For the first time, the UK's number one TV psychic shares some of his most personal stories and terrifying encounters with the spirit world, and what it's really like to be 'possessed'. The star of LIVINGtv's 'Most Haunted' and 'Ghost Towns' goes on a new journey that will chill you to the bone. Derek takes us with him into the darkest places of the spirit world where he confronts people taken over by demonic entities, the spirits of ancient Egyptians whose malevolent presence reaches beyond the tomb, those evil ghosts with unfinished business who are terrorising the living, and the dead who are determined to come back from the other side, and take Derek with them if they can... If you thought you'd already seen Derek's most terrifying battles with the dark side - think again.
Derek Acorah was a professional Spirit Medium. He captivated audiences by communicating with dead people with the aid of his Ethiopian spirit guide, Sam. He was one of Britain's most respected paranormal investigators.
I have always been interested in the paranormal and was excited to start this book, but I thought it was a bit of a let down I felt like he crammed too many stories into one book which made it feel rushed .
An easy read. Whilst I appreciate that not everyone believes in an afterlife, I do - why do some of us feel like a square peg in a round hole? I believe it's because we have chosen to come here for a purpose and to learn, we may not fit in because we are here to teach or just be a companion to a new soul who wants the support of an older soul. I have no answers on this plane. The stories in this book shows that there is more that we currently understand and we shouldn't mess with spirit from here.
I chose this book because I love to read about the spirit world. These books usually open the spirit world up more for me. I recommend this one to those that have an interest
Haunted Scariest stories from the UK's no. 1 psychic
Derek Acorah's respect for the spirit world shines through in these stories of people desperately in need of help. He shows his compassionate side, in extending his mediumistic skill while weaving various ever engaging and enjoyable tales that leaves the paranormal enthusiast wanting more.
I quite liked this book. It has some amazing stories, but these don't really qualify as the 'scariest stories' Derek must have to tell as promised on the cover. The stories are good, yes, but not too exciting. Liked the book, though, and Derek seems to be a very approachable and friendly guy.
I do love a good real ghost story and Derek did not let me down. The book completely sucked me in and I read it in one evening. Will definitely be sourcing more of his books to read!
