Self-Sabotage: 12 Nasty Habits

Rate this book
The purpose of this book is self-improvement rather than improvement of the world. It is designed to help the reader, as well as the author, come to terms with the impact and costs of certain behaviors on their lives and careers. The starting point of the exercise is to see these behaviors through the eyes of those who are subjected to them - impacted by others behaving in certain ways. The purpose of gathering these impressions is to provide a kind of mirror that the reader can gaze into - a way of realizing the way people see you when you behave in this or that manner. I want to help you develop an ability to detect and respond more effectively to certain behaviors in others. But that is only an interim step. Without going the final step of turning the understanding on one's self, the exercise would be much the same as many others that have gained notoriety in recent years. I want to provide a practical approach to highlighting, understanding and then changing self-sabotaging behaviors. A step-by-step program that could be used to shut them down and improve the life experience of anybody with the determination to "stop hitting themselves in the head with a shovel.''
