This is an incredible book which makes you realize what the men on the front lines were doing. Too often books are bogged down with strategy or about the leaders. This was about one man on the front lines as a medic and he gets personal.

One of the best non-fiction accounts of WW2. Keith Winston's letters are simple, but provide an in depth look into what life was like for a soldier.

If you are not a fan of violence or war scenes, this book is perfect. Clearly Keith faced awful moments and yet, he doesn't go into details to worry his family.

If you have a chance to pick up this book, do it!!!!
