This work, compiled by Jochen von Lang, contains written materials from Henry Picker, who managed to secretly record some of Hitler's casual commentary on many topics, along with photos by Heinrick Hoffman, who was Hitler's personal photographer. Though published in English in 1973, I read it in about 1984 as a grad student in psychology who was working in the library part-time. I always had an interest in history, particularly WWII, and as a psychologist the rise and fall of Hitler is intriguing. The photos are quite outstanding and important historically. The quotes from Hitler are certainly interesting for both their relatively banality and their hints, and more, of a deeply unsettling and evil man.
