It's just necessary to have this book on your shelf. It really was a well handled subject. I felt it was yummy and any idiot can use it. I guarantee you, I am borrowing three other slow cookers, others bringing crudités trays and this Superbowl party is going to be easy peasy.
I received a copy of "The Meat Lover's Slow Cooker Cookbook" from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

My Review:
If you have never used a slow cooker you need to learn to now. With our busy schedules this little piece of equipment can save time and effort. What can be easier than starting a dish, the night before, while doing house or yard work, or better yet while away from the home altogether, either running errands or working. Come home to the delicious meal waiting to be dished up or with a few additives (side dish or rolls etc.) So much flavor for so little effort. I , personally go through a lot of stock vegetable, beef, and chicken mostly. there are recipes to use the slow cooker to make your own stocks, broths and often used sauces. Follow that with the much liked stews, chili, and chicken dishes such as Chicken Cacciatore (pg. 122), orange chicken (Pg. 126), and such. There are pork, beef and lamb dishes as well as seafood and fish dishes as well. My favorite was the Loaded Mashed Potatoes (Pg. 164). You are bound to find something to appeal to your tastes in this cookbook. If not then you are even more of a picky eater than I am.
I checked the paperback version out from the library, although the Kindle version would be fine if you aren't attached to color pix. I haven't bought a cookbook in YEARS. I want to own this one. Not even kidding. Almost every recipe sounds good to me as-is, which is rare. I always tweak a recipe because it sounds too sweet, there's an ingredient I don't like, or some other flavor flaw. I finally drank the Kool-Aid and bought an instant pot a week ago. Black Friday FTW! Almost all these recipes can be easily converted (once I learn how to use it LOL). I am seriously impressed and want to look at more of Ms. Olvera's cookbooks.
