I saw this book by random and I really want my daughter to read this book when she is able to do so. This book is not limited to children or adult, it tells a little girl what we will encounter when trying to grow up. There are many expectations from many people around you. The day you grow up more, you will not be able to live up to everyone's expectations.

Usually, in East Asia, the more you become what other people want you to do, you get more rewards. They think you are a good girl, especially to your parents and their friends. From what I know, most East Asians are living under their expectations, pride, and self-esteem. More so, you are more prone to please people who have more power on you in terms of giving you a job, salary or self-esteem. More and more, you become the slave of pleasing people. I also recommend a book called "The Disease to Please: Curing the People-Pleasing Syndrome" by Harriet B. Braiker.

All in all, this is a book which is short but full of philosophical meaning. It is hard to overcome thousands of manipulated rewarding system that made you do what people want you do be or to do.. But by practicing it daily, we can get better and better.

I love this series, the books as well as the cartoon and I love Little princess's accent in the cartoon. The illustrations are beautiful, just because she is a princess she doesn't needs to be dolled up the whole time. She is as messy as a child can be.

pretty good. the illustrations has a pretty nice style, sometimes i think adults think that kids want the most strange and bizarre art styles but i think you can have cool tasteful art in kids books

The little princess decided that it’s time to grow up and seeks advice from friends and family on what to be. She later decides that there are so many things and realises she needs to make a decision herself. Although it’s a different choice she makes in comparison to the advice she’s received.
I personally believe there is no specific age for this book, as both adults and children can enjoy reading the story. The book is suitable for children in EYFS onwards. It can be cross curricular; firstly it is related to literacy (reading, comprehension). Children can use key words and describe what it means to be kind, caring etc. It broadens their vocabulary, and there is a chance for role play of characters. Furthermore it can be linked to PSHE. It should make children aware of how to treat one another. The illustrations are lovely, can be a great visual aid and they also add humour to the story.
