Who knows what arcane horrors the proposed A303 bypass tunnel under stonehenge could unleash?

Recently I’ve been trying to fear our hedgerows and worms. I think it’s only fair.

Like BDSM, our fear and aggression should act in service of love - christians love jesus and hate the devil but druids give the moon any and all cathexis they can muster

In a real sense, the A303 expansion is climate destruction, which is unsurprising because all consequences of our choices push us in the direction of ancient wisdom, from personal to political, like using phones, wearing shoes or waging war

On a side note, what are these self-appointed custodians of englishness (internet racists) actually defending? Actual English traditions like morris dancing, wassail, paganism, are currently upheld exclusively by queers and the neurodivergent - those same people whose postmodern judeobolshevist agenda is supposedly intent on destroying the west?

A charming little guide to Avebury, perfect to take with you on your trip to explore this ancient site. Its pocket size is very convenient, the edition is beautiful and it comes with lots of illustrations and references. However, the information is highly basic so I wouldn’t recommend it if you wanted to get into more detail.

Great little read. The pocket sized Wooden Books are wonderful little gems to collect while traveling in England. Packed full of quick, easy to digest information. The woodcut illustrations are also very easy on the eyes. I look forward to collecting more when I travel again. I have enjoyed all that I have acquired.

Attractive little book (and yes, this is why I bought it), but the claims it makes seem to be based more in wishful thinking than in concrete fact. Did the Neolithic British really know about Egypt, the curvature of the earth, and ley-lines? Actually, I think that the concrete archaeological details are more exciting than even these fantastic claims.

New age mumbo-jumbo nonsense.

In case you like new age stuff the book itself is badly written. It's a set of very short individual chapters that do not follow coherently on from each other. A number of the chapters are not clear.

The pictures are quite nice from books from 1743-1872. However they are quite small and unlabelled so you don't know which source each book comes from.

Lovely little book of wonderful physical quality. The book contains mainly (with a few exceptions) historical illustrations. Each drawing is includes a brief lesson about some geologic or mystic aspect of the site.

Lovely little book which gives a flavour of the monument and its history together with some very nice reproductions of Stukeley's drawings.
