Librarian note: YA books published in Taiwan tend to be printed only in paperbacks, and as a result, there are restrictions with the lengths of the books, and some books have to be separated into more than one volume due to its thickness; those books will not be sold separately and have to be bought as a set. This book is one of those kind; the first part (isbn 9789863354901) includes 288 pages, and the second part (isbn 9789863354918) includes 320 pages.

Wondering why I'm writing an English review for a Chinese book? Because I think the series (sorry, not this book in particular lmao) is fricking awesome, and I wish the whole wide world could have the chance to read it. If a review that can be understood by more people on this platform, and consequently perking people's interests, well yeah, lol. I honestly hope there'd be some random scouts searching for some underdogs. Honestly, English mainstream YA (or books claimed to not be YA but still feels like it regardless) nowadays tend to feel so tropey and formulaic, new-blood, heck, actually old-blood just originally in a different language, would have been a nice change.
