Thorn eared back the hammer on his Winchester.

Today they would pay.

Then she stepped into view and everything changed.

Beautiful and good, what could she be doing with these two?

As her story unfolded, he knew that once she learned of their shared past, she would despise him. Until that day, he would use all of his considerable fighting skills and risk everything he owned to keep her safe.

He owed her.

War Wounds is the first book in Wyatt Cochrane’s, Marshall Family classic western series. If you like stories of strong men and women struggling together to conquer evil men and survive the blasts of Mother Nature, you’ll love this fast-paced action adventure series set in the old west.

Good Western

As in most western stories you have good guys a woman in distress and a dream.
This book doesn't let you down. All of the elements for a good story are here and this is just the beginning for this man.
A great way to relax while we are staying home or when we can get on with our lives.

Interesting book

I did enjoy this book a lot. Thorn is a tough stubborn young man with a huge guilt trip he carries with him. But he is just the kind of man the west needed in those days.

The book is good, the story was different but very interesting. I look forward to the rest of the series.
Thank you

A WC. Western Novel/The Trail From Texas to Montana

WC. has. penned a western novel about a cattle drive from Texas to Montana. The drive starts with no problems until his trail riders get drunk and end up in jail. The future rancher pushes his small herd by himself. He braved the weather, locusts, Indians and Whiskey Runners. He finds the woman with the whiskey runners on the way north. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Determination

It takes great determination to take a heard on your own. Meeting people does not make it easier. Determination is what settled the west.

A strong ping cowboy overcomes the odds

Interesting and different story. At least the civil war is over. I hate war! What a waste of life. Fate can come straight at you or in a round-about way. I hope to read about Thorn Marshall and Elly—as well as the little Hereford herd. Never thought I would read a story with a porcupine as the hero.

Over the hill and far away

Having read several of Cochrane's books, none have disappointed me. I can feel the old west reaching out to my pioneer like soul. Guns shooting, criminals plotting, the good cowboy, and the damsel in distress, you get it all, and crave more.

Great story about old emotional wounds

Can't wait for more. Highly recommended for all readers. What happens to you as a child does not define you.

Good story. Pretty graphic descriptions of killing. Glad Arin and Rufus joined Thorn. Will read next book. Am interested to find out if Thorn succeeds in Montana.

An exciting tale

War is an awful thing and those who take advantage of war to do even more evil are worse.
But good survives somehow.

Great story

Excellent story of how our past can catch up with us but it does not have to effect our future. We can change and accept the goodness.

Short

The story could be a little longer without changing the main theme. Although the story line is good enough that want to read the next book.
