's I think the good part about the series. You will like it and there is a reason why this book series is actually named as Hitman. The whole book series is thrill to read, though there are more to it but also there are some low points to the series in the books.

But on n all I would say this book series, I enjoyed to read this whole book series.

I LOVE Alexis Abbott books and this latest one Taken by the Hitman was no exception if anything it made me LOVE her books MORE!!! This book is Konstantin and Rosie's story he's in the Bratva and she's from an abusive home. Rosie has just graduated high school a few months ago but she's still at home raising her younger sisters since she's been raising them since they were born. Konstantin has only just left Russia for America to take over territory in Brighton Beach for the Bratva. On Rosie's birthday her father tells her he's taking her out and that it's a surprise but that her 8 year old twin sisters will have to stay home. Konstantin and Rosie are about to come face to face in the most stressful dangerous way. Will they ever be able to overcome their first meeting? Will Konstantin ever be able to figure out who he can trust? Will Rosie be able to save herself as well as her sisters? You really MUST READ this book to find out what happens!! I was given an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

OMG!! I love this freaking series. They just keep getting better every book. I can't say how much I loved this book. There were so many surprises and intrigue in it that I was hooked from the first chapter. There were parts that I just loved and of course there were parts where I was yelling to them but overall it was a perfect read for me. It is a mafia series but with lots of twists. It really is a good one. I've been a fan from the beginning and can't wait for the next one. Please keep them coming. Bad Boy Good

This is a story of a man who always meant to do good, but it was a bad walk in life that he had to take. Konstantin was born in Russia and never had a good life. He made a good life and when he learned of some men in a sex trade he knew he had to end it.
Rosie had a good life until her mom died giving birth to her twin sisters and she had to grow up quickly and become a mom to them. Her dad was still there but he was in no way a dad to any of them. Rosie did what she had to do to take care of her baby sisters.....until her dad sold her to pay off his gambling debts.

Wow the 7th book and as always Taken The Hitman is another good read. 18 year old Roise she has been traded my her father to the Russian mob, to pay off her fathers debt, he's a gambler and a alcoholic.. Konstantin isn't in the mood for a party on the yacht.

When Konstantin sees Roise he new that he was meant to be to be the new mafia leader in the Brighton Beach. Sparks fly between this two. So much goes on that you don't want to put this gem of a book down. 5 star read for me.

I received this book in advance for an honest review. I love Alexis Abbott hitman books. There's something about rough Russian bad boys and the broken yet strong women they meet. Konstantin is a Russian hitman who is brought to Brighton Beach to be a boss. Forced to prove himself by taking Rosie's virginity in front of other men. He doesn't want to do it but there's a gun to his head. Together they form a bond and a mission to take down the sex slave trade in the Bratva. Heartbreak, love, revenge, danger and mafia hits. Good read!

This is the 7th book in the Hitman series. The characters have a way to draw you into their problems and what they truly want. They both have a responsible and things in life have made away to get wrench into things. Konstantin has never wanted to stop something so bad as the view that the women are slaves. When Rosie is given to Konstantin at gun point he has not choice but to accept. They are off on a journey of many up and downs. The action in this story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Recommend this book

I think this one has to be my favourite!

We start off with Rosie waking up on her 18th birthday by her twin 8 year old sisters.
They've all had a pretty hard life and their dad is to blame!
I felt sorry for Rosie because she had to grow up well before her time and look after her sisters.

Konstantin was a very lovable character, he's harsh but fair but when it comes to Rosie, he's soft as sh*t.
He's a really easy character to like and the storyline is one that really hooks you.

I can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Interesting, fast paced read. Contains violence and some sexual content though the later isn't to explicit. There is some abuse content as well which is all a part of the main story. It is a hard subject matter and I actually felt sorry for both characters, neither had had an easy life so I felt that despite how they meet they were quite suited to each other in many ways. Well written and nothing to over the top as regards the violence or the sex, and enjoyable read.

This is yet another heart-pounding, emotionally involved book by Alexis Abbott! Each book has been amazingly and consistently awesome. Konstantin was forced to take Rosie, but he knew he wanted her and his protective instincts kicked in. Some great action scenes and definitely heart-tripping moments, as well as sizzling sexy moments! And finishing with an awesome HEA! Phew!
