I would have given this book 5 stars if the grammar and proofreading were edited before the book was published. But I absolutely loved Van and Denny's story. If you like 2nd chance love stories, than this is a MUST READ!!

When Vanessa Gray and Joey Denham were teenagers they both were counselors at the same camp and fell in love before going off to college. She thought they had a future together. He was her first love. When she visited him, she got the shock of her life. He lived in a big mansion, where Ness, that's the name she went by back then, didn't come from money like he did. He was supposed to meet her, but his mother did instead with a threat to stay away from her precious boy. Joey later called her breaking up with her without a reason. Ness was heartbroken, but she got over it.

Years later, she's a successful publicist working for the Grizzlies Football team. She sees him splashed on the papers partying it up with several woman hanging on his arms on a nightly basis. When her best friend, Rose, gets engaged to his best friend, Jake, she into Joey--now going by Denny again after all these years. At first he doesn't recognize her, and she's grateful. When he does, she acts like she's a impartial.

Joey can't believe that Ness or Van has been living in Greenboro this whole time and never knew it until her heard about Rose's best friend, Van. He's only known her as Ness so he never connected the dots. Everytime he's asked her out, she's turned him down.

When these two finally go out for a drink, their chemistry is off the charts. But there are people who don't want the couple together, who will go so far as ruin both of their careers.

Will he do the unthinkable do protect her?? But when a revelation on her end that changes both of their lives makes him fight for their relationship, is it too late??

A must read!!!

Coach would never bench star quarterback without a great reason. Never....what was coach behaving like this??? Not explained properly...but I think management would of had a handle on this if star quarterback went to them. Quarterback sells seats. So two stars off for unreal plausibility.

Otherwise I liked characters. I like second chance HEA.
