The visual strength of John Bernhard's work has never been more articulated than in "Drift". He finds new strength from his early series like his thought provoking diptychs where he already brought photographs together to enhance the images' interaction and meaning. John Bernhard is choosing and organizing his photos in such a fashion that it resembles a constatly digressing speech, apparently without a thread. In the end it triggers a unique state of mind, a cascade of association of thoughts which usually occurs in daydreaming.
