I am enjoying these books so much. I've always had the kind of imagination that allows tv, movie or book characters to be real people. The best books I've read have left me grieving once I was through reading them, because those people are no longer going to be part of my life. It's bittersweet to know these people so well and have to say "goodbye" at some point. This may sound silly to most but I've always been a loner and read a lot. This type of involvement as though these characters are real have only made me enjoy reading more, until their end and then I miss them. To me art should make you feel something and these stories draw me in so fully, I truley wish I was within the story myself.
At every page there's a turn on every ones life. From having a baby to getting a baby because one was left behind. There's a slow drag on some of the characters. The new love and down falls of the characters is in encouraging ,because it's what some of go through every day. Keeping their eyes on the One true God. I chose the rating because I though it dragged in some areas.. The young at heart and those who want to know what happens to the main characters.
I choose the rating because I thought it dragged in a few places. The young at heart will enjoy this book.
Good series with an interesting time period and characters.
I have enjoyed this series. The characters get under your skin in a good way and you want to follow their stories, in the ups and downs of 19th century life. I hate to criticize, but the books need better editing. I am not a grammar fanatic, but there are errors that interfere with my enjoyment. I found subject/verb agreement errors, incomplete sentences, misused pronouns and I wasn't looking. The books deserve better.
This series of Wildflowers is one of the most exciting and page turning books I have read in a very ling time. I would recommend this series to anyone who is struggling in life and trying to know who they are and what has to been done to regain your self respect and allowing GOD to help you in making those decisions. I couldn't wait to turn to the page on my tablet. I pray these books will touch someone else as it did mine. PRAISE GOD !!!!!!!
Lives of those living in close knit community outside Oregon City
This is an exciting and adventurous tale of the families that live outside Oregon City. It is written by Leah Banicki. She has done an amazing job with the plot and the characters. There is happiness, love, sadness and disappointment. They also have high hopes for their future and intent on leaving hard times and sorrow behind them. Looking forward to the next chapter.
It was so hard getting through this boring book. I dont thi k I'll read any more of the series. The endless boring mundane stuff is just so tiresome. There is just so many times one can hear about changing diapers, cooking, eating, washing clothes, etc. I also dont think the author knows the definition of smirk. Also how often can things be "grand"? I nice great, wonderful ,amazing, brilliant, etc, everyone once in awhile would be a relief!
I have already said this in my previous reviews for this Series, "I love these books!"
Thank you Leah Banicki for strong characters with wonderful stories that are based in "real-life" and show how passion can be written without being so sexually graphic.
I have read the first five books in this series and, obviously, am enjoying the storyline. Yet, as others have noted, the poor grammar is VERY distracting! GRAMMARLY is one of many free and very helpful writing tools which would enhance this author's writings easily, quickly, and tremendously!
I read #4 and jumped to #5 both books were so very good! I enjoyed the #4 since it was Angela story and #5 this one pulled everyone together and started new characters to keep it going. I'm looking forward to the next one that I already rack on my tablet ready to read. Leah please keep this wonderful series going and don't kill off Clive (any time soon)!!
Slava deserved a lot more than what he got which was nothing. Poor Galina. I feel so sorry for her and all of the children that receive such beatings. Corinne getting Caleb. This was such an amazing read. I didn't want to put this book down. Megan what can I say about someone so darn selfish
This was a good five book series, with the sixth being written even now. I enjoyed it very much. It was operational and thought provoking. I am looking forward to the next book.
I love reading this series! It is so easy to get into the characters minds and hearts. Ma’am you have the words of God’s heart written into every chapter. I have found myself able to pray more and understand its pleasure to Him. Thank you.
Some really hard things take place. Characters are hurt and damaged, but a loving and caring, godly community bands together to help heal and restore. It makes you wish for this sort of community in real life.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters were so real, and I felt anger, sympathy, and a host of emotions as I "experienced" cruelty, love and support right along with each one. This is the third book in this series that I have read.
Another awesome book in the series. My heart broke for Galina, I was so happy for Clive and Olivia, so disappointed in Megan, and so proud of Corinne and Angela. I’m happy about the romance between Violet and Rey, I think they’re an awesome match. Just an overall great book! Onto the next one!
Ok, so why is not this series not a movie? All these books are so well written I'm totally invested in all these wonderful people. I love how randomly scripture is quoted and sometimes it's just what I need to hear.
Is getting a lot bigger. Family isn't always by blood. In our time especially, it however has been much of our history for over 200 years. Especially during very Poor times and war time
Life was hard for those settlers in the west, they had to work and deal with different personalities. I love the way love endures and their respect for God and His love. I recommend this Wildflowers book 5, and excited to start Book 6
I have read the first 5 books and I'm been enjoying this series. The writing is full of misspellings and other minor errors, but the author is a good storyteller so I "spit out the sticks and eat the hay," so to speak.
I enjoy all the characters and the plot of the books so far. What I don't like is the poor editing. It is disconcerting when two tenses are used in the same sentence at times and so many misspellings.
I've been enjoying this series about a group of characters put together on the Oregon trail. The author is busy sharing her story with us readers. Great series.
Wrong verb tenses, poor punctuation, wrong pronouns, malformed sentences; this series is in desperate need of editing! The characters, plots and story line are very good.
