If the Kingdom of God came to your neighborhood, you and your neighbors would know each other, tangibly love and care for each other, and band together to help each other. You could have that. A playbook for inviting the Kingdom of God into your neighborhood, Loving is packed with practical exercises for meeting, caring for, and fostering strong relationships with and among your neighbors. The first installment in the Flourish series of spiritual workbooks from Headwaters Christian Resources.
Please don’t judge this book by its cover or font or size. It is dense with uncomfortable truth about who actually is your neighbor (not hard to figure out!), what loving neighbors actually entails, and practical ways to build relationships with them. I love to imagine if many more Christians actually invited neighbors into their lives, not just merely invited them to church, how Christ’s kingdom would grow exponentially. Because that’s how it happens. So challenging. Can I make this a six-star rating?
Really helpful, and challenging book. Most of us in the US are terrible at loving our actual neighbors. But, the book doesn't just challenge you--it provides checklists and lots of practical ideas for connecting, and blessing, your neighbors.
